[name]: Saint
[gender]: Androgynous
[race/species/element]: Heartless – NeoShadow -
[x][x][hair color]: Black
[eye color]: Goldish-yellow
[distinctive marks]: The Heartless emblem is on the side of its neck.
[other]: It’s important that Saint’s gender is indistinguishable from just looking at it. Heartless don’t have genders. They don’t need to breed to copulate; they just consume hearts to release the darkness, forming new Heartless.
[physical description][wand] The wand is very simple. It’s jet black. At the end is a heart and its shimmering trail winds up the wand. The shimmer is a pale silver, pink mix.
[baby ghost] The ghost is a puff of black, resembling soot. It’s small, and it also appears to have two antennas.
[infant] Having unsuccessfully raised his son, Saint’s guardian as decided to raise it as a girl. Her hair is jet black, not nearly long enough to hide the antennas lying limply in her face. Her eyes are a little larger than normal and the iris is a brilliant gold-yellow. She already appears to have claws on both hands and feet, so her guardian attempts to keep them covered up so she won’t cut herself. The claws are naturally black.
[toddler] Saint’s hair has grown long enough for her guardian to pull it back in a twiggy ponytail. The man can’t brush her hair to save his life (just look at his own messy hair), so poor Saint’s hair is a daily tragedy. Speaking of, her outfits can rival train wrecks. Her guardian has the fashion sense of a newt. He chooses clothing with colors and patterns capable of making eyes bleed. There is always something pink thrown into the mix. Girls wear pink. Period.
Her guardian continues to try and wrap her claws. The black has spread from just the nails to her hands and feet. Her antennas have grown just enough so they can be tied back with her hair. They still don’t stand up on their own.
[child] Saint is becoming increasingly determined to stay out of bright lights, but instead of growing pale, the darkness continues to creep up her skin. The black has spread from her hands and feet up her arms and legs. Her antennas still aren’t full length, but they are now strong enough to hold themselves up. Saint’s also old enough to pick her own clothes, so her outfits are much more normal. She chooses dark colors over vibrant ones, but she keeps her guardian pleased with a daily dose of something he deems ‘feminine’. She’s also old enough to wear the heart-shaped jewelry she’s started collecting. She refuses to wear any jewelry that doesn’t have hearts.
Even though any baby fat is gone, Saint’s features aren’t distinctly male or female. She’s actually pretty thin and built to fight; she can hold her own against the boys (not that she’s allowed to fight with them, or anything). She’s realized she doesn’t ‘fit in’ with neither the boys nor the girls, so she’s trying her damnedest to belong to the group she’s identified with for her whole life.
[teenager] Something went so very, very wrong and Saint has made a 180 reversal. Cherished hair ruined, pink gone and make up replaced with tattoos, Saint’s suddenly declared himself male. He ruined his once lovely hair by dreading it and dying a few unlucky strands the same hue of red as a heart. If he wants that hair gone, he’ll have to shave it off. His girly, well-planned outfits have been replaced with slapdash combinations of black jeans, band t-shirts and other loose-fitting clothing. Often, his jeans are too large and he refuses to wear a belt. His claws are now ripped and jagged rather than neatly filed down. He wears army-type boots.
The make-up is certainly gone, replacing it with various tattoos. Some pertain to Heartless, some to hearts and some are just various designs he found appealing. He hasn’t abandoned his jewelry, but now wears less hearts and more plain silver, as though displaying some power he doesn’t actually have. He seems to favor piercings and rings over necklaces (chokers are something else entirely) and bracelets.
Other than his gender-identity crisis, Saint continues to grow. He stands about 5’7”, but he often slumps or crouches. He also continues to maintain excellent physical condition, but he’s started jogging and sparring to keep in shape. His antennas are finally at full length and now appear crimped (it’s natural). The pupil of his eye is no long visible, the whole center of his eye is now gold.
[youth] Gone now are the dreads, having been shaved off sometime when the hormones started to recede and Saint started using his brain again. His hair is all black again, it’s also short and easy to maintain. While he can’t get rid of his tattoos, most of his piercings (save a few on his ears) have been allowed to close. He wears his heart jewelry again and he’s not sparing with it. He doesn’t care too much about his appearance; he really overdid it when he was younger.
He’s allowed his claws to grow; he can handle himself without harming anyone. His clothing is more respectable, still dark colors, but at least his jeans fit now.
He’s fully grown, about 5’ 9”, though his boots give him a good inch or so. He’s lean, well-built, but he never filled out either way. Well, not entirely. His jaw line is gentle and he’s got no facial hair. His hips could be called ‘curvy’, but he’s always had a flat chest. He’s still not sure which way to flop.

[subject to change][adult] Saint will choose its final identity based on events in roleplay.
