Alright, so I go into this Guild and all, thinking, "Oh wow, Skip Beat! fans, so kewl" and all and I go into the guild forum and Whoop-de-flippin-do, I see fifteen or something "I'm new" threads, and er...what was it...a sticky or something, well there was an official thread for introducing yourself. I find that depressing.

Now that I've got that off my chest...

actually, at this point, kyoko does not realize any feeling of the sort and couldn't possibly handle having any feeling of the sort towards ren such as love. and even in the latest chapters, kyoko would still probably not be able to even conceive of developing feelings of 'true love' towards anyone, even ren. kyoko caring for him is completely because of her 'true nature' as ren said so himself, or thought to himself, that she puts 100% effort into everything she does whether it's something she likes doing or whether it's something she absolutely hates. and besides her complete dedication, she's also got that really caring side of her and recognizes the good in others so even though she sees ren as such a jerk (for now) she's also seen some good sides to him and she's recognized his maturity and all that so she can't deny that he's got admirable qualities, and towards such an admirable person, she can't help but act respectfully by putting all her effort into being a useful manager. kyoko wouldn't have been satisfied if she put out any less effort because she's out to do a good job, so if you mean that she 'likes' ren as in the 'love' like, then i'd have to disagree with you. and even in vol 6, i'm not so sure that i'd call that 'like.'

even so, you can see that she's not ready yet when ren tried to make a move on her and she was absolutely horror stricken, she also went out of her way to not fall into ren's arms when she was falling from the trailer. if kyoko were to think that her feelings for ren were love, i think that she would do anything she could to get rid of those feelings. she's undergone many changes since she pledged revenge on sho, but i still don't think that it's enough to allow her to love that way. i wouldn't try to refute ren's importance to her for one moment, but they both have a ways to go for them to be ready for a relationship together.

i agree that it is getting closer and closer to a mutual love between the two, especially since ren's 50% is already there and kyoko's building up her half of it too so they're already more than halfway there to mutual reciprocation. the chances are even heightened with ren's determination being fueled and i guess the only thing left is for realization and acceptance to hit kyoko.

it's true that kyoko's still a child to love (and i don't find ren being much better off seeing as kyoko's the first person he's ever fallen in love with and he didn't even know that he never was in love before even with his ex girlfriends sweatdrop ). the one and only experience in love kyoko had was too purely childlike that it isn't simply a heartbreak but i would go as far as to say that it was a trauma. so in this case, the maturation of the person isn't the only necessary element, she has to really recuperate from that.

i see that she's getting there and it's been fairly smooth sailing in the light that she's developed a familiar assurance when she's around ren and there has been minimal doubt harbored towards ren during the latest developments, but i think the sailing's too smooth. there's always that one huge setback when you deal with this sort of thing and i can imagine that even the now passionately steadfast ren will be threatened to a point where it may look like there's serious danger towards their prospective relationship.

another challenge, other than ren and kyoko's critical judgment of themselves and not allowing themselves to think that they may mean more to each other than they would think, is kyoko's constant labeling of ren as a mentor-like friend. even when ::kuu was being insulting, telling kyoko to serve the food he messed up to the star of the new dark moon, kyoko replying with a 'please remember that he's an actor far greater than you,' and kuu asking kyoko she had any special feelings towards him, she had to come out and say something like 'of course, i respect him greatly!!' and she refers to him as an actor of holy/godly stature (^^U ren as the saint with a halo around his head, carying the actor's bible):: and the worst of it is that she says that sort of thing with no second thought and she's so fixed in that state of mind that it seems like it would be serious offense to suggest to her otherwise. no doubt, if asked 'what is tsuruga ren to you' she'd respond with something like 'a sempai deserving of the highest praise, honor, and respect.' and hey, some people feel towards religion similar feelings kyoko has towards ren; safety, reverence, awe, etc.

and even though i say all this, i have no doubt that ren and kyoko will have a happy ending together where sho and whatever other romance obstacles will be of no significance, absolutely certain that the two of them will find the love for each other surpassing any ordeals thrown their way. but i'm sorta glad that they haven't reached that point yet 'cause it makes for some interesting plot advancements.
