Buach pawed at the soft sand near the edge of the ocean, the waves licking at his hooves. It had been several days since he had seen another Nequus and he was a little glad at that. Though, it was sad for him to be avoiding contact with others of his own kin. His psycotic nature made it impossible for him to do anything. Maybe it was that tiny voice in the back of his mind that made him do the psyco things that he did every so often. Or maybe it was the presence of his long-dead mother that made him go insane.
Whatever the reason, he was glad to have rid himself of his old family-for now at least. His sister was on the move, or so he had heard. Flicking his tail, he gazed down at the moon in the reflection of the water. It seemed so big and full. Irritated at that, he stomped a hoof into the moon's reflection, causing it to get distorted. He smirked slightly at that image he had created. Turning his back on the ocean, he threw his body down onto the soft sand and began to roll in it.

The sand was soft, wet and grainy underhoof. Somewhere not far to his right the sea sighed up and down the beach. Every so often it would lap over the white stallion's hooves. The cool sensation made the albino smile. When he was blind like this it was nice to have tactile input from the world about him. It made him feel a little less as though he was walking along a narrow path that he might fall off at any time to fall into a void.
Ahead of him there was a sound that was not the sea. A splash out of rhythm and then a thump of something hitting the ground. Morthan froze. There was somebody there. What was he going to do? He'd look a damn fool for not noticing them... but they hadn't noticed him either. Or had they? Perhaps they'd been watching him approach and grinning, waiting until now to do something other than stand and stare.
Well, no avoiding the encounter now. "Hello there," the white stallion said with a nod in the general direction of the noise. He probably wasn't going to be able to hide his night-blindness from whoever this was. Well, he didn't have to bring it up himself. If they mentioned it, he'd admit it. If they didn't notice, for whatever improbable reason, then so much the better.

Buach stopped his rolling when he heard a voice from nearby. He held back a groan as he rolled onto his stomach and looked around. It was then that he spotted the albino Reya. he flicked an ear slightly, annoyed with the fact that another of his kin had found him, but at least it wasn't his sister.
Slowly getting to all fours, he shook off the excess sand that had collected on his coat and he bobbed his head up and down for a few seconds. "hello yourself," he said in a gruff voice, the tiny voice in the back of his mind nagging at him again. He flicked his tail irritably, not wanting to deal with that voice anymore.
He gazed at the albino's form for a few seconds, taking note of the blue eyes the male bore. 'White coat and blue eyes. Sounds like something my Uncle had,' he thought to himself, reminding himself of his half-crazy albino uncle. Shaking his head, he took a few steps towards the albino. "What brings you out on during these night-time hours? I would have thought that all Nequus would be asleep by now." He shuddered slightly at the thought of sleep. He hadn't needed sleep in ages so why would he need it now?

Morthan flicked and ear in a shrug; the stranger didn't seem all the firnedly but it made little odds to him. It wasn't like he'd come out here for the company and wasn't exactly a sparking conversationalist himself. "I like being up at night sometimes; a lot of Reya and Aeri do," he said after a moment's thought. That was pretty much covered his bases no matter what kin the stranger was. It might sound a little silly if the stranger was Aeri or his own kin but not so silly as to be pointless.
"Tonight though I just felt like going for a walk on the beach," the pale-coated stallion smiled, turned his face out to sea and took a deep breath of the strange smelling air. "It's peaceful here at night it seems," he went on, "I've not been to the ocean before. I wanted to find out what it was light under the stars as well as the sun."
"Oh, I'm Morthan by the way," he added as an afterthought.

Buach shuddered as the other male stated that many Reya and Aeri liked being up at night. That scared him slightly. Maybe his sister liked being out at night, too. Pushing aside that thought, he pawed at the ground lightly, wondering how the albino was able to find him. He had known albinos to be partially or fully blind, like his uncle. Though, unlike his uncle, this albino seemed rather, well, placid, rather than delusional.
He scratched an itch behind an ear with his hindhoof as he heard the other Reya explain why he was out during these late hours of the night. It seemed like this Reya also wanted to see the ocean. "Sounds perfectly reasonable to me," he said to the albino. "Though I'm not so sure it is this way during the daytime hours. I've heard that it isn't very pleasant when the sun is out."
he shook his coat again as he heard the other male introduce himself. He didn't see why Nequus did that, but he didn't want to get on the bad side of the other male, so he decided to give out his name, too. "Buach." He paused for a few seconds before daring to ask Morthan a question. "Have you seen a light green femme around? She is one of our kin and has a blood-lust for me."

Ah, another Reya then. Crazy mares didn't sound very promising though. Oh well, maybe whoever she was only after the stallion he was currently talking to rather than anybody she happened to cross paths with. "No, I haven't seen any mares of our sort," he replied with a slight shake of his head. "Only Nequus I've seen over the last three or four days are a couple of scattered groups of Bae."
The sea washed up over his hooves again and the pale stallion started slightly, laughing in the next moment as he realised what had happened. "That caught me by surprise,” he chuckled softly. “Anyway, I arrived here early in the afternoon and the place seemed pretty nice to me. A bit like it is now only there was more breeze and it was warmer." And he'd been walking in the shade of the cliff to avoid burning but that could go unsaid.

He nodded his head slightly, pleased that the other male had said that he hadn't seen his sister. That was a good sign for both him and the albino. "If you do see her, please refrain from meeting with her. You look like my crazy uncle and she might begin plotting my death with you due to the fact that she cannot simply bear in mind that our uncle is no longer of this world."
Buach flicked his tail slightly as Morthan said that it was a nice place to be around during the day. He held back a shudder at that thought. He didn't know why other nequus liked the daytime. It was too crowded everywhere to like the daytime hours. He usually avoided everything by hiding in caves and getting a few hours of sleep during the hottest part of the day.

