The sleek, well toned rogue drifted through the tall grass of the plains with a stomach that was full and content and a need to retreat into the shade and cool shadows that were avaliable. There were sparse trees around the area but it was guarenteed and more than likely that the best and most relaxing way to cool down was to take a trip to the nearest watering hole. Yes- a swim sounded perfect and it would be a good way to finally rid of the matted blood that stained his muzzle and parts of his tattered mane. Well, one could never exactly tell if blood actually inhabited his coat as his fur was a deep crimson with black stripes that streaked across it.

Duzi stood out from the crowd, he was an original rebellious soul who fought for his beliefs, for those who could not stand up for themselves and against the tyrants who sought to exploit and sacrifice members of their own society for their own gain of power and dominance.

He had seen the scenario a million times- watching friends and loved ones suffer, sentenced to death and there was nothing he could do about it as he could feel deaths chilling breath caress against his fur and surge down his spine.

Life was cruel.

But some creatures dealt a worser fate than life could ever deal.

But this was his past and those whom he had loved were deceased. Mipinduzi was on his own and his will to survive continued to drive him onwards everyday. But his heart still continues to beat with the drive to rebel and fight against those who oppose him and his views and that was something that he'd die trying to protect and bring across the attention of others.

His black tipped tail swayed as he walked with a slight swagger; head nodding minutely up and down as a small gust of a breeze ruffled and whisped his tattered, black mane about. "Couldn't of asked fo' a betta' day," he mused to himself with a grin spread across his maw. "Hopefully there some blokes or sheila's who can poin' me in the righ' direction."

Crimson orbs glanced about to where a small scattered regions of trees clustered around-

A watering hole!

Or in this case- a swimming hole!

Black ears perked upwards as he stumbled forwards with a faster pace to where the water resided. From his view, he could see no other creature abiding near its borders nor any other beast that would disrupt his downtime.

It was all too perfect.

Approaching the sandy banks of the watering hole, 'Duzi slowly eased his paws into the water and treaded where the water reached his stomach. The cool sensation of the water upon his skin and fur made his grin upon his maw spread even wider with pure enjoyment. As crimson eyes darted about once again and making sure the coast was clear, Duzi plunged underneath the surface as he sought for a complete cool down.

The princess forbidden of her throne strolled lazily through the lands of the Kusini pride, her uncle's pride. She didn't quite understand why she stayed under her uncle's rule. She loved him and all, since he was family, but there were times where it was all just too boring. Nothing exciting ever happened, and she wanted to go some place adventurous, some place dangerous. She wanted to have thrills and dare to go over the edge.

With the sun beating down upon her back, the bright red lioness sought out a place to rest and possibly get a drink. The days were becoming longer and hotter along with it. She needed water.

Changing her course from random wandering to actually walking in one direction, Rin headed towards the nearest watering hole. She had wandered around the Kusini lands so many times that she felt she could recite the location of every blade of grass and of every tiny rock to a blind person. It was really sad. She needed a life.

Within ten minutes of walking the female found herself standing in front of a watering hole, staring straight at this idiot splashing around in the water. What the hell? Did she suddenly find herself at the new kiddy pool? She normally kept completely up to date with the pride and all of the going ons, but maybe she had missed the nannies moving the kids about.

Yet, upon closer inspection, the female was dismayed to learn that it wasn't some kiddy gathering, but in fact a fully grown lion and one that she was angry to admit she knew. It was that punk.

"Ew."

After several moments of fully submerging himself withinthe depths of the cool waters, Mipinduzi rose upwards- breaking through the surface and flinging his head back as his sopping wet, tattered mane flew from out of his face and departed away from his eyes. His jet black ears flickered as he romped from out of the water back onto dry land once again while an overall sensation and feeling of a renewed refreshment and a comfortable feeling of being able to beat the heat.

"Nothin' like a good swim in ta' afternoon',"he rumbled with a jovial smile across his maw.

