((This is Private RP between .K.amikaz.e. and Myself. Please do not post unless asked. ))  ---------------------------------------- Kale trotted through the meadow, enjoying the nice and pleasant warmth of the morning before the heat squelched what pleasantness there was as the sun claimed higher. He wondered what to do today, to go look for his children? His mate? He hadn't seen either in so long. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen much of anyone outside his family and fellow teepee-mates in quite awhile. He chuckled to himself, had he suddenly become reclusive as he aged? Shaking his head--because he wasn't that old--he continued to think over his options for the day, even considering the possibility of sleep in the shade. SUch was this type of day.

The sun certainly did have a way of.. Raining on one's parade, so to speak. Miri sighed softly, finding the heat a bit difficult to deal with as she traveled on, curly forlock drooping down over her eyes. Her mind wandered as she pranced along, wondering as to what her little friend Eirian, the colt she shared a teepee with, was up to. Probably off swimming. Lucky.
Her steps stopped abruptly as the faint gurgle of a stream met her pricked ears, and she turned, smile spreading across her face at the thought of a drink. One could certainly use it in this heat... After all, being sweaty was bad enough without being parched aswell. Black hooves picked up the pace as she danced over to the water, curly black and brown tail flicking a few pesky flies away as she went along. Stopping at the water, she dropped her head, drinking quietly.

Kale slowed his gait as he entered the cover of the forest, tossing his head to get his white mane out of his eyes. It was clearly cooler in the shade of the trees and with a soft nicker he set off down the well worn path toward his daughter's home. Hopefully this time she would be there. He hardly saw her anymore, she was always avoiding him though he couldn't understand why.
A black ear flicked toward a soft rustle, one that evidenced someone else in the vicinity. Should he go take a look? Perhaps it was his daughter or one of his sons? Maybe even Marina? He hoped so....but the odds just weren't terribly likely. He took a step forward into the brush, curiosity getting the best of him.

It was true, how water always tasted better when one was truely thirsty.
Miri raised her head, blushing slightly as she wondered how greedy she must have looked, drinking so fast. Glancing around, she left out a small sigh, relieved that no one had seen.
Or did they? Ears perked on either side of her thick forelock as the brush shifted in front of her, a black stallion appearing from the dense cover of the trees. She, not wanting to make a poor first impression, nodded her head slightly, a sign of respect.
"Hello. Looking for a drink?"

The tiny hope of seeing a loved one was dashed as his green eyes landed on a chocolate mare, dark mane and tail a mass of curls. Still...it was nice to see another soquili, even if it wasn't entirely what he had hoped.
Bowing his head back in greeting, he strode for a few more steps, not thirsty enough to reveal it at the moment and it wouldn't be entirely gentlemanly to go forward and drink when there was someone to talk to.
"Good morning," He replied kindly, smiling, "No, thank you, I'm not thirsty at the moment." he shook his head, braids smacking against his neck, "May I ask what brings a fine young lady such as yourself out in this heat?" He asked, curious. If he knew Azariel--and he did--She'd de neck deep in cool water or in the shade, complaining up the wazoo. She hated the heat.

Was it just her imagination, or did he almost seem disappointed when he saw her?
Shaking off the feeling, she smiled to him, her typical response to meeting a new Soquili. Smiling seemed to be the best way to come off as friendly, without being overeager. Tilting her head, curly brown and black bangs slid over, now not in the way of both her eyes. Hey, better to be able to see clearly with at least one eye. She looked over to him, ears pricked as he spoke.
"A fine young lady? Please, your words are too kind. I simply was out looking for some refreshment, maybe a bit of company. And yourself?" She inquired, tail swishing once, twice behind her.

Kale smiled back, a tiny bit amused at her resonse. What young mare didn't enjoy a compliment? Well, aside from his daughter. He chuckled softly and shook his head, "I am not up to anything very important," He began, "I was just on my way to check up on my daughter, though with my luck she'll have already left to roam about as she loves to do."
He sighed softly, wishing he could spend more time with her, or even his other children. Kalm had vanished sortly after his first year and Twilight had soon followed. He hadn't gone to look for them, they had the right to leave if they wished no matter how much Kale may disapprove.
He shook his head again, dissmissing those thoughts for the moment, "I'm afraid I was a bit distracted for the moment. If you wold like," He took a step back, intent on leaving the little mare to her day, "I'll leave you to enjoy your time...?"
