Tommy was going to do it...by God, he had waited this long...gone through agonizing changes...lost his hands...lost his humanity...he was going to do it. With one final groan, the Bat-man heaved himself onto the top of his duplex using mostly just his thumbs. It took him a moment to compose himself after that...catching his breath and the like as he let the cool night air caress his wings. With a grin, he stretched out his wings to their full span, already feeling the resistance of the wind against them.

Victor was crawling his way back to his own Duplex after getting something to eat at the caferteria, this time managing not to get anything broken, but the task still wasn't easy, it was a struggle to get himself food to eat, and had taken the habit of eating later, to avoid others seeing him.
However on his way back to his duplex, Victor took a short detour, he wanted to see if Tommy was in his duplex. After his talk with the Bat-man, Victor had been a little worried for his friend, and wanted to check up on him, He had double checked the list in the cafe before heading towards duplex 54, realizing once he got there that he had to climb up the stairs to knock on Tommy's door.
With a short sigh, Victor took a step up the stairs, another new challange for him as he put one foot in front of the other, noisily working up the steps as his claws scratched and scrapped into the wood. He definately wasn't sneaking up on anyone tonight.

Tommy took in a deep breath and let it out, his black beady eyes taking in the nightscape around him. Besides the slight ache from his latest chage...and the fact that his eyes sucked even worse than ever...he honestly felt pretty good. He gave his wings a few experimental flaps, just to get the feel for what kind of lift he'd generate...if he could flap at all to help him out, or if it was gliding only.
Suddenly though, a sound reached his enlarged ears...immediately he let out a long stream of echolocation bursts...the crystal clear image of the surrounding area instantly developing in his mind. A grin appeared on his fanged face and he peered over the edge of the roof.
"VICTOR!" he yelled out to the lizard-man below him.

"AAHH!" Victor shouted in surprise as he fell onto the staircase, but luckily he didn't fall down them any further as he looked around, and then eventually up towards the source of the sound, which was...Tommy? Victor recognised the man's voice more than he did Tommy's face
"Tommy! issss thhat you? whhat arre you doing up thherre?" Victor asked as he crawled further up the steps outside of Tommy's duplex door, the closest he could get to the Bat man.
"You Chhangged, hhope you'rre alrrigghht"

Tommy gave Victor a huge grin as he hopped back and forth from one wing to another. His was ecstatic now...something about the whole situation just made him happy. He was going to fly! And Victor was there to watch!
"Huh? Oh! YEAH yeahyeah...it's a me, Tommy! VICTOR! How's it hangin' HAH! Seriously though...I'm gonna JUMP! Yeah! Wanna watch!?"

Victor's eyes grew wide at the prospect of Tommy actually jumping off of a two story building in an attempt to fly, and the bat-man's erratic behavor
"Tommy! thhatssss too hhigghh up.... Whhy don't you ccome down? you can trry...jumping of one of the duplexs by thhe lakke? itsss sssshhorrterr, and you can't...gget hhurrt thhat way, you can land in the lakke"
The Lizardman really hoped Tommy would listen to him, Victor really didn't want to think how bad Tommy might hurt jumping off his duplex

Tommy searched Victor with his beady eyes for a moment, seemingly in thought as his wings twitched, ready to be out and about sooner than he was ready. "Ahh...Nah, think I'm gonna jump off now...Seeya in the air, Victor!" he called out as he backed up away from the edge and spread his wings. Victor wouldn't be able to hear or see Tommy for a moment...a long drawn out moment...until suddenly, the bat-man's maw popped out from the edge of his roof again.
"Gotcha! HAH! Now..." he said while resting his head on his thumb/claw, "What's this you're talkin' bout now?"

