Captain Cannoli has a message for us. CaptainCannoli The Iron Magus CaptainCannoli Greetings, "CITIZEN" Magus! Cannoli wishes to just SKIP the trivialities and address the issue that he is contacting you in regards to! Cannoli wishes to form an ALLIANCE with the "GIB", you know? It just seems like an IDEAL place to be ALLIED to, as it is a balanced group and quite active. As well, to complete this ALLIANCE, Cannoli would join your GROUP to show his SUPPORT towards the said ALLIANCE! Please send this back to Cannoli with your REPLY! If you wish to DISCUSS this, that would be just fine. In fact, that would be AWESOME! BOOYA! OO YEAH!
CaptainCannoli Hi Cannoli. Please, call me TIM. As far as an alliance goes, I am wary. I fear that without any plot currently going on, the only time we would have aid requested of us would be in inter-guild squabbling and drama-llama-ing, which are things I wish to avoid. Such is the way it has been with the GR, and it almost caused me to sever our alliance. Ah? Very well, TIM! Cannoli and his ARMY of JUSTICE are not within the whole business of FIGHTING, you know? Unless it's against INJUSTICE! We do not require AID, simply ALLIANCE. surprised The simply reason being that the ARMY wishes to branch out and establish CONNECTIONS, you know? If you still do not wish to create ALLIANCE, please reply saying so, and there will be no problem! It's YOUR choice, you know!? JUSTICE! CaptainCannoli I want to hear your thoughts on this.

What reason is there for an alliance other than it just being a good idea? It sounds sketchy.

At first it looks like he's just trying to become a member.
And also, do we really need an alliance in a time of peace?

A reason for the alliance? At this point, mainly to build goodwill between our groups.
As far as him becoming a member, that's another issue that would merit discussion...

We should ask him for his motives.

ChibiMoko We should ask him for his motives. Quote: The simply reason being that the ARMY wishes to branch out and establish CONNECTIONS, you know? Does that not suffice?

Have any previous alliances caused problems or conflicts for the GiB previously?

BlueRaven990 Have any previous alliances caused problems or conflicts for the GiB previously? Just us getting almost getting dragged into the conflict between the GR and the SSS. And a lot of he-said-she-said drama.

Well I doubt CaptainCannoli would start a conflict with another guild, the GR was mainly for warmongers anyway. (No offence to anyone in it)

-Why- does he want the connection?
-What- does he plan to do with it?

Cannoli and the Army of Justice are groups I've seen in action a few times, and they seem like good kids. Not so much into his capital abuse, but I like that he can stay in character even during a serious alliance proposal, it shows conviction and commitment.
As for suspicions, must we really be so misforgiving? It's a sad state of affairs when fictional guilds of a fictional plotline are questioning eachothers motives. I feel like we should just go with our guts here, instead of second guessing every banquet presented to us.
Which brings me to the question I origonally wanted to ask... What's the point of burning bridges? Establishing connections sounds like a good deal to me.

Actually it's a note of caution more than anything else...

Ah Cannoli. I don't have a problem with him. He has not shown himself to be openly hostile to anyone, unless they are servants of INJUSTICE.
I see nothing wrong with forming an alliance with him.
Besides. Networking is a good thing.

You have to be careful with networking though. See who else he's allied to. Look at WWI.
