What a lovely day...
Miri thought to herself, small smile perched upon her face. Small black hooves moved daintly along the small, well-worn path through the forest, careful not to snag herself on the branches that hung over the path. Dark chocolate eyes glanced about, ears perked as she listened and watched, not wanting to be taken by surprise if something were to approach her. One should never seem flustered in another's presence.
A clearing spread infront of her, and she slowed her pace until she was stopped toward the center. Lowering her head, she daintily nibbled the grass, curly forlock resting in front of her eyes.

Today had been quite the lazy day. With the recent spring rains seemingly raining (haha) on his parade, Mozenrath had spent most of his time the past few days away from his 'home' in the desert far from these greener pastures.
He had lost contact with Xerxes not too long ago. Though, he figured the fox would pop up sometime soon, anyway. He always did. And usually at the most inconveniant times it seemed.
Mozenrath lulled over in his mind all the dead ends he had followed. All the stories he had come across of things that granted one great power. Myths if you would. It started to feel like him coming to these lands was nothing more than a waste of time. But somehow it just felt like there was something here he was just not finding.
As he thought, he soon found himself wandering through a clearing. Black eyes focused on the ground infront of him as a piece of dark hair flopped over his muzzle. A quick puff of air from his mouth flipped it back into place. The sun was shining quite brightly today, which reflected off the red jewel on his turban. Sending small flashes of light here and there. Though the stallion wasn't too worried about others seeing him. He found it almost inevitable that someone usually came along and stopped him from his wanderings. So why try and hide if there was no use?

"What on Earth...?"
Miri wondered suddenly as a rather brazen red light flashed upon her face. Raising her head, she glanced about, wondering if the sun had already begun to set. No, still high in the sky sat the sun. What else could it have been? She blinked, wondering if it was just her imagination that saw the outlandish blue against the brown and green of the landscape.
She stepped closer, careful to not stare openly until she realized what it was that had been shinging so rudely. Her steps stopped short, ears swivelling on top of her head as she realized that it was another horse that had done so, one that must think her rather rude at the moment for approaching without an introduction.
"Terribly sorry, sir. I didn't mean to seem so rude."
She apologized, offering a brief smile.

At the sudden sound of another voice, the stallion stopped dead in his tracks. Speak of the devil. The full weight of his body settled into his legs as he turned his body slightly to look upon the stranger who had approached him. His eyes scrutinizing the mare for a second as he kicked a back leg which whipped his long cape behind him and out of the way.
Dipping his head slightly in greeting, he turned an ear back slightly before letting it relax. "Sorry. Sorry for what? I'm not even sure what you're talking about. Or apologizing for being rude for." A thick eyebrow raised heavily as he slanted his head a bit. The right corner of his mouth curling up in a light smirk as he eyed the mare again.

Her eyes glanced him up and down quickly, sizing him up. Nice enough clothes, but would his behavior prove the same? After he spoke, she smiled only the slightest of smiles. No, apparently not.
"If you don't know, then it must not have been a problem. I don't like to repeat my mistakes." She replied calmly, hazel eyes cold as her curly hair fluttered around her face, causing her to see him through a veil of hair one moment, then perfectly fine the next.
"Well, excuse me for interrupting you."

His eyes narrowed slightly, causing small wrinkles to form around them from the spot of coldness in her eyes. Was she another one of these high and mighty Soquili that thought they were better than everyone else. Ones with sticks so far up their asses that they couldn't see past their own selves? Bah. Those kinds of Soquili made his blood boil sometimes. Though, he himself was a bit hypocritical on that, sometimes. He disliked being snubbed so easily.
A flick of his tail and a bit of shifting of weight before he settled back down again. Cocking his head to the side, his eyes lidded as that dark smirk appeared again. "Oh. What? Leaving before you even introduce yourself. Well if that isn't rude I don't know what is."

"I fear if I stay in the company of one such as yourself, not introducing myself wouldn't be the only rude thing I would do. I find no desire to remain in the company of those who seem to know nothing of manners, or those who just don't care."
She responded, voice sweet, slightly mocking. Her face was set in a smile... Not a friendly one, more of the kinda of smile one wears to an event that revolves about difficult or unpleasant matters. This was certainly shaping up to be an even such as that.

