Welcome. I have recently changed the species I am working with, because despite the attraction I have to Anubites, there is simply not enough information. Thank you for your patience.

[for reference, know that while my gnolls come fundamentally from the Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game, I have turned to other sources as well.]

Name: Trick
Gender: Female
Species: Gnoll

Gnolls...

Gnolls are a fictional race of humanoid creatures, usually described as anthropomorphic hyenas. They are strongly associated with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, but are neither original to nor exclusive to that game.
~~~
Gnolls appear as anthropomorphic hyenas. They are usually around seven feet tall and use armor made of horn, metal plates, and leather, and large weapons. Gnolls are generally depicted as savage, barbaric creatures that often practice cannibalism, and enjoy eating the flesh of other sentient species. Gnolls are not especially strong or intelligent, but they are cunning and, when pressed, will fight to death.
~Wikipedia
Gnolls anthropomorphized hyenas, hyenas who walk upright, have hands, and can speak a sort of mangled English. They are typically aligned chaotic evil, disregarding rules and causing whatever harm they wish to whomever they wish.
Gnolls were once considered nothing but savage beasts, cannibals who thought little of any sort of society and lived to ravage and consume other species. More often now, they are known to be carefully-organized tribes with cultures and stories all their own. They are a slave-keeping race.
A pack, or clan, of gnolls is led by an alpha female, called the Elleri. A gnoll clan is female-dominated, with males taking little part in clan leadership, or even most clan business. Fundamentally, males are kept to reproduce. The Elleri of a tribe chooses her mate for life, and other females are allowed to partner only after their Elleri has chosen.
When a female gnoll dies, her property and possessions are passed on to her eldest daughter, to be divided fairly among any female offspring the gnoll had. When a male gnoll dies, anything he may have had passes to his mate. Taking another mate after the first's death is seen as taboo in most gnoll clans.
The gnoll religion is uncomplicated, with most homage paid to the Demon God Yeenoghu. Yeenoghu is a vicious deity, and clerics pledged to him learn the dark arts of necromancy and curses. Gnoll clerics—called Daktari and almost always female—are important in a tribe, taking on a theocratic position of power. Daktari are sometimes revered as demigods by their clans. It is not uncommon for Daktari of a clan to become its Elleri. Clerics garner a wealth of knowledge of dark magics, and a gnoll cleric is a force to be reckoned with. Since Yeenoghu’s scions are seen as a major threat to more righteous men of other races, a powerful Daktari and her clan must be stopped before the Demon Lord’s evil can spread. Crusades against gnoll tribes are not unheard of, especially since gnolls are known for eating their own.
Gnoll cannibalism is a tradition among members of certain clans. When a gnoll dies, it is common for the corpse to be cured or preserved and then consumed by the deceased’s family, as a sign that even in death, the missing member supports his or her loved ones.
Eyes: Chartreuse, a shade of yellow-green just shy of yellow, with very little in the way of whites. Flash in the dark when they encounter a light source.
Hair: Coarse and shaggy, chocolate brown.
Distinctive Marks: Dark spots, the same colour as her hair, on arms, legs, body, and face.
Growing through the stages…
Wand:
The wand looks more or less like a slightly rusted metal rod, capped with what looks like bone on each end. The bone on the head looks like a crude carving, possibly of some sort of canine.
Ghost:
The ghost is a pleasant enough shade of ochre, yellowish-brown shot through with some russet, and speckled with chocolate brown.
Baby:
Trick begins life like all young hyenas do: dark. Her skin is be the same shade as the dark spots that will later mark her body, and her eyes are large and slanted. She has a hyena's ears: large and mouselike, but they are set in the same place a human's ears would be, not on the side of her head. Oddly enough for an infant, her arms seem just a little bit too long for her, and her legs seem the tiniest bit short. Her hair grows not only on her head but also extends in a line down her neck to between her shoulder blades. The hair is still soft and fine, but it tends to stand up straight, like a hyena’s mane. This little girl’s nails (both fingers and toes) are oddly long and oddly sharp, like little claws. The skin on the pads of her fingers and toes and the balls of her hands and feet is black and leathery, like a paw pad, and she has a dark spot of the same skin on the tip of her nose.
Toddler:
Little Trick is beginning to look more like a hyena. Her skin—other than on the tougher areas of her hands and feet—has lightened to dusty umber, and the spots are now visible on her back, sides, collarbone, upper arms, outer thighs, and across her cheekbones. Her arms still seem disproportionately long (but not obscenely or apishly so) compared to her slightly-too-short legs, and now the baby has teeth. Trick has grown some vicious fangs. Her hair is short, barely past the tips of her ears, and the mane that extends down her neck is longer and coarser. She has no real preference for clothing, although she likes intense colours. She goes barefoot.
Child:
Trick’s skin—except for her paw pads—has lightened to a yellowish tawny colour. And she’s spotty. Her arms and legs remain out of proportion with each other and with the rest of her. Trick also seems to be developing a bit of a chronic slouch, standing with her shoulders slightly hunched and her head down. Her hair is the same length, though her mane is much coarser and stands straight up most of the time. This makes it inconvenient for her to wear shirts with collars or anything tight around the neck. For comfort, she prefers garments that expose her back down to her shoulder blades, still in bright colours. She has gotten better about shoes, but they still cause her some discomfort.
