There is a link to a graphic pic in here. If you're a tad squeamish, then don't click on it. I'm not sure if this is a redundant topic or not, but I feel like talking about it.
I read a lot of fanfiction, and most of it states that 2D does not have eyes, which, I might add, is a stupid notion, considering he can see. His eye sockets are not empty, just injured.
Being the dork that I am, I looked up his condition ("eight ball fracture", I believe it's called), and found this.
Why am I bringing this up? No reason other than to show you all what his eyes would look like in real life: not all black, but red cornea, and darkened retina.
Guess that's it.

That's creepy.
But it does make sense, because he can still see. Only he doesn't have those massive bruises underneath his eyes.

I always thought because he was animated, they just made them dented like that...I dunno how to explain my thoughts...
But you notice that the things that happen to them are quite strange and unexplainable?
That's just me...Even though I know his eyes aren't logical or whatnot.

Yeah, I notice that in the Feel Good inc. vid. I was like "He's got red round his eyes...blood?"
And in most of my fanfics I describe his eyes as "blood-blackened." Lately I've taken to hollow, but I still throw the blood in there, cos that's what they are, filled with blood. Eeek, that sounds so...painful!!
Dunno why I always think of hollow though, maybe cos they're black, or that his nick name is Two Dents. Too confusing, I'm giving up until tomorrow!

I was probably hitting about 90, when 2D got catapulted through the windscreen. He flew about 500 yards, landing face-first on a kerb. Er . . . oops!

Murdoc: Yeah. That's when your second eye went. You flew through the windscreen at about 70 miles an hour, landing on your head once more. You skidded on your face for maybe half a mile, but when you came round, my God!

Murdoc: He stood up really slowly, his back still towards me, and really slowly turned around, like one of the zombies in those films he watches, and there were . . . no eyes! Just two black holes, a vacant stare.