[personality changes][infant] Saint cannot stand to be left alone as an infant. If her guardian dares leave her alone for more than five minutes, she will start pitching and wailing until someone comes running in to comfort her. She’s happiest when people are around her; they don’t need to pay attention to her, just be near her. She also appears to be nocturnal in sorts, much preferring to sleep during the light of the day and be active during the night, much to her guardian’s dismay.
[toddler] Saint still can’t bare being alone. However, her guardian is a busy man, and Saint has to learn how to deal with spending a few hours by himself. Desperate for company, she starts wandering. If she can’t find someone quickly, she’ll start to cry and panic. Heartless remain in groups at all times, and Saint can’t bear being left by herself. She will do
anything to be with someone. It could be a total stranger, and she will still be satisfied with being in their presence. This behavior will eventually aggravate her guardian and lead to some very uncomfortable situations between the two.
Towards the end of this stage, Saint will start creating imaginary friends. She’s realized it’s very difficult to always be with people, so these friends are people she can always rely on to be her group, her pack. An interesting side note, she always refers to himself as ‘we’.
[child] Saint usually plays with the girls even though sometimes, she wants to play with the boys. She’d be able to hold her own against the boys, she’s built to fight, but her guardian does
not let her play with said boys. She will not be allowed to so much as socialize with them until she’s older and her guardian can be sure she’s secure in her femininity. Until then, Saint does anything the other girls want to do. She’d even go outside with them if they asked her, despite her dislike for bright light. She was always in a group in her past life and can’t stand being alone.
This creates a problem. It’s not possible for Saint to be with people twenty-four seven, so Saint’s grown very attached to her imaginary friends. She’s convinced they are real, but they don’t keep her from trying to be with her peers. She does anything they ask of her, eager to keep them pleased.
The second trait that’s becoming very distinct is Saint’s referral to herself as ‘we’. She’s stuck in a group mindset. If everyone else does it, she won’t give a second thought to jumping of the cliff. She does not do the good for the one, she does the good for the whole. She is programmed to operate as a crowd, not a single unit.
She’s also become an obsessive collector. She gathers heart-themed jewelry. She isn’t sure why she’s so drawn to hearts, especially hearts of the shiny assortment, but she doesn’t argue with it. If she can’t pay for it, she’ll take it. It doesn’t really matter if it’s not hers, she
needs it.
The most concerning trouble, however, is Saint’s speech development, or lack thereof. Her speech does not evolve at all from the toddler stage. Teaching her new words is very difficult; it takes a lot of visual aid. Heartless relied solely on body language and Saint seems inclined to do the same. She only speaks in one words sentences
[teenager] Somewhere along the line, Saint snapped. When puberty struck, Saint was left out. In the confusion, she decided she must really be meant to be a ‘he’. Just like that, Saint will change his gender.
With his new look comes a whole new attitude. To prove himself, he feels he must really ‘be a man’. In truth, Saint completely overdoes the entire stereotype. He spends a great deal of time fighting –he really prides himself in his skill- and he will let the smallest arguments quickly escalate to fist-fights if he can get away with it. He’s much more interested in being in fighting-form, academic prowess rarely occurs to him. Barely able to speak, it is highly probable he can’t read.
The other guys seem to like the ladies, so Saint decides he must like them too, but once again, he overdoes it. Saint is a terrible womanizer, quickly learning how to flirt and please the girls. If he can, he’ll steal a lady from another man. He’ll make fun of any boy he deems girly. It could be said Saint is a jerk, but his biggest fear is being rejected from the ‘clan’. While driven to prove that yes, he really is a guy, he can only work for himself for so long. He needs to please the crowd. He needs approval, he needs his peers. He is a loyal supporter (never a leader himself); he’ll fight to the death for his leader and the cause.
Saint’s speech has only improved slightly. His sentences are very simple and the grammar is often not correct, but he can convey basic thoughts with relative ease. He still doesn’t use names often and he hasn’t abandoned his imaginary friends, even if he’s long since outgrown them. Should real people ever abandon him, he needs those figments of his imagination to fall back on, or he will completely lose it.
As mentioned earlier, Saint never experiences hormones. He’ll never understand the emotional roller coasters, facial breakouts and crazy mad lust all other teenagers battle. Heartless don’t breed, so Saint wasn’t given the equipment or the desire. It will take a long time for him to understand the concept of dating. Should he ever decide to date, it will be someone he truly has deep affection for; he cannot base it on anything else. When he flirts with pretty girls, it’s only to fit in, it’s only what he picked up from the other guys. He’d never actually date them.
He continues to avoid sunlight, but he’s getting better about taking things that aren’t his. His heart collection is pretty substantial by this age, so he doesn’t feel as driven to gather more.
[youth] Saint will begin to realize just how strange he is and his reactions/adaptations to society will be based solely off events in roleplay.
[hobbies]: Collecting heart jewelry, being with friends (or just people in general)
[likes]: Hearts, dark colors, shadows, being included, its hair
[dislikes]: Sunlight, being left alone, being the odd man out