Teenager:
If it weren’t for that slouch and her mane, Trick would be a fairly attractive young lady. Her too-long arms are—for the moment—matched by her legs, which can only be attributed to a lucky growth spurt. She seems a bit bulky—most of it is muscle, although Trick thinks ‘buffness’ in girls is icky and tries to avoid building mass—but she has modest curves in the right places. Her eyes are still odd, her smile unsettlingly sharp—her adult fangs almost an inch long—and her mane is now about three inches in straight-out, bristly length. She keeps her hair boyishly short and continues to favour brightly coloured shirts that expose, for comfort’s sake, as much of her upper back as possible.
Youth:
She has not changed much from teen, although her arms are once again just slightly too long. Her legs have stayed a proportionate length, lucky for Trick. She has, unfortunately, kept her bad posture, and her mane is as rigid and impractical as ever. Her curves are more pronounced, as are her muscles, and while she has grown in height—just short of 5’11”—she still looks stocky. Her hair is chin-length but still shaggy. Same taste in clothes.
Adult:
She has built up a bit in muscle, and her legs have returned to the slightly-disproportionately-short length they were when she was younger. Her hair is now shoulder length, and she has clipped the mane down, so it is more or less just a fuzzy dark stripe down her neck. Similar taste in clothing to the youth stage, although now that she clips the mane, she has discovered turtlenecks and collared shirts—and she loves them.
Changes of heart...
Baby: A loud crier and extremely fussy, she'll eat anything she is given—anything. She also clings, pulls hair, scratches, and bites when she doesn't get her way.
Likes: Crawling around, eating, screaming
Dislikes: Being held, sleeping
Toddler:Rambunctious and loud, Trick stays in one place just long enough to cause massive trouble—and then she's off again. She's like a whirlwind in the amount of chaos and peril she can create, and she is loud. Loud, loud, LOUD. She screams and howls and yaps and laughs. Her laugh is one of the creepiest things ever, especially since it only seems to happen when she's done something wrong. Born with a full set of teeth, she eats anything and everything. And watch out—she bites.
Likes: Meat, chewing on things, running about, digging, laughing, causing mischief.
Dislikes: Being penned up, baby food, being restrained, being told 'no'.
Child: Older now, she is infinitely more mobile and twice as able to cause trouble. Now, she not only laughs when she's causing mischief, she seems to laugh at everything in that eerie, high-pitched way. It especially happens when she is nervous or troubled, and when she wants attention. Her favourite games seem to be pouncing and wrestling, and she loves to attack basically anything that moves. Her games are often too rough for other children, and she seems to get frustrated very easily. Games with complicated rules upset her. Trick still eats any food given to her and will devour it like she's starving. Without fail.
Likes: Food, running, playing rough, chewing on things, running around.
Dislikes: Rules, being ignored, schoolwork, being kept inside.
Abilities:
Heightened Senses: (Manifest: birth) Trick is blessed with heightened auditory and olfactory faculties. These senses are roughly five times better than a human’s. Trick tends to be more easily distracted than somebody with human senses, and sometimes she has severe reactions to people who wear too much perfume. She is, however, better at recognizing the directions from which things come in a noisy place and can often track somebody by their voice, or find someone in a crowd by smell. She does not get separated from her guardian as easily as most children would.
~The ability does not apply to eyesight, taste, or touch (those last two are always forgotten in ‘heightened senses’ categories). In fact, two of those faculties are actually reduced.
Strongman: (Manifest: child) She is notably stronger than other girls her age, though not disturbingly so. For example: most eight-year-old girls could not hold their own in a tug-of-war with two boys their own age. Trick could. She could probably win. As she ages, her disproportionate strength progresses with her. But since she has no real desire to cultivate it, she will often be matched—and surpassed—by other teenage girls who put effort into strength training. She can still easily hold her own in tests of strength and would excel at a track-and-field sport like shot put. If she were to train, she would likely be able to surpass almost all girls and many boys her age.
Berserk: (Manifest: teen) Trick can go into a sort of berserker-state where she is almost impervious to pain and will probably ignore any wounds that occur. This can only happen if she is spurred to intense stress and anger. The stage does not last long, and it leaves Trick winded, exhausted, and in severe pain. Since she is easily upset and angered (see “anger management” in weaknesses), it’s likely that Trick will come into this stage with reasonable frequency. As she grows, she will learn to control the fury and channel it in times when it is necessary to go into a blind rage.
Ill-Wish: (Manifest: youth) Courtesy again of her clerical past—as a scion of a demon lord—Trick will gain some minor control over curses. She will not be able to do anything serious, such as kill somebody or make anyone fatally ill, or indeed make anyone truly ill. The curses will run more toward minor bouts of bad luck, losing things, catching a cold, tripping on the sidewalk and twisting an ankle, things that might well have happened even without the help of a curse. The likelier it is to happen in general, the easier it is for the curse to manifest itself.
~Example: in someone with a genetic predisposition toward severe acne, Trick’s curse would result in a much more severe breakout than it would in a person with good skin who is under very little stress.
~NOTE: This ability will only manifest itself it, at the teen stage, Trick becomes interested in the occult and begins to study magick.
~~~

