For perhaps the hundredth time that hour Amelia glanced at her reflection in the mirror, straightening what she perceived to be a misplaced lock of hair before returning to pacing the room. She was nervous about today’s meeting, even though it was only with Spencer; and the child found herself gladdened to be currently staying with Orpheus, his accommodations far more pleasing and welcoming then Cyn’s dingy apartment. Checking her appearance once more, prompting an irritated growl for the girl, Amelia forced her feet to cease their pacing and instead curled herself into one of the library’s well-padded chairs.
Within her mind she recited the details she had given to Spencer, confident that she had gotten them correct, and turned her attention to the laces upon her boots – anything to pass the agonizingly slow minutes. He’ll come. Spencer wouldn’t stand up my invitation, not after I talked to his freak relatives, Amelia told herself, nodding along with the thoughts in her head. Although she would never openly admit it, Justin and Jillian hadn’t been all that bad; nowhere near as thick-skilled, dull and bothersome as she had expected them to be, but she was none too eager to interact with the pair again given the flack she had deal with from Viktor and Marcus.
Glancing at the clock, Amelia grumbled once more at witnessing just how much time had passed. “Move faster time!” she ordered, words falling on deaf ears.

Meanwhile, just about two blocks around the corner was Spencer peadling his bike. He was peadling like a frantic lunatic trying to get away from some imaginary zombie or something. Crud, he knew he was late and it was all Rin's fault for coming home for the week with a broken leg. Boy was Spencer tweaked.
"Spencer! Rin needs this!" The words played in his mind. "Spencer! Don't touch his leg!" It's like Rin was the ruler of everyone when he had done so much bad before! Spencer was sick of it. His own parents couldn't drive him to his playdate with Amelia because of 'Poor Rin.' So he knew an alternative, bike ride the twenty miles from his house to where Amelia said the playdate would take place. He knew it was worth it, He really liked Amelia. So he peadled on.
As Spencer was just pulling into the driveway someone radioed him on the walkie-talkie he had brought incase anyone called him. "Spencer! Did you get there yet?" It was Cami. Spencer reached down to grab the walkie-talkie but before he could he forgot he was still peadling. His bike hit a big rock. "AH!!" He screamed as loud as he could. He fell face foward onto the grass. He lay there for a few seconds before standing up to brush himself off. He looked up at the house and smiled.
"At least I'm here" He muttered. "No thanks to my family..." He ran to the front door of the house and knocked as hard as he could.
"Amelia! I'm here! Almost in one peice!" He yelled.

Slowly, ever so slowly, the door opened; a wizened face appearing from within to greet Spencer. “MasterAntsu?” the man queried, stepping further into the bright sunlight; the action revealing he was dressed in a crisp, formal suit and tie combination. Clearly, the old man, Hermes, was Orpheus’ butler. Without waiting for Spencer to answer the question, Hermes moved to the side of the entry way and pushed the door open. “After you Master Antsu” the man intoned, ushering Spencer inside and closing the entrance behind them. “Follow me” Hermes instructed, navigating further into the spacious home with a speed and dexterity that failed to align with his physical appearance.
A short time later, Hermes paused before a large wooden door. “Miss Amelia has been awaiting your arrival in the library” he explained, raising a bony hand and knocking lightly upon the door.
Scrambling to her feet as a gentle rap filtered to her ears, Amelia sprinted to distance from her chair to the door, pausing to check her reflection once more before flinging the door open. “Spencer!” she exclaimed happily, throwing her arms around the boys neck and pulling him into a brief, and tender, hug. Pulling back, fighting back the heat that threatened to rise to her face, Amelia’s eyes widened as she noticed the grass stains on Spencer’s clothes and skin. “What happened?” she asked worriedly, searching his features to ensure he wasn’t cut and bleeding.

Spencer's eyes widened slightly. Boy was this house huge. He'd never seen anything like it. It was like a castle! He was flat amazed. He stared up at the ceiling still following Hermes closely.
Spencer was slightly startled by Amelia yelling his name. Although, he calmed down once Amelia hugged him then he knew it wasn't his mother screaming at him and that he wasn't in a dream. He smiled brightly, his eyes gleaming.
"Amelia!" He exclaimed. "I'm so glad to see you! Sorry to keep you waiting..." He blushed slightly, then noticing Amelia searching him. He looked down at the grass stains on his shirt and his arms and legs. Had he fallen that hard?
"Well..." He slowly began. "I had to ride my bike here, and when I arrived here my bike hit a huge rock and I fell face foward on the grass...but I'm okay!" He blushed a bright red and smiled.

Brushing aside his apology with a quick shake of her head, Amelia couldn’t prevent her golden orbs widening in shock and concern as Spencer recounted how he had come to be marred by the grass. “Are you sure you’re okay?” the girl asked, reaching out to brush a finger over one of the green stains on the boy’s arm.
“A bathroom can be found down the hall is Master Spencer would like to freshen up” Hermes informed the pair, bowing before turning and disappearing back into the depths of the manor.
Amelia nodded in agreement with the butler’s suggestion, catching Spencer’s hand and leading him down the foyer in the direction Hermes had indicated.”Cleaning up wouldn’t be such a bad idea; I don’t want your guardian thinking badly of me and not allowing us to see each other” Amelia uttered as they walked, a worried expression crossing her features at the thought. Arriving before another large, wooden doorway, identical to the library’s entryway, the vampiric girl paused and smiled faintly at Spencer. “The bathrooms through there” she stated, pointing at the door behind her. “Don’t worry about making a mess; Orpheus’ housekeeping staff will clean it up”.
Beginning to swing idly upon her heels and shoving her hands in the pockets of her dress as she waited for Spencer to make a decision, Amelia ducked her head shyly as she asked – “So...what do you want to do today? Orpheus’ has everything imaginable here, so you name it and we can do it”

Spencer nodded slowly, checking himself over once more before raising his head.
"I'm sure!" he chirped. "If I wasn't sure I probably would still be outside on the ground crying in pain" He smiled cheerfully.
Spencer watched as Hermes disappeared into the shadows. Was that man strange or was it just him? Before he could decide Amelia took a hold of his hand and lead him to yet another door. He blinked, that door looked just like the library's. This place kept getting stranger and stranger.
"Uh..." Spencer began. "It's okay, my mom doesn't mind when I get messy...My mom is going crazy I think..." He shrugged. When Amelia asked him what he would like to do he didn't even think. "What would you like to do Amelia?" He smiled cheerfully. "I really don't mind what we do! Oh and by the way..." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small silver locket. He turned it over in his hands.
"Here" He said taking Amelia's hand and placing the locket in it. "This is for you, I bought it on the way here...It has a picture of us on our first playdate!" He laughed slightly trying to prevent a good majority of memories from that playdate from rising. ((I'll get the locket picture soon!))
