I have to pick a piece to sing with this guy, but I can't really think of anything.... So... what are some of your favorite duets?

It would help if we knew vocal parts...like, for soprano and bari I absolutely love "Dangerous Game" from Jekyll and Hyde, but for a soprano and tenor duo I might choose "Your the Top" or something like that. Also, it depends on your personal preferences; if you dislike singing jazz or Broadway, for instance, my two suggestions kinda suck. sweatdrop But with a little more info I'd love to help!
Pick something that complements the two of you, and that you'll enjoy. If you think it's fun and you look forward to singing it, you'll sound better when you do perform.

Me from Beauty and the Beast, though the girl doesn't really get to sing..

"Little Red Hat" from 110 in the Shade is REALLY fun. We, as a cast, voted it "song that saved the show" when we did that musical... not really an experience I prefer to remember, but that duet was awesome. smile
There were a few other good duets from that show as well.
"It takes two" from Into the Woods.
"If I loved you" from Carousel
"(not) getting married" by Sondheim... don't remember which show. I first heard it in Side by Side by Sondheim, so there were songs from a lot of different musicals. Though, this one's really fast and frantic on the girl's part, doesn't really allow for showing off your voice, just how fast you can sing and how good your diction is.
that's all I can come up with off the top of my head.