Weaknesses:

Colourblind: Trick is only able to see in nondescript shades of grey-brown. This leads to confusion about basic things, like directions that involve selecting a colour…and traffic lights. She is also somewhat nearsighted and cannot see sharp outlines of things unless they move. Glasses cannot correct this, as Trick's eyes are different from human ones.

Thick-skinned: The toughened, leathery skin on Trick’s hands and feet makes her much less sensitive to touch. The thick skin on the pads of her feet keeps her from noticing that she is walking on a hot or sharp or rough surface until some time after she begins, when her feet are likely cut up, bruised or burnt.

Anger Management: She is awful at controlling her temper. Things that might cause a minor upset in most children cause a fierce tantrum in Trick. She is easily offended and will likely escalate that offense to violence. Major offenses will result in an attack with the potential to be highly dangerous, as Trick will not be easily called off. It takes her a long time to cool down from when she goes into a rage as well. She takes most things as insults and will, especially at the teen stage, have immense difficulty letting anything perceived as an insult go. She will chase down the offender and potentially hurt them.

IQ Test: Trick is not particularly intelligent. She is below the human average, scoring c’s on schoolwork and mostly unable to surpass such as this. She is slow in solving complicated problems, slightly weak on logic, and has difficulty following in-depth directions. Her reading skills are a few years below other children her age, and she is aware that she is not the brightest. This leads to defensiveness, especially during the unstable teen stage.
