My company's doing the second act of it this year for our "Spring Showcase". I'm a wili. I now know why our company has not done Giselle before. It's really fluking painful. The chor stands more than it dances, And, of course, Erin DEMANDS perfection from all of us. I am 16. I am the oldest girl taking classes at my acadamy (except the girl playing Myrtha, but she's only older than me by a few months). The girl playing Giselle is a Sophmore in High School. No, we're not professional and yes, we all love to complain when Erin pushes us. So people are getting upset and tired while getting yelled at for not inclining their heads just right and not having their legs up at 90 for the chugs.
And we're only doing second act. Imagine the whining and complaining that would come if we did the whole thing. eek
Just thought I'd let you all know. :]
EDIT: Last performance was yesterday. Everyone in the audience hated Giselle, saying it was boring and depressing xD. but they loved the rest of the performance. The part that was all original choreography and no storyline xD

I LOVE Giselle.
It was the first ballet I ever went to see and the ballet that got me dancing. ^.^
Anyhoo, I'm sure you'll be fine!

Well, yeah, it's a beautiful ballet. I personally love it. I'd love to WATCH it. But actually dancing it hurts xD

Giselle was I believe that third ballet I was in, I loved it, but then I was young and didn't have a major role. I was on stage with my class for about five minutes. I loved it, it was one of my favorite ballets to dance in, and I love the costumes for it.

Giselle is amazing, but notorious for being difficult.