The white stallion smiled and bobbed his head, glad that his unfocused eyes had not yet been commented upon. "Thank you for the warning; I shall. I've no desire to get myself mixed up in a fight or in plotting; not something I've ever been fond of." It tended to end up with him getting hurt to a greater or lesser degree; no fun at all.
Crazy sister, crazy uncle; it was amazing this one was as sane as he was. As he currently seemed thinking of it. Not all mad-Nequus showed it all the time, did they? Probably best to tread carefully just in case the stallion he was talking was as unstable as his family.
"So," the albino said after silence had hung for a moment, "what bring you out here tonight? Just wandering as well?" If only he could see the other Reya he'd be able to spot a sudden change of mood, and or level of sanity, should it occur. Oh well; he'd just have to count on his ears and his somewhat dubious luck to keep him safe tonight. The pale-eyed stallion pricked said appendages forward attentively as he awaited a response.

Buach nodded his head slightly as Morthan said that he would keep an eye out for his crazy sister. He didn't want anyone to get hurt just because he had a small chat with them. He knew his sister would attack anyone and everyone he came in contact with, despite his protests. Flicking his tail again, he sighed softly.
Hearing the albino's question, he turned his gaze towards the dark ocean, keeping quiet for a few tense minutes. "Yeah, just wandering," he said to Morthan, not telling him the entire reason why he was out and about at this hour.

Actually... now he thought of it he was on the look out for someone too, wasn't he? "Have you seen any of our sort around lately by the way?" he quizzed the patch of air where he assumed the other Reya stood. "I'm looking for a pure white mare with blue eyes. Dam to an acquaintance of mine; the two got separated some time ago and now the daughter is looking for her mother."
If only he had a name or something else to go on. Cressida's quest seemed more than a little hopeless to him but then he was a bitter cynical old git so his opinion probably didn't count all that much in things like this. One had to have hope, faith in the basic goodness of the world and such. Well yes, he hoped for things; things like generous cloud cover on hot days and not falling over things in the dark. Not things like finding one Nequus whose name you didn't even know in all the vastness of the world.
Still, if it pleased the girl then he supposed there was no harm in it. Besides, the asking would lead to more conversation at the very least and that was probably a good thing.

"A white mare with blue eyes," he repeated, more for himself than to Morthan. He flicked a lock of his mane out of his eyes as he thought of the many Nequus he had seen from afar, but never actually talked to. It took him a few tense minutes to shake his head at the other Reya.
"I'm sorry, but I haven't. You are the only white Nequus I have seen so far. I am sorry I wasn't of much help to you," he said, the tiny voice in the back of his mind nagging at him. It seemed that the voice wanted to speak to the other Reya, but Buach didn't want it to. Something strange was up with the voice and Buach didn't like it at all.
Shaking his head slightly, this time causing his mane to fall on the other side of his neck, he pawed at the soft sand, wondering what the other stallion ws thinking.

Morthan smiled at the other stallion and gave a slight shake of his own head. "It's no matter," he elaborated, "I hadn't really expected the answer to be yes; it's a big world to be looking for one Nequus in." Now what to say? The other stallion didn't seem desperate to make conversation... perhaps he'd come out here for peace and was just too polite to walk away. Well if that was the case it was the silly boy's own fault for being too polite.
The problem of what to say next however still remained.
"You know if this bit of the world is anybody's territory?" the blind Reya asked after some moments of silence. "I'd hate to be butting in without their permission if this place is claimed; people can get very arsey about territory." He himself could get a bit snippy with people wandering through his land and eating his grass without so much as a by-your-leave; it was feasible to assume others did too.

Buach nodded his head, agreeing with what the other Reya had said. It was, indeed, a big world and he had expected the other stallion to say no to his question. But then again, his sister did have ways to find someone he came in contact with. He didn't understand her motives, but it didn't look very good at the moment.
Hearing the other stallion ask if this was taken territory, he gazed at the ocean curiously. "If it is someone else's territory, looks like I am trespassing, too." He shifted his weight to one side of his body before lowering his head down slightly. "I don't see any guards of any herds coming out to kick us out, so I guess this is unclaimed lands."

Morthan bobbed his head in agreement. Alright, so he couldn't see anything right now but angry guards were one of the things he couldn't see so he wasn't lying. "It would seem so, or if it is claimed they're a relaxed lot," the albino said, turning his head about as though he were inspecting his surroundings.
Water washed up over his hooves again and the Reya snorted at it. The tide appeared to be coming in. If only he could see how far up the sea came on most days he'd be able to decide whether or not he ought to be thinking about leaving before the waters cut him off. Now that he came to think of it, coming down here blind had probably been a bit of a poor idea on his part.
"Tide's coming in by the looks of it," he commented, taking a few steps up the beach to be out of the water's reach. With any luck, his comment would spark some helpful information from the other stallion.

Buach shrugged his shoulders slightly, not really caring if the Ocean territory was taken or not. What he did care about was finding out where his sister's current location was so that he could avoid running into her. 'Crazy b***h,' he thought to himself, yet he had a bit of craziness in him, though it didn't bother him like his sister did.
Hearing the other stallion's comment about the tide coming in, he gazed over at the ocean to see that it was indeed coming in. He bobbed his head slightly and slowly began to walk towards the edge of the forest that lined the ocean. "Then I shall be on my way. It was a pleasure meeting you, Morthan. I do hope that we meet again one day." He flicked his tail slightly and disappeared into the dense forest, his dark coat semi-blending in with the environment around him.
