Okay...I've finally got time to play games again and have thoroughly addicted m'self to my DS Lite. I'm looking for game reccomendations, and I figured everyone here was geeky enough to have an opinion.
Suggestions? Warnings? Random stuff?

The Big Brained Academy set was fun for "mind simulation". It always gave me light insults, which were amusing. I'm not a huge fan of Pokemon, but I hear the Diamond/Peal set has excellent graphics. But, at heart, I'm an old school kid. My favorites are Atari Classics, and Super Mario Bros. Although, Final Fantasy III was amazing.

New Super Mario Bros is good and so is FFIII. Star Fox Command is good if you don't mind the weird controls. These are gameboy advance games but Super Robot Taisen 1 or 2 are both really good games. I used to play Pokemon but that was just when they came out with red and blue.

Harvest Rune sounds interesting. But, farming+RPG=??? For DS games, I'd recommend Phoenix Wright:Ace Attorny, if you like a challenge. (and reading. There's lotsa that 3nodding )

It depends on what you like. There are at least a dozen genres represented under the DS heading...
Rune Factory (the fighting-farming game) is one that I recently picked back up because I want to beat it. It's a little tedious, but if you have a lot of time to kill regularly, it's pretty good. It has a little voice acting in it, but this is not a game that will be remembered for its sound.
On a similar note, if you like Harvest Moon games, I don't recommend Island of Happiness unless you like using your stylus all the time. And I mean ALL the time.
Animal Crossing is a classic; highly recommend it, especially if you have friends who play the game. Mario Kart DS is good if you're into racing games, and PuyoPuyo is a good puzzle game if you can find it.
If you're looking to learn a new language or brush up on your SAT scores, try the Coach series: My Spanish Coach, My SAT Coach, My Quit Smoking Coach, etc. I think the system is well-done for those, but it can be kind of forgettable.
Whoops, didn't realize this thread was two years old... sweatdrop
