((Alice))

"Yes...I'm your teacher. You better get used to it, kid, because I'm gonna be the only friendly face you'll see for a long ********' time."

Bob grumbled. His wife, having warmed up to the situation, warily took a seat down on a couch in the other room. She was watching intently.

"Alright kid. You stand there. Let me do some work."

He closed his eyes, rotating his hands like before, all the while muttering inaudible incantations under his breath. Then, out of the blue, his right hand shot out, clasping your forehead tightly. Fighting the urge to push the creep off of you, you let him grip your skull, his bloodshot eyes rolling to the back of his head...

An unprecedented torrent of wind swept through the apartment; blowing papers, pictures, and whatever hair the middle-ager still had, it seemed to fill the room with life. Soon, the wind was rushing all around you, and a faint white light filled the room as Bob lifted his head toward the sky, mouth hanging open.

This wind grew stronger! Your head, burning and freezing at the same time, was now glowing a bright white. So was Bob's hand, and soon, his entire body! A hurricane seemed to ravish the room, and even Bob's wife had to try to keep the small "kitchen table" from being completely lifted up! Bob screamed suddenly - a deep, earthy tone bellowed from within him as you stood there, mezmerized...almost feeling...drained...

The, just as the room itself seemed to be at its breaking point, everything stopped. He released his hand, staggering back and clutching his own...the previously tumultuous room was now silent...even the once powerful wind had ceased to exist, and Bob's wife, seeing that she was no longer needd, let out a whimper and returned to her seat promptly. Someone knocked on the wall...hah. Guess they made a little too much "noise", then, eh? Didn't matter. This was far too important.

Bob, still massaging his forehead, turned back to you.

"s**t...guess I'm a little rusty....damn headache...but...I got what I was looking for. I saw your Block 1 future...well, more like your future growth...

Basically, we define every increase of power and skill as a 'Level'. You're level 1...still weak...and I saw both planes of your 'statistics'...basically, what makes you...you. Here, let me write them out for you. And don't ask me what the second-plane ones mean, because I have no idea, to this day...I'm only level 38 myself..."

On a greasy napkin, he scribbled:

<>
Level 1
HP: 30/30
MP: 10/10
Exp: 0/50
Skills (to come):
<>
<>
<>
<>
<>
<>
<>
...and more, I'd assume.

<>
STR 3
AGI 3
DEX 0
VIT 0
INT 8
Outburst(s):
Eraser

"There. Don't you feel special? Here, I'll make it easier."

Quickly, he rotated a finger, as if slowly opening a combination lock, and stoped at a certain point. Looking at her...with blue eyes...he simply said..."Imagine."

Blinking changed his eye color back again. Weird...

"Alright. Now you'll always know when you level up. Most people are born with this ability these days, but I'm just making sure. I couldn't, at first...anyways, there's a look at what you can do. Any questions before we move on?"

[Edited Bob's first history lesson to make it make more sense, especially the Lonarian section.]

((thank you! And do I copy and paste the level stuff into my profile?))
Alice took the piece of paper to memorize it, then folded it and stuffed it into the mini pocket of her shirt. " She was still trying to hold down her food. "How do I do that?" She asked leaning on a the table. "How do I get to a higher level?" She was ready to start training. If in fact she was a succubus she would have to face her kind some day.

((Alice))

[Yes. Copy and paste them.]

Bob smiled.

"You got gusto, kid, and I appreciate that...so, you know what, I'm going to give you a little break. I know what succubae can...basically do...so, let me see if you can reach down in that black little soul of yours and show me a trick." He rubbed his chin, pacing slightly. What was he up to here?

Snapping his fingers, Bob suddenly came to a decision.

"Alright. Now, I'm not gonna guide you here...I'm just gonna watch the first few times. ...I want you to cast me a nice, juicy fire spell. Come on! You won't need any incantation; that's just for us "Magicitics". But you, you're pure bred Lonarian gold! I wanna see you burn something! ...oh, and don't forget, though this whole class thing might seemed rushed and thinly organized, you gotta remember two things...We don't have time, and I know you better than yourself...oh. A third. I'm ******** tired...now cast some fire, kid. Come on."

...uh....what?