The crimson and black striped rogue slinked his forepaws forward, stretching his body and ridding of the aches and muscles that were a bit stiff. Wandering around the plains led one to pay the price of having sore paws and muscles that grew tired from walking such long distances.

But for 'Duzi, it wasn't severe nor a problem as he grew use to the constant movement about the lands in search of the bare necessities and anything that would at least get him by another day.

He suddenly shook his body vigorously as he tried to rid of the extra water his mane and fur had collected and swished his tail behind him. He had cooled down substancially and having to mull about with fur that was doused with water wouldn't be too comfortable nor appealing. With his mane poofing out slightly in its tattered and jagged array, 'Duzi swept his head to the right as his tapered bangs swayed before his right eye in its typical array.

Glancing back towards the watering hole, 'Duzi began to meander elsewhere when a scent that wafted within the air caught hold of his nostrils.

Black ears perked forwards as his muzzle twitched. Such a familair scent! Who, or what was it? 'Duzi knitted his brows as his lips pursed along with his brain collecting and perusing within the recollections of his memories and associates when suddenly a grin tucked at the corner of his maw.

He knew exactly who it was.

"I'll answer you're questions for ya, sheila," he announced with a purr in his voice, his tone calm and docile as his accent was still thick. "No I'm not 'ere ta' wage war on you, I took a swim 'cause I was tired and yes I know I'm trespassin."

Walking a bit with a small swagger, 'Duzi trailed to where the lioness was spying.

"Afty, Rin."

Rin folded her ears back angrily as the male didn't even seem to notice her. He was moving about in the water and flinging the stuff everywhere yet still he couldn't manage to see her or even smell her. Figures. He was a male after all. They weren't so good as females, that was for sure.

But why did she want him to notice her anyways? She hated him, right? Growling to herself, the princess flicked her tail uneasily and debated moving away. But before she could actually act on any one thought or decision, it seemed that Duzi had finally found her and was talking to her now. Her fur bristled at his voice, but she also felt a delightful shiver run down her spine.

Ignoring it, however, she turned with blue eyes blazing.

"Just coming here was an act of war, rebel. And swimming when you're tired doesn't make much sense, now does it?" She snorted, throwing her head to the side proudly. "And if you know you're trespassing, why don't you get out of here before someone finds you? Let's just hope it's not my father who finds you. Especially if you are with me."

Hostility clear in all of her body language, the female clawed at the soft dirt beneath her claws, wishing for a moment that she'd have that chance again, that free strike he had given her on their first meeting. Why hadn't she taken it?

"Don't you 'afty' me," she growled. "Talk normal for once. What are you doing here?"

The crimson and black striped rogue arched a brow, lips pursed slightly as his head couldn't help but tilt to the side at a minute angle. As the lioness's contention and outrage seemed to spill from her maw with hostility, 'Duzi blinked several times as he could feel his own rage boil under the surface but he tried to keep that at bay as best he could.

He was familair now, thanks to their first meetings, with her personality but there was a part of her that he still wanted to understand- a part of her that she still continued to hide behind; a mask that could be chisled away and the true lioness who he knew she was could be revealed.

"'Course it does," he smirked, his tail swaying behind him as he settled upon his haunches. "Any bloke or sheila would swim if it was bloody hot out." Swimming when youre tired from the heat- it made sense to him! But he could only assume that she was another casualty to his rather strange accent as it seemed to confuse just about everyone.

"An' I'm not lookin' fo' war wid' you or ya uncle an' you can conside' yourself spared from havin' ta' deal with me- well, at leas' fo' now."

A yawn escaped from his maw as he couldn't help but shake out his mane from the remnant water that still clung within its tattered, black depths. But as he next retort came to his ears, Duzi simply smiled warmly as he rose to his paws and began to draw closer, walking around her slowly as his mysterious yet captivating orbs much like freshly spattered blood settled upon her with no trace of hostility or a savage nature abiding within them.

