I was reccently reading an article in the newspaper that states: The vatican has ruled that limbo does not exist, opening the gates of heaven to babies who die unbaptised. "The many factors that we have considered...give serious theological and liturgical grounds for hope that unbaptised infants who die will be saved," says a document published by the US magazine 'Origins' with the approval of Pope Benedict XVI.

Now when I read this, two issues arose personally.
1. How on earth do so many people follow a religion that can be constantly changed and is open for interrpretation (not by that masses but by a select few HUMANS). When something is changed after so many years of tradition, so easily, it makes you wonder how true the statement that 'god's word' is ever relevant, and how much of God's word actually still exists or ever did. I'm increasingly leaning to the thought that the bible and god are a clever propaganda scheme.
2. The thought that babies, often still-born, are placed in Limbo because their 'original sin' has not been expunged really doesn't sit well with me, and I would never think twice about following a religion that suggested this was the case in the first place.

Like just assuming that a large group of foreigners and dead people is always right irrespective of what they say was ever sensible? Nobody would think that that's a good idea in the absence of being told to in childhood, trauma, or gullibility.

This just underlines the rediculousness of religion. It has nothing to do with the divine, and everything to do with people telling other people what to do.
