After regaining most of her lost memory, Cerri had purchased a small house in the town near the Muffin. It was nothing too fancy, just a simple, two level brownstone. There were flowers on the windowsills and growing in pots along the porch, and even from the outside, exuded a warm, homey feeling.
The inside gave much the same feel; it was cozy, decorated simply. There weren't many expensive trinkets or dusty tomes laying around. The place was very much what one would expect a housewife to put together, one who had children or was expecting them soon. All of the magical items were relegated to one room in the house, and there they stayed, out of sight and mind most of the time.
Back in it now for the first time in several weeks, Cerri sat at the kitchen table, sipping her tea and wondering how she'd managed to make herself leave. She knew, of course, that Lily's state had been the trigger, but... this really was home to her, no matter how much she liked the Muffin. Sleeping by her chair was the dog she'd picked at the pound, a mutt, white with brown splotches of color, who was probably no older than two. Occasionally, as she thought, she reached down to stroke his head, feeling rather content. The subject of these thoughts was mostly Guan, though every so often Arlen, Lily and Ukaia were featured in her musings.

"So this is your town house," Guan said from behind Cerri. He had let himself in as quietly as possible and was currently leaning down to kiss Cerri's cheek.

Cerri gave a bit of a start, then turned in her chair to look at him. "Yes... this is my home." she told him, then gave a laugh as the dog belatedly realized there was an intruder, picking his head up and giving a warning bark to Guan that was negated by the wagging tail. "It's okay Sam." she told the animal, then leaned up to kiss the man softly. "Good of you to come visit."

Guan smiled and reached down to pet Sam's head. "Wasn't sure if you wanted some time to yourself," he said, kissing Cerri again. "How've you been?"

Cerri smiled at the dog as he gave one last tail wag, then settled his head on his paws, going back to sleep. "I've been good." she told the man, slipping her arms loosely around her waist. As it always was when she was here, the patch was off, and she looked more relaxed and at ease than she had at the inn. "And the time to myself was a bit refreshing... well, time with Sam, anyway." she corrected with a laugh. "How about you?"

"I've been missing you terribly," Guan said, wrapping his arms around Cerri. "I don't suppose you have anything a tired old man like me could do to help out around here."

Cerri smiled a bit, leaning against him as she let her eye close. "Mmm... I guess I could probably find something. It would depend on long said tired old man was staying." she gave him a light squeeze, then nuzzled his neck. "And I missed you too. It was the only thing that kept the past few days from being completely perfect."

"Well if you missed me that much I don't see why I have to go back," Guan said, giving Cerri a squeeze. "I could stay with you until my poor body finally gives out."

Cerri smiled, chuckling a bit, then lifted her head to kiss him softly. "I think that sounds like a splendid idea. Tell me, how good are you with dishes?" she teased, one hand slipping around to his chest, stroking lightly. "I've been looking for someone to wash or dry while I do the other. I'd even let you have first choice about which you did."

"Washing's bad for my arthritis," Guan said, grinning and kissing Cerri back. "I'll stick to drying if you don't mind."

"I don't mind in the slightest." she answered with a laugh, then hugged him before letting go and stepping back. "Can I offer you some tea, or anything to eat?" she asked, already heading toward the kettle on the stove.

"Sit right at the table." Cerri told him over her shoulder, smiling as she grabbed a cup and poured his tea. "I eat in here most of the time, unless I've got guests that I need to impress..." she winked at him, then hummed quietly as she set the kettle down and fished in one of the drawers for a spoon.

"Thank you." Cerri answered, quiet pride in her voice. "I just about broke my bank account getting it set up, but... I think it was worth it." she brought him his tea, then took the seat beside him. "And really... you are welcome here anytime, even if I'm not here at the time or you decide not to dry the dishes for me."
