The southern tip of the lands were perfect for her means. Just like home, even. Ziva smirked; the only small show of emotion she dare let out. She was like that--a hard-a**. She didn't let anyone see any part of her. She was all about the hunt, the chase, the kill. Trained to be a murdering machine, and nothing more. The hot sun was blazing down upon the sands, heating them up to burn delicate pads. The wind whipped the granules into the air, making it impossible to keep them from one's eyes. Not unless one was born and raised in desert conditions. Ziva thrived here, running through the sand and enjoying the tension it put into her muscles. Strain made them grow strong, and it was all she could do to keep pushing herself to attain a more physically perfected body. Up and down the dunes, over rocks and around sparse foliage she went, pushing harder and harder. Her unusually large ears let off the excess heat, and her tongue lolled from her mouth, glistening with saliva. Her eyes were bright. It was here she was alive. Undisturbed. She liked it here the most, away from everyone else.

Here was her mission, and also her solitude. It felt good to be out and away from the close knit community of theives, whores, and murderers. She would not forget her training here, nor stoop to the courtesan's level. She was a general, this was her post. To stop would mean death, and so she pressed on, aware at all times that someone may approach, but not entirely prepared to encounter anyone. Her mind was far away that morning.

It had been two full days since Tabansi had led Gerda astray. When at first the okapi colored wolf welcomed the silence of the mute one now, now whenever he could neither hear nor tell what she was thinking, the silence proved deafening. And it was a hard thing to bear. Even though she did not speak it, he could feel the saddness coming off of her in waves. Sometimes it proved to be too much for even he to bear. But, this was his own folly. HE had done this. He alone had encouraged her to trust him and then he betrayed him.

Just like he betrayed his own pack so long ago.

But, he had not touched her! The urge to mount was overwhelming each and everytime he gazed at her pure yet tainted white fur. But he had not laid one paw on her! He didn't treat her unkindly. And he even offered her whatever he didn't want from his hunt. Rich, full, meat and at times he would even leave the sinewy part for himself so that she could take in the fat. Restore the energy he had so brutally ripped away from her.

But, this was not to be.

Gerda would not eat. No matter how much he offered and no matter how kindly he treated her she would not take one bite. More then once he thought about using force on the young one. He may have been getting up there in age, but he was still big and strong. He could easily make her do whatever it is he wanted her to do. Even things unwanted. But, somehow this did not seem right. It was true that he had taken her away from her own home and in the end all he wanted out of her was to feel his manly desires.

But, he was no monster.

He decided that he would at least get her accepted to the pack first. Maybe if she felt like this COULD be home that in time she could forget about the place she had left behind. And then when she was too old for his tastes then perhaps she could move on. He was sure Gerda would be able intregrate into this pack society if she really tried. The only question now was how to get her to try! First he needed to find someone to accept her.

Karrim was out of the question. The big great one was far too nice. And he would only care about the well being of this poor wolfess. He would look straight through Tabansi and probably return Gerda like the idiot charming noble he was, or thought he was. Lilith was no go either. The alpha only seemed to do things that benefit herself or the pack and Tabansi wasn't sure a mute female would do much good for their pack. Not to mention Lilith seemed to be getting a bout of morales lately. So that left.....Ziva.

Immediately he headed to the spot he knew she would be.

Gerda didn't know how long it's been since she was brutally mislead away from her home. She KNEW she should have listened to her gut. Everything in her mind was ringing that should stir clear of the blue strangly striped wolf. He offered to help her, but instinct told her that she could do it on her own. Even her family had worn her and her brother time and time again to stir clear of wolves and wayward animals they did not know. Oh but she hadn't listened! Now she was trapped into this web of deciet and trepidation.

It was the nights that it got to her the worse. She knew what Tabansi was after. Gerda was no fool. And she could see it in his eyes everytime he looked at her. That fire lust that shone brighter then even the blessed light giver. But she would growl him away. That seemed to stop him...at least for the time being. But, she did not how much longer she could hold him off. But nights were really bad. It was in the night where she would think about all the things that had happened to her, and of course..

how badly she wanted to get away.