"Me? leg it out o' here so soon? Aw- but I'd be bazzin' to make a bit of a row and 'ave to try an' escape. I'd be anothe' adventure and another round o' usin' wit and pe'haps claws. I'm sure you'd love ta' join in on that."

A small frown curled upon his maw as he wandered around her.

"Sorry ta dissapoint you, Princess, but this is me talkin' normal. If 'afty' ain't you' cup o' tea then I guess it can be taken as good afta'noon, Rin."

He rolled his eyes as he came back towards her and slumped upon his haunches before her.

"Satisfied?"
PostPosted: Mon Apr 30, 2007 6:50 am

Rin narrowed her eyes at him angrily, not liking his attitude already. He was too calm and too easygoing around her, despite him being a 'rebel' and despite her practically spitting acid in his face. Didn't he have any anger within that rogue form of his?

"I wouldn't," she growled. She hated water, like every other normal cat. Water made her fur stick uncomfortably to the skin underneath and she hated the feeling. Besides, there were other ways to cool down from the hot midday sun. Like sleeping. She liked to sleep. But today it seemed like she wouldn't be doing much sleep. If he was around, she'd be too full of adrenaline and anger to bother resting.

"Good thing," she murmured, even though she didn't think her uncle or herself would have started anything with him. Her uncle was too easygoing to do any sort of fighting, though she had heard that him and his brother Denahi had fought as children.

"Spared?" she said, almost laughing. "What is this then? I'm having to deal with you right now!"

As he said that he might stick around to have more of an adventure being chased out, the female bristled alarmingly. Anyone like that wasn't welcome within her uncle's pride. Everyone here was relatively docile. "I wouldn't love doing anything with you, but stick around long enough and it'll be my claws you'll be dealing with," she growled, her possessiveness over the pride and its members quite obvious from the gleam in her eyes.

Snorting, she watched him cautiously but constantly as he circled around her then settled in front of her. "Good would have been an afternoon without you in it. And no, I'm not. You're still here."

He tried- oh he had tried to keep his cool, but something within his composure snapped suddenly. And all hell felt as if it was going to break free.

'Duzi's orbs narrowed towards her as he straightened out his back, tail swatting viciously behind him as a sour scowl curled upon his maw. Black ears fell against his head as he tried to be nice but all he could ever taste was blood between his taste. Hate was such a strong word but even in this situation he couldn't find it applicable for some, rather strange, feeling.

Eff this!

"Righ', course you wouldn' want ta' do anythin' wid' me," he smirked, a soft chuckle escaping from his chest. "But if mem'ry serves righ', I gave ya' an opportunity las' time ta' sink ya claws in me an- oh, that's righ' ya backed off an' said I wasn' worth ya' time. So a threat from you, Princess, doesn' 'old in 'igh favor," he snapped, his right forepaw clenching with a vice grip to the ground as he restraint himself from doing anything radical.

"'Sides. Ya' pride hasn' done anythin' to me so there ain't no use for senseless bloodshed," he added, swaying his head to the right as his tapered bangs draped over his right eye.

"There's two types o' rebel: blokes who kill fo' thrill, to make a row and to mindlessly stir up horlicks 'cause they have ta' free will ta' do so and blokes who figh' and kill fo' a cause but in moda'ration and a ta' stop tyranny an' despots. I fight fo' a cause an' only kill when' an' orders been given alonside me mates. But ta' each 'is own o' what ya think."

For him to kill was only in the name of a cause and a purose. Unlike many rouges who were mindless, idiotic and unorganized, Duzi worked alongside others and any affirmative action was best when plans were set rather than venturing out on a whim and killing a target. But the last time he had been in a interworking of alliances was long ago- back when he lived alongside his family and drifted in and out of the pride. Although the pride had been whiped out by famine, the ideas and logic were found in other lions who were scatted about the lands and, if he was ever lucky, he would renew a new band of rebels who would fight along with other prides whose reasons of war to similiar to what he believed in.

