So before states Our director is trying to clean up all the "followers" and get them to be able to function confidently on their own accord. He's put us in scramble order. Mostly a basses with Sopranos and Tenors with the Altos thing. I know my part pretty well so I guess I'm okay with it, but it surprised me how many people got really shaken by having to mix and be by different people. I don't see it as that huge a deal, but a bunch of people clammed u a lot more then I expected. (Also theres this one bass behind me and he's really kinda blasty if ya know what I mean. It makes my head hurt alittle with him right by my ear)

Singing by people who are different parts can help alot. This is because you have to listen harder in order to hear your part which helps with getting the right pitches and blending more. It also helps you become more confident with what you are singing because you have to really know what you are singing to decifer your notes from the other parts. It's a challenge to sing while being surrounded by people who sing a different part, but it helps make you a better singer.
In show choir, we have to dance and they dont always place sapranos with sapranos and altos with altos so we have to learn how to sing our own part, while dancing, surrounded by people who are singing the other parts as well. It's difficult but fun and once you get the hang of it, it gets a little easier. =]

I love singing in mixed formation. It helps me hear how my part fits with the others better.

It really is kinda neat to hear it when you get in a full mix formation. The altos like to screw up and try to follow us sopranos up when we do though so our director likes to keep the altos mixed with tenors and sopranos with basses to avoid discrepancies.

Our choir tried to do that, but so many people complained and screwed up he had to put us back gonk I think mixing is really great because it sounds cooler and more even throughout and it teaches people how to read their music and not just depend on the person next to them