But, this task proved to be more daunting then even she could handle. The first night she DID try to run away, but as always the woods looked all the same to her, especially at night. She would turn this way and that, only to run into the same rock or moss covered tree she had just passed. And finally, at the dawn's edge she ran into one familarity she definitely did not want to see...

Him.

So running away really wasn't an option. She would have to wait this out, at least a little while longer. She wasn't sure till when. But, Gerda was resourceful and hope would not be lost until she was mere dust to the wind. Secretly too she hope Laos would be out there looking for her. Perhaps her family too. But, she knew her brother would be lost without her and could even envision him trying to find him this very moment. So the next day she spent following Tabansi obediantly though her rebel spirit was not yet broken.

Soon they came to a dune, or rather a series of dunes. She waited, ever playing the patient captee while Tabansi looked around. Clearly he was looking for another wolf. Gerda just hope this person would be able to help.

A breeze blew through those dunes, hot and firey in the dying sun. It whipped itself through the nostrils, and Ziva's brain began to calculate the owner. One was familiar, and one unknown. Tabansi. She knew the name, she had seen him, but she had never wished to associate with him. As far as she had heard, he was in the lust department and all she cared about was fighting six ways from Sunday. Furthermore, he brought another with him. That could only mean one thing. A small grunt escaped her as she ceased in her training labors. She had had enough for today anyway. She could feel the dull ache of fatigue setting into her haunches as she slowed, turned, and began an easy stride towards the two newcomers.

Once her eyes laid themselves upon the two, she began to analyze them. Tabansi, large and powerful no doubt, yet no match for Ziva's smarts. A wry smirk twisted her lips, be it ever so slightly. She would never fall into his net, as much as he and others might dream. Then, the deep, dark, and calculating eyes of the warrior fell upon the other that had arrived. She was petite; not yet an adult. Her coat was pure and faded--clearly muted colors. She was definitely a nice looking wolf, and Ziva could understand her young allure. However, once her kinder look had passed over Gerda, she turned her eyes on Tabansi, something frigid in her stare.

"What do you want?" She demanded. Her voice was soft, yet harsh. It was a biting tone, yet also subtle. She had a way with speech, no doubt. This had been a practiced and perfected art, and Ziva was the artist.

The storyteller inhaled deeply as he looked over at the white pure female and then back over to where he was now headed. He didn't know what Ziva would think of this new intruder, but he had a fairly good idea. In her mind the only thing was war and the hunt. She only cared to train herself for the big times and then when the big times came she put her training to could use.

That was about all he knew of her.

But, she would serve his purpose he was sure. And if not...well he wasn't sure about that. He didn't really have another option. Well, techinally he did, but he didn't want to take Gerda back. Not now. He knew he would have to get Ziva to think this female was worth having around. He didn't know how to go about doing that, but he knew he damn well figure something out before the general's interest was lost.

He had confidence he would think of something.

But when she spoken all confidence was lost.

"Well," Tabansi started, his eyes ticking to and fro while his brain tried to stop lagging and just remember what he was concentrating on saying before the general had spoken. But, the speech he had inwardly rehearsed was now lost to him.

He looked back at Gerda who was scowling at him. "She was lost. She came stumbling into the packlands. She can't speak and I can't get her back to her home. I, or un we...." he cast another glance over at Gerda, "though it best she make this her new home. It's been many moons since she's last seen her family."

He's lying!

He was lying!

Oh how badly Gerda wished that she could speak. That she could just speak the words and make it known that this monster was speaking filthy lies. The strong willed teen glared at Gerda and then looked over at this knew wolf. She could see the muscles underneath this females fur and by the way Tabansi was acting she assumed this might be the alpha of the pack, and if not then certainly a member of high rank. She didn't know if this were to be good or bad. Clearly Tabansi wanted her to join this b*****d of a clan, but this would never be a pack of hers.

There was however, still small shred of hope that she didn't have to join at all. She hoped this female in charge would have more sense then Tabansi obvously had and that she would see through his putrid lies.

But, she had her doubts.

She took a deep breath and stood forward, her maw hanging open slightly for words that would never come. Her tail hung loosley just near her legs, but not entirely tucked in between them. Her ears were set back, flattened against her skull and her brow was turned upwards towards the heavens.