Truth. Equality. Freedom. Alliance. Trust.

Love.

Love was something he had fought for only once and such a subject was better condemned to the back of his mind. Yes- he was an edgey, rebellious soul who fought for his beliefs and got by with any means necessary from day to day but love was something that he had fought for once and, certainly, if there was purpose again, he would still continue to fight for it.

...Why the hell was he thinking about love?

Duzi wasn't sure and, for the moment, he had a bit of a situation on his hand with this tempermental princess.

"Damn righ' you have ta' deal with me," he smirked, a widespread smile stretching from ear to ear. "Ya know- ya' wouldn't be so bad if you'd take off that mask ya' always hidin' behin'. It's always intimidation, it's always thinkin' ya have ta' prove you'self and spittin' out acid jus' ta' make ta' mask stay on. There's more ta' life than strength and bein' superior and livin' wid power only lasts till ya die. So why live fo' somethin' ya can't have foeva'?"

Shaking his head, Duzi couldn't help but grin.

"You' not rid of me yet, Rin."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 10, 2007 2:08 pm

Rin tried her best from exploding at this guy. He was trespassing on a pride's land and he dared to act this way?! Who did he think he was? This was the second time, and she had half a mind to kick him out herself. But she couldn't do that, could she? She might have had a bit of blind fury, but even she could see that he was much larger than she and probably more skilled in fighting. When had she ever fought?

But that didn't stop her from kneading the ground angrily, wishing so much to just dig her claws in him once. Why hadn't she taken that free shot he had offered her during their last encounter?

Shaking her head, fur bristling, she sidestepped away from him. "I only didn't because I didn't want to be unfair. I may be angry but I'm not cruel. Hitting you without a purpose wouldn't have been right," she growled through clenched teeth, although she really did want to strike him.

"Well that's a relief then," she said sarcastically when Duzi mentioned that her pride had done nothing to him and so he wouldn't cause any trouble. Not that she felt he could really do anything anyways. He was severely outnumbered. There were so many lions within the Kusini she didn't think she'd actually met all of them face to face. And not all of those lions were kind to strangers.

But when he started spewing things about her 'mask' and all that crap, she had second thoughts about letting the pride do something with him. Why shouldn't she just get rid of him for them and save them the trouble? If only!

"Don't you go talking about that s**t again," she spat angrily. "You don't know the first thing about me. For all you know, this could be who I really am. And everyone has their opinions. You think there's more to live for than power and strength and whatever. Well that's great and dandy for you. But don't go trying to convince me otherwise. I've made up my mind. There's nothing else for me."

She turned to try and leave, but then he said that sheh wasn't rid of him yet. This made her bristle again, and her claws dug deeper into the soil.

"Leave me alone."

Oh yes.

A second time and yet the crimson and black striped male tried to understand the mind of a tempermental, argy-bargy and riled female. Why? He wasn't too sure but he always seemed intriuged by her; there was something about her that he STILL couldn't put his paw on!

Her body language easily conveyed her anger, the wroth that was churning wildly within her that had started as a small flame but, now, was a sweeping, rampaging wildfire.

Glancing towards her paws as she kneaded at the earth- digging and gauging her claws into the dirt, 'Duzi knew that she was pissed.

He was expecting sooner or later to have her claws sink into his chest and draw out blood by now.

At her comment that drew from her clenced teeth, her irritation only hightening, 'Duzi nodded his head. "Those migh' be ta' rules fo' fightin' an' war...but I bloody think ya' do 'ave feelin'," he replied, smooth tongued and soft with a purr in his voice.

But it seemed that the tension boiled even further and as Rin spat her next retorts, 'Duzi sat back on his haunches, looking at her with a suttle smile set upon his maw- cocking a brow as his tail snaked around him and flicked to the side.