Victor was started as Tommy seemed to get ready to actually jump off the high Duplex. "Tommy? ccome bacckk overr herre!" Victor tried to shout at the Bat-man, waiting for that tense moment before Tommy's batlike face leaned back over the roof's edge.
"Tommy! Don't do thhat!" Victor said as he looked up at his friend, and the bat's beady black eyes. "Jussst ccome down hherre a minute Tommy, it be eassssierr if I ssshhow you...be ggoingg to thhe lakke"
The Lizardman started to back up to crawl down the stairs backwards, there wasn't enough room for Victor to turn himself around and the lizardman wasn't confident in himself to try crawling back down the stairs face first and maybe fall

Tommy just grinned once more and nodded a few times, "You got a better place? Cool! I'll be...right...down," he said while trailing off, looking for a place get off of the roof. "Huh..." he said slowly, glancing down at Victor for a moment before looking around...stretching one wing out to feel out the winds. "Weeellll....I think there's only one way down, Victor!" he called out before backing up out of sight once more.
One more time, there's a deadly silence...a long...drawn out moment...
The next thing Victor would see is Tommy launching himself from the rooftop...wings spread out once his powerful frame leaped him high into the air. And...to his own amazement...he actually glides! For...about ten feet before a slight change in his wing position causes him to begin losing altitude quickly. A stream of curses follows Tommy down until he smacks into the dirt, rolling for about six feet before coming to a stop.
He doesn't move from that position.

Victor tried shouting again, to get Tommy's attention to talk him down, but the next moment, The lizardman feels his heart stop a moment as he sees Tommy actually jump from the duplex roof. For a breif moment, it acutally looks like Tommy is gliding though the air, until he goes down and crashes, rolling though the dirt.
"TOMMY!" Victor shouted loudly, squirming his way down the stairs as fast as he can backwards, cursing under his breath. "sshhit sshhit sshhit..." he got to the bottom of the stairs and rapidly crawled his way over to tommy's still body
"Tommy, Tommy....gget up, gget up.." Victor moved over closer and put a clawed hand on tommy's shoulder, gently shaking and hoping Tommy would stir

Tommy didn't move for a moment, even as Victor shook him...he was too busy have a flashback of his childhood...a certain character on a certain show that reminded him too much of the current situation. Goddamn his head hurt...
Finally, he began to stir due to Victor's increasing shaking. Groggily, a very human gesture came over him as he lifted a wing and rubbed his forehead with it. "...I meant to do that," he said slowly while blinking his eyes open to Victor.

Victor frowned, and even gave Tommy's shoulder a short cuff with his hand
"Whhat werre you thhinkkingg? you ccould hhave ggotten yourrsself kkilled!"
The lizardman looked Tommy over, getting his first real good closeup look at how much the Bat Man had changed...he really was done changing then?
"You ougghht to be morre ccarreful, and trry thhat at a lowerrr hheiggght Tommy" Victor said waiting a moment before finally asking "you alrrigghht?"

Tommy let out a groan and flopped over onto his back, his impressive wingspan fully out to either side of him. He blinked a few times and trained his black eyes onto Victor. Overall, Tommy mostly just looked really dusty, his fur and the combat roll he pulled off took most of the brunt of the crash. "Yeeaaahhh...I dunno. I kinda hurt everywhere...goddamn, that was stupid, wasn't it?" He shook his head from side to side, trying to clear it of the foggyness.
"...you got a better place in mind?" he asked finally.

"I trried to tell you and talkk you down sssso I ccould sshhow you, but you jumped beforre I ccould" Victor told Tommy, turning to point his hand off at one of the single story duplexes by the lake.
"You ccan trry one of thhosssse duplexesss and try...jumping out towarrds the lakke ssso if you do messss up you only land in the waterr" Victor sighed as he crawled over closer and offered Tommy a hand to try and help his friend up. "ccomeon, you need ssssome painkkillerrsss beforre you trry thhat sssstunt aggain?"

Tommy blinked a few times as he looked from Victor...to his duplex...back to Victor, "Yeah...that wasn't the brightest thing I've done in my life..." He shook his head once more before hooking a thumb around Victor's outstretched hand so he could sit up. It took him a moment, but eventually, he righted himself onto all fours once again. "There we go..." he said with a groan, "But nah...I think painkillers are what got me in this situation to begin with..."
As Victor mentioned the lake-side duplexes, he hummed a bit, letting out a chittering noise, as he tried to peer in that direction. "Goddamn...my eyes still suck," he said with a sigh, "I...I can't see in color anymore...everything's just...shades of gray."