A look of saddness.

She hoped, prayed, but mainly she hoped that this female would see through the lies. That soon she could be brought home with her brother, mother, father and other siblings. Mainly she wanted to see her brother. It had been too long, far too long and with everthing in her she willed this female in charge would be her angel of salvation.

Luckily for Gerda, Ziva was well versed in body language as a part of her training. Even if she wasn't particularly interested in Tabansi's story, she could see by the way the little white female was standing and looking up at her that he was lying. Having never met Tabansi before, but having some idea of how he behaved and functioned in the pack, she could tell he was up to no good. Luckily for her, she was of higher rank than him, and could easily overrule him on pretty much any issue. Looking to him, clearly seeing through his sheen curtain of lies, she blew them away like a mist.

"I see." She said with a nod of her head. She was stone faced, and slowly a smirk spread. "Well, it's funny you should speak for her, seeing as there was no way she could tell you any of that with her own tongue." She flashed that smirk in Gerda's direction, her eyes saying that she'd protect the little female. "A mute can't very well communicate such an elaborate story using only her body." She added, the smile gone as her eyes fell once again upon Tabansi.

"She can stay, but she will stay under my command." She said firmly. Even a mute could be useful in times of war. she could easily be a spy, or something even better down the road. Yes, with Ziva's ability to read others without a word, and this young one's ability to convey, they could be a powerful pair. Either that, or she could let the little female go. Maybe even escourt her home herself. She of course wouldn't tell Tabansi any of this. "Welcome to my rankings, little white one." She added, her eyes again shining soft and kind on Gerda. She looked to Tabansi. "Get out of my sight."

The glare that Tabansi sent Ziva could rock nations, if only he had the courage to do it while she was looking instead of went she wasn't. He might as well gone to Lilith or that idiot, Karrim. Snorting and kicking up dirt with a paw the blue okapi like wolf finally relented. There wasn't really anything he could do. What Ziva said went and the only words that were above her own were the two alphas. There was no use telling either of them now.

It'd be a futile effort and would cause more trouble then it was worth.

He looked over, from one to the other and then back again. Once more the longing in his bones could not be quieted. He WANTED what he YEARNED for. What was the use of being in such a sinful pack if one could not actually sin. Internally he raged against himself, trying to come up with the best course of action. He wanted to just gnaw and bite Ziva, but that would prove to be difficult. She could have him dead before he could completely determine how to strike first.

He sighed.

"I speak only the truth," he lied, the putrid mistruths rolling off his tongue as easily as drool over the want now in question. "But, if you don't believe me who am I to argue."

He searched for some way, some bit of reasoning that might make this great general at least have enough faith in him to where Gerda would be his. After he was done with her then he could send her back to learn and train and do whatever else Ziva wanted.

But after he had his fill first.

"You're busy," he started, "I can look after her while you train yourself and the worries. It's not bother to me. Really."

Finally someone that wasn't a complete idiot, Gerda thought as she listened to the words of this 'general'. Her ears turned upwards and perked forward, though her tail still hung limply and the look of clear morose continued to press into her features. She was glad that this female turned out to have more sense then the big oaf that had nabbed her in the first place. But, all the same Gerda didn't want to stay longer then she absolutely had to.

She wanted to go home!

But, oh to convey that to this female in charge. It was true the other could read body language like a pro, but how could Gerda move and act to let the other know she just wanted to be home already. The others would be home, probably worried by now. Perhaps they were already starting to look for her! Instantly she envisioned the family sniffing around trees, rocks and bushes trying to get wind of their beloved white muted teen femme.

Only there was a problem with that line of thinking.

Tabansi, evil b*****d that he was, had made sure they had crossed over plenty of streams and waist deep rivers. She snorted at the very thought. Maybe he had done this kind of thing before. Who the hell knew. But, he had damn well made sure her scent would linger and die, leaving her family lost and confused. It angered her, so much so that her little lithe body shook from the thought of it all.

She looked back at the other female, and merely padded over to her. At this point, she felt whatever happened....happened. If this female had enough good sense to take her back to her lands then she would be joyous and thankful beyond all measure. But if she, like Tabansi, wanted to use her only for selfish gain then...

so be it.