"You know, Princess, you ain't that 'ard ta' read," the male stated rather bluntly. "Always thinkin' ya 'ave ta act tough- defend ya'self and uphold ta pride, the ways of the Kusini (oh yes, he knew what pride this was and his location; a rebel always had to know where they were or else they would run into some unwanted and fatal consequences), but ya insecure because of one thing." 'Duzi rose from his haunches as he stood upon all fours, taking several steps forwards yet keeping a comfortable comfort zone between them.

"You're afraid of failin'- bein' ova'taken by anotha' bloke or sheila. Power is ya pride, powa' elps' mask feelin's. And avin' anotha' lion or lioness be ta cause of your downfall is what fear ya 'ave. Powa' is a remedy, a cure fo' ya but powa' leads ta corruption, destruction and, fo' some, death. But I can see righ' through ya', Princess, you ave' feelins'...dare I say... affection?"

He knitted his brows, slumping down upon his haunches as he shook his black, tattered mane. As his crimson eyes settled upon the red female, Mipinduzi shrugged his shoulders.

"Ya' ave' ta' world at ya paws an' yet ya' choose ta' stay rooted in tradition, ta' usual and away from change. Live a little- can't let a pretty face witha' away and neva' learnin' of the world around 'er."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 15, 2007 6:51 am

And now, more than ever, Rin was regretting ever passing up the chance to strike him when he had offered. How had she been so stupid? Maybe if she had hit him hard enough, he would have backed off and she wouldn't have to deal with him like she was now. Why, then, why not? She felt she knew a part of the answer, deep down, but was deathly afraid to admit it.

So she tried to hide her thoughts behind blazing eyes. Which wasn't too hard considering she was pissed at him. Really pissed. She hated the way she could spit all this acid at him and yet he could still reply civilly to her, calm as anyone could be. And he always replied calmly about the things she didn't want to hear from him, such as him thinking she has affection and that she is simply hiding it behind a mask. It wasn't earning him very many points.

She scoffed. "Of course I have feelings," she growled. "I'm angry right now, that's a feeling." Idiot. But she knew that he was talking about other feelings, she just didn't want to admit it.

When he went on to talk about her acting tough and all that, she narrowed her eyes at him and lowered her head ever so slightly. "I defend my pride at all costs," she hissed. "This pride is my family, and I'm not letting them down by going all soft on strangers, get it? My uncle is the king, and I'm not going to jeopardize his throne by letting in just anyone, especially if they are rebels," she added, looking him up and down, disgusted.

"Who isn't afraid of failing?" she snorted, brushing away the subject. No way was she going to let him figure her out. "But there's one thing you're wrong about, pal. I can't have a downfall because, oh!, there's no place to fall from," she growled, turning away slightly. She had no rank, no power of which he spoke of. It was just her and her feelings, acting on impulse. No one waited on her or referred to her for any advice. She was just another lioness in the world, no more important than a rock.

"Affection?" she hissed, baring her fangs. "Yeah, I've got affection. It's affection for my family, that's what it is. So stop trying to convince yourself that there is something else to me, because there's not! What you see is what you get."

She shook her head and looked at the ground. She was tired of dealing with him. He had tired her out by making her all angry, wasting away her energy when she could have been hunting for the pride or some such thing.

"I stay 'rooted in tradition' because it's what I like. This is my pride, and I'm not betraying them to go off and be a rogue," she spoke, saying the word rogue with a bit of distaste. "And besides, not everyone is like you, waiting to seize the moment. So if you'll excuse me..." She turned away and started to, but for some reason her paws stopped and she simply stood there, her back to him.

Though the blazing flames that seemed to engulf her eyes didn't turn him away, 'Duzi had come to the conclusion that he couldn't be turned away and nor woud he let himself be turned away from her. He had, surprisingly, found that he did have feelings for her since their first meeting and that had caused him to return once again to find the red lioness.