"Then I'm afraid you'll find yourself very lonesome." He gave a long, thoughtful flick of his tail for a moment before returning an equally mocking smile in return. "No nothing of manners? Oh, quite the contrary. I do have manners my dear, it just depends on when I feel like using them. But whatever you want."
Lowering his head just slightly, the corner of his mouth curled up once again. "The name is Mozenrath. But I'm sure it really doesn't concern you. So I suppose I might take my leave." Mozenrath turned his body half way, his cape fluttering behind him in once fluid movement. Black eyes watched the mare carefully for a second before he turned them away, searching for any direction in which to take his leave.

"Lonely? You consider yourself too important. You're not the only one I could talk to." She left the smile on her face, ears flicking backward in the only sign of her irritation. That, and the biting tone of her voice.
She was caught off guard by the introduction. Mozenrath? She hadn't expected to get to learn his name, but it certainly did fit the appearence. "Mozenrath." She repeated, her smile turning a touch more genuine. "I'm Miri." She responded, eyes catching his before he turned away.

His ear snapped back towards her as she mentioned her own name. One leg hung in the air before he set it back down and turned his body so it was half way facing her now. A piece of dark hair had fallen from underneath his turban and curled next to the corner of his eye.
"Well now. That wasn't so hard now was it?" Tilting his head, he gave her a coy grin as he raised a thick eyebrow. "Perhaps now we might have some sort of decent conversation besides bicker? That's all I seem to get. I would suppose I might be a bit rough around the edges. How the Soquili of this land hold themselves is surely different from my home."

She watched, glad to see that he wasn't leaving quite yet. She would have hated to leave such a foul impression on anyone. She tossed her head slightly, the curly forelock that had flopped in front of her eyes bothering her. What good was having company if you didn't get to see them clearly?
"A decent conversation sounds lovely. But no, you're not.. that rough around the edges." A small smile curled the corners of her mouth. "I'm not the best company either. But, forgive me if I'm rude, where did you come from? You don't look like any of the other Soquili I've seen." She tilted her head, glancing at his fancy outfit.

Mozenrath chuckled darkly to himself. Closeing those pierceing black eyes for just a moment before they snapped open. A small breeze ruffled the skirt of cloth around his turban. Now he stood standing infront of her, not in a side ways stance. But in a bit of a more relaxed head on position.
Another chuckle rumbled from deep within his chest as he tilted his head upwards and to the side. "I suppose I do look quite a bit different from the majority of Soquili around here." Flicking his long black tail a few times, he continued. The story of his origin seemed to play out every time he told it. And it seemed he told it a lot. "I come from a land across the ocean. Where deserts stretch for miles upon miles. Wherethe sun heats the lands to temperatures most couldn't bear and the moon freezes even the toughest Soquili at night. Though....more correctly my direct home is fairly different from the surrounding desert. The sand there is black as a starless night."

She stood directly facing him aswell, the breeze tounseling her curly mane across her neck, fluttering about like little butterflies before settling back. Pale brown eyes watching him, masked interest in her gaze.
Just a touch different. She thought to herself, not wanting to interrupt his story. She listened patiently, at first having to remember to keep an interested look on her face. As the story wore on, though, she found herself growing truly interested. The curiousity was now obvious in her eyes, like it had been when she was a foal. "Why did you decide to come here?" She finally asked, after he was done.

Mozen was taken aback by her question. No one had really asked him that question before. And even now after the time in this land, he himself wasn't sure anymore.
If his eyes could darken in color anymore they would have. With the luck he had been having it seemed like his cause wasn't going to be realized. His ear flicked slightly as he ran her question through his mind for a few seconds. "I came to this place in search of something. Though now I'm not quite sure if what I'm looking for is here. So perhaps I wasn't meant to find it and somehow I'm suppose to find something else. Though I'm not sure what that something else is."

She blinked, waiting calmly as he turned her question over in his mind. When he spoke, it was her turn to be surprised. Ears flipped forward toward him, interested look on her face.
"What were you looking for? Was it something very special?" She asked, her voice almost like a child's when they're asking about the end of a fairy tale. It seemed to her that he was almost from a fairy tale himself, dressed the way he was, questing for something like he was. How interesting.
