Hello, it's me, MGadda, your local pro-choice group parrot. AWK!

Anyway, for you Americans in the crowd, a little NARAL birdie told me that there is a nation-wide effort afoot tomorrow today (the 25th) to support The Freedom of Choice Act, which, as I hope you are aware, aims to codify Roe v. Wade into law and repeal the Federal Abortion Ban. Basically, they're urging everyone to phone Congress tomorrow today and relay support for the act to both their Senators and their Representative.

Here's all you really need to know.

For the linkaphobes, here's the snip:
NARAL
Join NARAL Pro-Choice America in our National Call-In Day to Support the Freedom of Choice Act
- Wednesday, April 25
- Call 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to both of your senators and your representative
- Use the following script:
“Please cosponsor the Freedom of Choice Act (H.R.1964/S.1173) to codify Roe v. Wade and guarantee the right to choose for future generations of women.”
- Click on the link below to find out what other organizations are participating.

That is all, as you were.

I'm calling in and have informed my family about it.
I'm not sure exactly how many of them will call in, but we're sure going to flood their email. (Ours is a large family.)

I'm calling and e-mailing.

...

Would it be wrong of me to send a different e-mail from each of my fifteen or so e-mail addys?

I emailed just now. I hope it changes Gordon Smith's mind... (He's the republican senator for my state... we have on Democrat, one Republican.)

Called! Only one of them asked for my name (the office of my Representative, who is pretty awesome). My two senators are unfortunately dorks (Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback of all people, blurgh), so I doubt they'll care, but it felt good to bother them anyway.

EEEW, Brownback!

It's getting late. I wonder if it's too late. I might call, but I doubt it'll work. Hunter's an antichoice conservative military-freak.