"Ah- 'O course anga' is a feelin' but there's more ya' feelin. You won' admit it an' will ya?" It was somewhat clear- defined to him that she did have feelings for him but in what degree did make him wonder.

Oh well- he was curious and wanted to know. Besides, the female should know by now that if she hadn't gotten rid of him by now its because he had found himself awed by her in some rather strange and unexplainable way.

Mipinduzi blinked, tilting his had to the side.

"Of all the sheilas out here you should 'ave a rank and if ya' uncle can't see that then why serve? Lettin' ya'self and potential rot when ya can only try to make somethin' out o' ya'self and hope you'll get what ya' deserve. Ya' worth betta' then that."

'Duzi mused silently, his tail snaking behind him as his crimson orbs fell upon her softly with a smirk.

"Then I'll take what I see," the rogue grinned, "cause what I see is a sheila whose worth much more than she think she's worth."

"An' what pride is that? Ya' pride as an individual o' your familys pride? Ya' can't keep livin' for others- someday ya' gotta live fo' you'self. Your betrayin' ya'self for stayin 'ere...are ya' really 'appy here, Rin? I can't imagin a sheila like you would want ta' stay 'ere and not 'ave a rank- that doesn't seem like you." 'Duzi bit down on his lower lip. "

I'm not askin' ta' come in- I'm not 'ere for ya family or ya' uncle, Rin."

He fell silent, breathing in softly as his shoulder relaxed.

"I'm 'ere fo' you."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 17, 2007 12:09 am

Rin scoffed, tossing her head slightly. "The only feeling I've got right now is anger, so I don't know what you are talking about. I feel nothing towards you except for anger." Of course, that was a total lie. There was something, just something about him that made her want to stay only a second longer. But she was afraid of what it was and so ran from it whenever she realized she had turned towards it.

But it was with every time that she chanced upon him that she began to wonder if this wasn't fate or some such thing. Or perhaps he kept coming back. He knew the pride that she lived with and he knew from their last encounter that she was protective of it, and yet he kept coming back despite all of her acid. It meant something.

What it was, she wasn't sure, and she was slightly afraid, so she didn't think about it. Much.

"It's not my uncle's fault he doesn't need me," she growled. "I do what I can for him by patrolling his borders and ridding the pride of any... annoyances," she said, looking him up and down again as if referring to him. Yet when he said that she was better than that, blue eyes widened slightly as she could only stare at him. Here she was, spewing hatred at him, and he wanted to compliment her. Unbelievable.

"Sorry, I'm not up for the taking," she finally managed to say, shaking her head.

Her tail flicked back and forth irritably as he continued talking. Again. "What's wrong with living for others? So long as I'm fine with it, why should you care anyways?" she asked, narrowing her eyes as if to test him.

"What do you know about me anyways?" she asked coldly, turning away. Yet just as she was willing herself to leave, he spoke that he was here for her. And it was with those words that she felt her stomach tumble uncomfortably, but also pleasantly at the same time.

"That's nice, but unlike you I've got a pride to tend to," she spoke, attempting to push him away.

"Anga'- it's somethin' much more than anga'... pe'haps somethin' that can even be a bit mo' dangerous," he commented, stretching out his forepaws as he shook his thick, black tapered mane. Looking upwards towards the red lioness with his calm, tranquil crimson orbs, 'Duzi perked his ears upwards as he continued to listen intently to her.

He seemed to chuckle to himself as she inclined him to being an annoyance. Even 'Duzi couldn't exactly deny that- but a better word for his actions would be more persistant than anything. Oh yes- Mipinduzi was driven by awe, interest and that strange sensation- dare he say it?

Love.

He blinked, tilting his head to the side at a meager angle.

"I know ya' 'ave great 'onor fo' ya' family Rin but, if he doesn't need ya' then at leas' come be with a bloke who wants ya, needs ya," he cooly spoke, his posture relaxed and calm just as his words were suave, delicate and sweet. Perhaps a bit too sweet for the lionesses liking but it was the upmost, honest truth.

