Hey everyone ^_^ I just wanted to stop in, introduce myself and ask a few questions.

My name is Paige. I've been in this guild for a while, but never really worked up the courage to post redface xd I'm 21 (not sure if I'm older than y'all or not), and I've been dating my boyfriend for a year now. So, hello to everyone!

Anywho, I stopped taking BC pills around the first week of April. I didn't like the crazy side effects I was getting. Well, I got my period (8th through 12'th) right after I stopped taking them , and ovulated the week after (on the 18th). My boyfriend and I did the horizontal tango the night before, the day of, and the day after ovulation. Since then I really haven't felt like myself. It's small things, headaches, fatigue, abdominal cramping, GERD (it makes you feel like you have something stuck in your esophagus gonk ), nausea, and changes in appetite.

I also chart my cervical mucus and position. My cervix is still high and rather soft, and the mucus is thin, clear and slick. My montgomery glands are also raised and pimple-like. Now, I'm not sure if this is all a side effect of going off of the BC pills or if I may be pregnant.

Has anyone else had a simmilar experience, coming off birth control or not? I know it's only 6 days past ovulation, so would it be too early to attribute any of these syptoms to pregnancy?

Thanks everyone ^_^

Hello, Paige. Yeah, six days is kind of early for most symptoms. You can never really go by symptoms anyway. The symptoms for early pregnancy are the same as symptoms of dozens of other things. The only way to really know is to test. Keep in mind that a lot of people don't show up as pregnant on their first test, so don't be afraid to wait a few days or a week and test again if you are negative.

Nice to have you post, Paige!
If all those things have changed, I'd go talk to your doctor. Six days is... well... way, way too early for much of ANY change.
More than likely, it's a side effect of stopping your hormonal birth control.
GERD is a actual syndrome, do you mean you've got silent reflux (meaning it comes up in your throat, but you don't puke)? Because if you've got actual GERD, you should be on medication.

Yeah, I have GERD, it's just worse now. I'm not on medication for it though. I have the partial reflux, but now I feel like I've gotten something stuck in my throat half the day. I took a Zantac and I felt better though ^_^

I'm thinking that a lot of what I am feeling could be because of the birth control, but as much as that attributes to this overall feeling of yuckiness, there is just something else that feel 'different'. I think my best bet now is to go and get a pregnancy test. There is no way for me to know for sure exactly what is going on. If it's negative, then I'll definitely go see my physician to see what's up. ^_^

You guys are so helpful. Thanks 4laugh

Talk to your doctor about getting a Rx for reglan and zantac. Although I could be wrong, considering I was giving it to a newborn, I highly doubt it'd be a no-no during pregnancy.... but like I said, I could be wrong.

Thanks bunches ^_^ I will definitely do that. Now if getting public healthcare wasn't such a pain in the tuckus... xd

Hey guys, I forgot to update. I was visiting a friend on wednesday (who coincidentally is pregnant for the second time ^_^ She's about two months along), and she urged me to take an hpt as she is convinced that I am pregnant. She had an extra one lying around. I knew that I should wait because I was only seven days past ovulation, but after some convincing, I took it anyways. It came up negative, no big suprise there. I am going to wait and take another test in a week or two. At this point I am about 80% sure that I am pregnant. There is just too much going on for it just to be from going off the birth control.

I had jury duty yesterday. I kept getting hot flashes and I was SO tired, that I kind of dozed off in the jury room. No one else was feeling hot, so I know it was only me. It was a big air conditioned room ^_^ I am also getting serious nausea in the morning when I wake up, and right before I go to bed. My breasts are getting bigger too O.o I am already a D cup, so it's kind of disconcerting, haha. I have all these little red and blue veins spider-webbing across them too. It's weird. And I woke up with terrible leg cramps in my left calf this morning gonk

Question, has anyone used the Wal-Mart brand pregnancy tests before? The are only $4.00 and that is pretty much my budget right now. Can anyone attest to their reliability? Thanks ^_^

:EDIT: - I've also had some dull but sharp intermittent aching in my lower left abdomen near my pelvis. I think it may just be my intestines, but I'm not 100% positive. Anyoneone else have anything like that before?

That could actually be an ovary. Or, even a fallopian tube.
With everything going on, you really need to see a doctor. You could be having a bad reaction to your birth control (hormones way out of whack), be pregnant (in which you need to see a doc anyway) and maybe even an ectopic pregnancy, though I don't know how soon you'd get pain.

However, if you're getting nauseous and your boobs hurt... well... those are generally pretty good signs.

As far as the Wal-Mart test goes, it should work fine. However, take it first thing in the morning, the very first time you pee. That urine, and therefore the hormones in it, are most concentrated and you're most likely to get a positive then if you'll get one at all.

Oh on the reflux bit, just for my experience, I had bad reflux and my OB approved me to take Zantac, did me a world of difference.

I've taken the WM ones before, as long as you follow the directions, they're good, just like any other ones!

If you're having pain like that, it's urgent you go. It could be something as minor as round ligament pain, but could be much more serious like an etopic pregnancy.
