You know how when you invent a character you sort of get in thier head and watch what unfolds and write down likea super secret spy? Okay, so maybe you don't think of it that way. But any how to majorly annoying problem. I can't get in Mina's head. Her mother was killed when she was about three by soldeirs who were after her (Mina) becuase of who her fatherv was. Her heritage made her very specail they want to do something to her (but not kill). However her mum hid her before the soldiers come and she is raised in the village undera adoptive name Kadlin. However, besides the fact that i suck at fanatsy i can't get into Mina's head a girl who is mute becasue her mum cast a spell on her in a panic the night she was killed. I just can't get the story right! Help? anyone?I know my post is confusing.

Try not talking for an entire day. Inform your friends and parents ahead of time so they know. If you are doing it on a school day, yes, you have to talk to your teachers at least. I'm not sure if this will work, but it might with figuring out what it's like to not be able to talk.

I always write down everything on a piece of paper and then step-by-step look at it and take into consideration every aspect of my character. I will the try to picture their lives in my mind. If that doesn't work, give your notes to someone else to have them draw it for me. (That is where Raven comes in handy for me.)

I suppose that would work!
Wow, Cheese isn't quite sure what to do.... She's had this problem before, but the answer seems to be different for everybody...
What Cheese does is imagine the character in every situation imaginable. Even if you wouldn't include the scene in the story, just let it play out in your head. Afterwards, ask yourself why your character made the decisions they did, and how they felt about the consequences, good or bad. These scenes don't have to be plausible to your character- for example, if you have a character who's a vampire in the 1600s, it works just as well to imagine a scene where they're a human in present times- all that matters is that the character is the same person in each scene. The questions I ask myself about the character really help me to understand them!

X_X Once again, Toro fears that no one read her post. Perhaps making Toro's avvie simple makes her posts invisible...

your idea is good except my friends would take it as a challenege... They would spend the wholpe telling jokes or teasing me trying to get a response to ruin all my work for the first part of the day. Sorry, I forgot to reply to your post.

Yeah, great advice, but mine would do the same things. ... .. ... Man, why do I even bother posting here? I bet you've figured things out, and this topic is dead. *sigh* I guess I just REALLY need a distraction from homework. emo

Yeah, I pretty much put it in a way it is sort of a diray of two people. However, if you can think of any old religious poety you could send me a link to that would be great. I need a model since my main charcter works in a pagan temple.