"Ya migh' not be up fo' ta' takin' but you're lookin' ta run someplace else, waitin' fo' someone ta' take ya somewhere," he added, a sweet, tender smile gracing across his maw.

Oh yes. And each question she asked her answered.

He kept talking.

"Ya' gotta live fo' ya'self. Any bloke or sheila can live fo' anotha' but what good is livin' if ya not even wanted? Ya' not livin if it ain't fo' a purpose. Live fo' a cause- live fo' somethin, live for someone." He shrugged his shoulders, "Because- honestly, Rin..."

But as she turned away, and began to spoke coldly, 'Duzi stopped himself from speaking and listened to her once again. What did he know about her.

"Well ya' 'aven't said much o' anythin' besides 'bout tendin' ta ya uncles pride and livin' fo' otha's and wantin' ta rip me apart," he laughed softly, taking a step forwards. "But I want ta' get ta' know ya' betta'... there's so much ta' ya that I wanna know, you're a lioness that I think I'm fallin' paw ova' tail fo'."

Was he even getting through to her?

Somewhat.

'Duzi had made some serious progress but, now he needed to put his cards on the table.

"I'm in love wid' ya, Rin."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 17, 2007 1:12 am

Rin shook her head. "It's anger. I don't know why you want to turn it into something else," she growled. "Just let it be, damn."

As he spoke of how she could possibly leave the pride and go with someone who appreciates her more than her uncle, she scoffed again. "Even if he doesn't appreciate me, that gives me no excuse to leave my duties, to abandon my pride." If he was in a pride, he'd have some idea of what it felt like to be loyal and to have a purpose within something, even if that purpose wasn't recognized.

But one thing that distracted her from everything was the fact that he had said 'come be with a bloke' and not 'go with a bloke.' Was he talking about... her going with him? It almost made her laugh! And yet...

"How do you know what I'm looking to do or to not do?" she growled, flicking her tail in annoyance. There he went again, assuming he knew things about her that he really didn't. At least not completely. "I'm living just fine, thank you. I don't need some rogue coming in here and screwing with things, got it? Before you went all philosophical on me, I was doing just fine. Now I'm just effin' pissed. I don't know why you think my lifestyle is so wrong."

The red female shook her head, turning away from him yet again. But then he went into his little confession and she stopped dead in her tracks. He was getting mushy. Way mushy. He admitted that he was falling for her and that... he LOVED her?!

Rin nearly balked and fell to the ground as the words hit her rounded ears. He loved her. And she? How did she feel about it all?

"Wh-what?" she stammered, turning around despite herself. "What'd you say?" she asked, almost not believing that what she heard was actually what he had said. It couldn't be true, could it? She wasn't sure what she wanted..

'Duzi's temper was sublevel but Rin seemed to making it a hell of a lot harder. He still was philosophical but, in truth, he hadn't planned on becoming love struck- he hadn't really deciphered how that had happened but, one thing was for sure, he was in love.

The crimson and black striped male was quite a sweet talker but telling Rin his feelings and trying to make her understand was a definate challenge yet interesting none the less.

And, of course, 'Duzi had wasted enough time easing into it that he had decided to break the ice and tell her.

About damn time!

And if it wasn't for the immense relief that suddenly freed itself, he couldn't help but let a small smile creep across his maw just as it seemed that the red lioness stopped dead in her tracks and turned around.

Take two!

Leveling his crimson orbs with her pools of brilliant blue, Mipinduzi, gave a tender smile as his eyes seemed to gaze into those of the red lioness's. "I said I love ya', Rin," he calmly spoke, his tail swaying smoothly behind him. "I said I love ya and I wan' ta' be wid' ya. I tried ta' figh' it...but I can't anymore. Don' be foolin' ya'self- ya lookin' fo' someone ta' show ya some decen' affection' and I wanna be that bloke."
