So I have somehow gotten the death cold and have been having to leave early from work two days in a row crying
I love money, I didn't want to leave to be sick.... maybe to go do something fun, but not to be sick.
But I wanted to get better so I could work the birthday party I have today gonk
I'm still coughing, I bet it's obvious I'm sick but I'm hoping it isn't. My managers will probably still let me work the party, though, they aren't very bright sweatdrop I had some cold medicine and I was so bad I sounded much worse than this the past two days, so hopefully the medicine will cover it up completely. I've discovered in the past when I put a wet wascloth on my forehead as I'm trying to sleep I'm usually 10 times better in the morning. It apparently did more than the medicine, that's for sure.
I'm not too worried about getting the kids sick, I think part of my problem was stress and overwork, but it just came on suddenly and hit me hard.
On the bright side, I was 5lbs over my average weight for awhile, now I'm right back down to that weight and my measurments are back to normal/slightly smaller than before. Wooh.
So, discuss: Being sick How you get over being sick Losing weight while sick

I hope you get better!
Yeah, I can't stand missing work. Especially since I'm in the tourism industry, and the season hasn't started yet. >_<

Oooh, tourism industry?
This summer I'm going to be working all the time, but it shouldn't be much different from now except some of my shifts will be at 8am instead of typically 12 at the earliest.

Yeah, I'm a banquet server at a hotel right now. I'm going to do that for the summer and collect the big bucks before heading off to something more steady.

You have to job hunt when your current job is going to be busy in the summer? confused
And that's starting to sound more like a bad sinus infection rather than a mere cold. sad

Sirbadmonkey You have to job hunt when your current job is going to be busy in the summer? confused And that's starting to sound more like a bad sinus infection rather than a mere cold. sad I've been afraid I'll be fired multiple times 'cause my management punishes me for things that aren't my fault, or treats me like crap and ignores me, the staff don't do what they need and they blame the supervisors for it. But I'm gonna try to work extra hard to keep my job, but it's still not worth the money. One interview I had I ended up not getting the job 'cause I told them I was going to stay at my current job for a month longer (like, even if they had hired me, I would've worked both jobs for at least a month), and I didn't care 'cause they guy made me feel like s**t for only making $7 an hour for supervisor work... which I already do feel dumb for -_- He also forgot my interview and went to lunch right then.
Anyways, yeah, I just want a second job for the extra money and to get out of my job, or to hopefully get a job with better pay and less stress, which is part of the reason why I'm so sick.
Oh, and the doctor said not only do I have a cold, but I have a pretty bad ear infection. Now I have medicine for it, though.

Ah, you're not stupid for being in your current position, we all have a really shitty job at some point or another. I did Night Audit at this sketchy Inn for a week, and that alone gave me a number of stories about how horrible that place is. But yeah, you can do better, and I'm sure you will. smile
And at least your illness won't be permanent, right?

I get frequent sinus infections just because it runs in the family. Especially when I'm really stressed, like during finals week, which is inconvenient. I once lost so much weight due to having food poisoning for several days, just because I was throwing up so much and I didn't want to eat anything. But my family, being my family blamed it all on me because I was fat, regardless of the fact that some of my other siblings were sick. And guess what? I gained all the weight back. And everyone said it was due to me being lazy when I was really going through puberty at the time.
