-- Okay, I know there probably is a correct way to pronounce it out there. But when I first saw the name, I got really confused and started to think of it pronounced as "Car-el-iz-el" [Kinda like "Carl Is L"]. I told my father and he was like, "no, It's Carl-I-L" [Like when you say 'isle', you don't say the 's']
How do YOU pronounce it?

BUT. No one's asked how to prounced Debussy. Is it said with an accent like De-bu-say? Or is it just De-boo-see?

According to the lady on the audiobook, it's De-bu-say.
But to Carlisle- At first I totally misread it and constantly called him Char-lll-see. Then I realized there was no 'h' and said Car-lll-see. My friend called him Car-lis-lee. Then I heard Stephenie reading and found out it was Car-lie-lll.
Laurent is another controversial one. It can be said two ways-with an accent (Laur-aunt) or without an accent (Laur-ent).

Car-lile. I had a teacher in fifth grade with that as a last name; that's the only reason I know.

I've always pronounced them as "Carl-isle" (or "Carl-eye-l" if that looks easier) and "Laur-aunt".

I had touble with his name, so I've jsut replaced it all with Dr. Cullen.
It's easier on my Brain and Mouth.

Well anyone who pronounced it Car-lie-l (okay i dunno how to break it down for you) is right. i mrean when I looked at his name I spotted @ words in in CARL and ISLE and in the english language how do u pronounce isle? EYE-l (once again i can't break down words properly...) sweatdrop
I t took me a while to figure it out, for a while i was pronouncing it Carslie because it was easier for me but I realized I had written a report on Twilight for English and I had to read it to the class...so I had to learn how to pronounce his name.
