We're starting out with some awesome retro horror and classic cinematic cheesiness to get you acquainted with the theater system. Stay tuned for more movies in the future.
How does it work?
To view a film in the Gaia Cinemas, visit one of the movie profiles below. In each profile, you'll see a list of screening rooms and show times. The number below each screen is the number of people currently in the theater. New showings begin every ten minutes.
Pick a screen, wait for the movie to start, and enjoy the show!
Feature Films:
We've snagged a couple of full-length movies for you to watch, enjoy, make fun of, or throw popcorn at.
Night of the Living Dead: Witness the birth of the modern zombie in George Romero's classic horror movie. Still wonderfully creepy after all these years! Not for the faint of heart, the weak of stomach or the relaxed of bladder.
Prehistoric Women: Okay, we admit it: this movie sucks. Luckily, it sucks in the most hilarious way possible. Join some glamorous cave-babes in bizarre, colorful romp through the prehistoric world of campy retro crap. Go make fun of it!
Educational Shorts:
These educational shorts are old enough to be your grandpa, and unintentionally hilarious enough to be your... uhh... unintentionally hilarious grandpa.
Dating Do's and Don'ts: Learn the ins and outs of teenage dating from a greasy kid with a bad haircut.
Duck and Cover: Learn how to survive a nuclear explosion by imitating a cartoon turtle.
One Got Fat: Learn all about bicycle safety through the grisly deaths of half a dozen terrifying masked children.
Soapy the Germ Fighter: Learn that cleanliness isn't just for sissies: it's also for cowboy sissies.
Your Posture: Learn why everyone hates you: because you slouch!
Cinema tips:
* Control your avatar by clicking the mouse where you want to walk, or by pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard.
* When you walk near a theater seat, you can click on it to sit down. To stand up again, click the "pose" button in the lower right corner.
* Visit the snack bar to buy special Cinema emotes. There are tons of obnoxious things to do: you can throw popcorn, shine a laser pointer at the screen, throw fireballs at your fellow Gaians, and much more.
* The movie will start at the same time for everybody in the room, but various issues might cause you to lose sync. If your witty comments seem to be going over poorly, it might mean that you're watching a diffferent part of the movie as everone else! To sync up, click another person in the theater and select the "sync" option from the menu.