Alice claped her hands together and cracked her neck to loosen up. "Ok. I can do this..." She closed her eyes and put her hands to the side. At first nothing happened, but suddenly she felt heat starting in her chest and spreading all the way down to her fingertips and beyond. She could feel herself guiding the heat towards the chair infront of her. There was a deep silence until a loud crack was followed by fire. The chair just started burning, the plastic parts started dissolving and the wooden ones burned into a pile of ashes in less than a few seconds. The fire traced it's way back to the table making an 'u' turn. Alice pulled it towards herself to keep the table from catching on fire and then the fire burned bright purple and then it was gone. She turned around, "What-what was that?"

((Alice))

Though she had conjured some form of flame, it still wasn't good enough.

"That's what I'd call spell tourettes. You need to control it, kid. Just let a little flame focus through your fingertips...in fact, focus on the emotion, the...uh, the warmth you feel inside and out whenever you see or feel flame...here, try this. Hold out your palm, close your eyes, and do the same thing...feel the flame. Live the flame...don't burn my ******** HOUSE down...hm? Okay. Try it. And do not open your eyes until I tell you to..."

Alice closed her eyes again, "whatever you say." She rolled her shoulders back and concentrated on the same feeling of warmth. She let it grow and reach out, it was easier when there was someone standing next to her, if made her feel less silly. She felt a flame start, only this time it seemed to float on midair instead of burning on the ground or on furniture. She left it grow, her eyes still closed.

((Alice))

Bob's voice seemed to come from the entirety of the room. He was probably pacing....

"Good. Keep your eyes closed. I'm going to experiment here...think of an object. Do not tell me this object...think of it. Describe it in your mind...every aspect...every...emotion or feeling you might have when thinking of it. Just...think of it...but keep that flame going...and your eyes closed..."

Alice kept her eyes closed. It took her a while to think of anything, but in the end only a snake popped in her mind. She could almost feel the texture of it's skin, and the way it moved and slid through space. She concentrated on the way it arched it's back before attacking, and how its head moved from side to side looking for anything that moved.

((Alice))

"Ah...good...you really are a succubus, aren't you? Only you would have thought of the Devil's truest form...very nice. Open your eyes. You've got this flame thing down really well. Now, keep the flame going, and look. You've got a pretty nice serpent there, eh? ...*Ahem* No jokes on that one, kid..."

Alice opened her now red eyes to see the trail of flame as it moved from side to side making a large 's'. "That's so.. weird..." She said as she made the head of the snake nod up and down as if agreeing with her. "So this succubus heritage, how come I didn't find out before?" She asked not taking her eyes off the flame.

((Alice))

Bob spoke as he circled you.

"Well, you were born with it, I'm afraid...that'll explain all those 'weird' experiences you've been having lately. Say, has anyone...important to you, someone you loved, uh...leave you recently? I don't mean dying. I mean flat out fleeing from you. Without a trace, so to speak."

Alice followed the sound of his voice as he walked around her. She kept her eyes lowered until he spoke about people 'leaving'. She had enough experience with people leaving her, most without a trace. "Yes, my girlfriend--Josephine. She was..." She struggled to remember past all her drinking nights. "We went out for a while, and one night she just left... that's when I started.." She hesitated to admitt she was a drunk. "That's when I started drinking. She never came back..." The fire snake turned a pale green and shrunk into a ball.

((Alice))

He watched closely as the poor girl's creation died in her hands, just like any fragments of a normal life that she had hoped to piece together.

"Hm. I'm glad you told me. This could help gain some insight as to what exactly you can do...I mean, of course I know the basics...but only you can figure out the rest. Okay. We're done with fire. Now, I want you to try to...teleport. Ha ha...I know it's a huge step...but we'll start simple. I want you to focus on the rug right in front of my couch, over to the right here...Focus intensely, and block out everything else...then, I want you to say...uh...s**t, what was it? Um...Ssifris Corabris...yes. That's it. This one, being very powerful, will require some outside influence, some...physical stimulus. Hence, the incantation. If you pull this off...we may have something here..."

He waited patiently. Oh, God...this was a huge leap in difficulty. No pun intended.

Alice closed her eyes again, "ssifris Carba...?" she said half-stunned as the floor moved around her. She had in fact messed up, and was now somewhere in the roof. She could feel the air around her swirl and sway her from side to side. At first she was afraid of opening her eyes, for a good reason. She had barely landed on the edge, and was just inches away from a horrible death. "********!" She said throwing herself to back to the building. She sat n the ground in shock as she wandered what the hell had gone wrong.
