So, apperantly, I can play pretty damn fast. I just picked up the guitar a few months ago, and I can play a few songs, but nothing fantastic, just your very basic rythyms, Stairway To Heaven, Jessica, Heartbreakers, but I can picks faster then anyone I know personally. I know two guys who have been playing for about 3 years, and dont use picks, just fingers, and they have fantastic finger methods.
So, is it good that I can play fast and OK with my fingers, or my friends can play great with their fingers and bad with picks?

there's is no better or worse. all you need to worry about is getting good and being comfortable with the technique that suits you best.

I used to play soleley with my fingers, and I remember playing really fast. But after a while, I moved to picking because there's more stuff you can do (unless you take the plunge to fingerpicking).
Honestly, play Crazy Train with your fingers, then a pick. You'll notice you can play the intro miles faster with your fingers.

MAKQ what are you talkin about ? do you mean if its okay to play fast at all ? is it odd that I play fast before learning anything else? or is that normal

Dont be fast all the time , its kinda lame . Like a one trick pony thing .