She had dismissed Tabansi. She couldn't understand why he hadn't taken her order and simply shut his trap and left. Then again, he was one of the lustful bastards that liked to hump everything that moved. Or, at least, that's what she gathered by the glazed-over look in his eyes. Her attention had completely turned off of him and onto the new youngling that had appeared at her doorstep, and he should have known better than to speak, let alone continue to try and strike up a bargain with her.

Within seconds, her eyes flashed dangerously and her head snapped toward him. Her lips curled back in a deep-throated snarl and her ears pinned forward. Every hair on her body shot out, making the female look twice her size. Though she didn't attack, she knew that would be enough to teach him. If it wasn't...

...there'd be blood spilt today.

Phantom ear pains sprung up around Tabani's head and the older wolf flinched. He wanted to say something, put Ziva right in her place. Lilith was wrong in choosing this one. She was just power hungry and selfish, far more selfish then him. So what if wanted to do wanton things to Gerda? It didn't mean anything. He'd still take care of her and give her lots and lots of attention. Ziva on the other hand would make this dainty beautiful female go into something that was far greated then what Gerda would be used to.

Games of war?

That was no place for a little teen.

Of course if Tabansi was really smart he would realize that games of lust weren't fit a teen either, but whatever. In his mind wrong was right and right was really wrongs that he claimed to be right to fit what he wanted.

He sneered at Ziva, this time full on as she spit and snarled. He highly doubted she would hurt him, or at least in his opinion she wouldn't. Lilith wouldn't want him to be killed and slaughtered. Or maybe she wouldn't even care if he was. He certainly wasn't useful to the pack. Not like Ziva was. He weight his options. He could snarl back and claim dominance, or he could go let it go for now and find Gera alone when the time presented itself. Considering he wasn't all that dominant, especially in comparison with her...

he chose the later.

Turning tail he sent one last look at Gerda, nodded his great head, and then merely left.

Gerda looked from male to female and then took a step back. This was not somethign she wanted to be involved in. By the female's display it was clear that this big oaf was no match. She figured he was just a horny b*****d that had preyed on her lack of being able to speak.

As most did.

Only this time he'd gotten lucky. Laos wasn't with her and neither was any other member of her family. Ziva would take him and that was that. But, that still didn't solve her problem. She STILL wanted to leave and be home, safe and sound. But her apathy was rising. She didn't care anymore. She just wanted this blue creep away! And finally when Tabansi faltered and turned, Gerda could bark with joy if she was actually able to.

Free at last!

Or at least free from being raped that night. Gotta to find the silver lining somewhere. She turned to the female once Tabansi was out of range and lifted a paw up.

A small, but still relevent 'hello'.

Once he turned tail, she let out a ferocious, ear-splitting bark. It was raspy, but full of her rage for his near disrespect of her. How dare he consider showing dominance to her! She was right below the alphas, and that was only because she'd pledged her loyalties to the alpha. They both knew if she wanted to, she could slaughter pretty much anybody she'd come across. Even though she was a female, she was a strong one. Not only that, but smart. Once he was out of her sights, she turned back to the white female, her fur smoothing out.

"Now then," she began, watching the little paw lift up. "Hello. I am Ziva, general of this pack's army." She knew that Gerda could hear her even if she couldn't respond with a voice. She didn't need to attempt to do anything other than be her natural self, and Ziva would understand. "Don't worry about Tabansi... I won't let him lay a paw on you."

Gerda kept her eyes pinpointed on the femme in front of her. You didn't have to tell her twice to respect her elders. She was raised in a family that did and by the looks of it Ziva would make someone mind their manners with a well placed lesson by fang. But the mute teen knew respect and gave it whole heartedly. Her orbs widened at the yell, but otherwise she appeared to be unphased.

Minus the fact that she was still very much homesick.

She nodded to the greeting, her interest waning like it did whenever someone was going to explain something long and boring. But then she ticked back over and let a small thankful grin slip to her maw. Whether this Ziva person was truly going to keep Tabansi away she didn't know. But, she appreciated the comment at least. But this did not settle her problem.

How was she supposed to convery that she didn't want to be here and that she wanted to be led back home instead?
