Salvete,

My name is Amanda and I have decided to create my own guild for discussing the classics because the one's I have been participating in are unsatisfactory, and run by people who haven't the slightest what they are talking about! However, that's besides the point.

I am a second year classics major (art and archaeology) at a Canadian university, thus have subjected myself to four years of Latin! I am
specializing in Roman religion and (Greek) mythology.

My goal is to build a strong community here of people who are very interested about antiquities, all I ask is that we are all respectful towards one another 3nodding .

I would like it if you all posted something about yourselves here, this way everyone can get aquanted with eachother.

I will be purchasing more forums and I would like to have forums specifically for Roman, Greek, and "other history". And a Latin and Greek language forum.

I am of course, open for suggestions wink

By the way; Thank you to those who have helped me get this guild started, and who will continue to help me for as long as we have it! (which I am hoping is a VERY long time)

Hi,

My name is Jamie, I'm Amanda's colleague from university. Also a second year classics major (ancient art and archaeology), specializing in Roman military history.

I also enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelit dinners, chick flicks... sweatdrop

Thank you for inviting me, Ariadnae.

I am Richard, and I am glad to be a part of this guild. I hope it flourishes like a garden. That can be possible if we water it each day. wink

Hello.
I'm Outi, but please just call me Xeni.
I'm here because I was invited. And I'm Xenite and because of that very interested about (especially) Greek mythology. Or maybe it's other way around, can't be sure...

Ariadnae invited me, so I clicked "accept". I'm SilverDratini and I enjoy killing people reading.

So this is my introduction for all but Amanda here as the rest of you wouldn't have a clue of who I am.

I am Jesse. I attended highschool with Amanda at that cursed building by preps and ancient math teachers in which one just might be from Roman times (Mr Jackson).

I am not studying ancient civilizations nor do I remember reading into details of it but my knowledge of events seems to exsist regardless. I don't know how to read either languages but that doesn't mean I don't know about events and stratigies and important information. I am an artist at an art school and I enjoy reading psychology, philosophy, and Philip K d**k.

I'm Dee and I suspect both Dratini and Kirk are a couple of push-overs when it comes right down to it. mrgreen

I actually have a degree in the Classics - somewhere, I know I saw it just the other day - and I'll make it a point to drop in here every day.

Hi, I've done Latin in high school, and like studying mythology and culture from ancient Greece and Rome. So anyway hi.

I'm Bill, but please just call me sheep.

I like studying mythology, and I also like the catchy name.

e: Sadly, the only language I know other than English is barbaric German.

I'm Alexei, I suppose, though online I honestly prefer to go by Keshi.
While I'm no aficionado of Greco-Roman literature, i know a bit about it and enjoy reading it more than any other mythology. Who have the Norse tragic opera when you can have the Greek soap opera, after all?
I have base interests in a cultured context. And that's about it.

Il Purgatorio..I think we`ve got a Danté lovin papist on our hands ninja

I'm only kidding (is Catholic). Athenian Tetradrachms are pretty, it still amazes me why the old lire had Athena on it with an olive tree... Anyways, I had a Roman coin from the Valentinian era, and then managed to lose it.

The more people here with latin background, the better 3nodding I am providing very basic latin grammar outlines for those who wish to know about the language.

It's 4am and I'm still ranting on... gonk
