Well it's getting to be the 92 anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and its denial. I am very passionate about this whole event. How can a country slaughter 1.5 million people and deny it?! How can the world be shown that everyone should get basic human rights if 1.5 million [+1] people can't even rest in peace properly?! Ah yes, even after 91 years, they decide to kill another person. A Turkish-Armenian man who was just standing for the truth. We need to find a way to abolish this 301 Turkish pact which doesn't allow freedom of speech. The people in that country are so brainwashed that a TEENAGER assisnated Hrant Dink. These are serious crimes against humanity. Denial is killing them twice.
Just look at Hitler's quote, "After all who today speaks of the aniliation of the Armenians". He dilerberatly copied most of Turkey's plan, but saw their weaknesses in it and changed it to be as successful as he was during the Holocaust. (People try to deny that, but we are still learning about that in schools, so why can't we learn about the Armenian Genocide?)
Genocides have happened all over the world and are still happening today. We cannot let countries get away with killing many, many people and get off easy. This is why more genocides have occured. History has been and will continue repeated itself. We are showing countries they can get away with killing many people and not be punished one bit. This is why we the other people in the world stay strong.
This is truely one of the reasons I am very thankful for System of a Down. They have taught me about the Armenian Genocide and opened my eyes to the world and other genocides. I would have probably never learned about Darfur if it wasn't for them. It's funny how our media is so screwed up that we can easily hear about the celebrities and who they are dating, but to hear about massive killing in another part of the world is censored.
I have decided to take as much action as I can in this. My best friend Katy [Marquettegirl34] and I have done a lot for this cause, which is not lost. It is never too late to apologize. We have taken the liberty and together tried to inform many people as possible so far. We have dedicated so much time and effort on this matter. We made t-shirts to wear along with bracelets and whatnot for the 24th of April and we will not let this day go unmarked. We will stand strong and help get the justice that the Armenians deserve. We WILL continue to recognize the Armenian Genocide!

I couldn't of put it better myself. [:
Thank you System of a Down for rising our awareness to this tragic event, and the one that's currently happening now.

I don't even know how many people I told about today. "What does your shirt mean?" The best two questions were "Are you Armenian?" and "WHAT?!?! THE AMERICAN GENOCIDE?!?!" blaugh

[Moral-Pot] Lucky for me I live in California, because I went and protested the denial of the genocide. 3nodding The news in Washington State has said nothing about it. I think the only thing that has made a bit of a splash here that is Armenian Genocide-related is that the tolerance that the Turkish Bath House place has for the Armenian restaurant that's nearby, though, many people not oriented on the subject have no idea the significance this has. at least in the Turkish-dominated Washington state... maybe not in CA >>;

Nothing EVER happens in Kansas. Hardly anyone I know is educated about it. I should have done something in memory of it, I'm really serious about it too. Now I'm kicking myself in the butt for it.

I wish I could have done something... to be honest I forgot all about it. Not sure what good it would have done in England but I could have at least tried. I'd like to have worn a shirt to work. XD
Although actually I'm begining to suspect my boss has Turkish roots, so I don't think I'd be able to do that.

OMG! I found out today that they actually teach about the Armenian Genocide at my school, that is, if you take Human Injustices. I was so happy man. And people actually knew what it was, which was cool.

Red-White-and-Brainwashed Thats good.. do you know how many people are taking that class? I'm not sure. I know I can't take it though because I have no room in my schedule...unless I take an early bird class. I'm filled up with the classes required to graduate. sweatdrop
