Zagaa'Tamanio was out walking around the outskirts of the oasis hoping that today would be the day Malika'eusi returned. She knew that it was hopeless but she couldn't help but continuing the routine she went through everyday.
First she got up and made sure that her sisters were still there and safe then she went hunting for whatever she could catch, then she took to walking around the boarderlines. It was something she couldn't shake even after facing the facts. "Why won't you return to us?" Tama shouted into the wind trying to get an answer from someone, something, anything really but as usual she was met only by silence.
"I must be a fool." The young lion spoke aloud knowing that no one would answer, all of her siblings were still sleeping, at least they were whe she last checked on them.

 Rather than reassuring her older sister by telling her that she wasn't foolish, Vinya'nyota simply yawned and flopped into a sitting position at Zagaa'Tamanio's side. Clearly, making others feel better about themselves just wasn't high on her list of priorities.
"Still no sign?" She murmered, her lilac eyes narrowing towards the horizon. The sun was only just rising, causing the young female to yawn again. "I really don't know how you keep this up." Her eyes breifly glanced towards her sister. "Did you sleep at all last night?" Vinya rarely showed concern for any of her siblings, so Zagaa was lucky in that sense.

Zagaa'Tamanio was slightly startled by the sudden appearance of her younger sibling. The juvenile did her best to hide the fact she had been taken off guard. It wouldn't do well for her 'image'.
The green striped cub shook her head in disappointment. "Unfortunately no Vinya, no sign at all....frankly..." The female paused unsure if she should continue or not but then she had to because she had already started. "I'm begining to believe that she will never come back, that there is no hope for us....at least....not if we stay here." The juve's tail flicked behind her three times before it fell motionless for a minute or two. "Truth be told, -I- don't know how I keep this up....." Tama told her sibling with a sigh as she shook her head. "I slept little, it's hard to get any sleep here, besides there's just so much that I need to do that there really isn't any time for me to sleep."
It was true, the young lion was so busy keeping her siblings alive that she rarely had a moment to herself, down time if you will. But it didn't really matter to Tama, as long as her sisters were alive and doing decent that was all that mattered to her.

Vinya'nyota frowned and shook her head. Although it annoyed her that their mother abandoned them, it annoyed her almost as much that her older sister even cared. "Let's say she doesn't come back. Then what?" She spat, clearly letting the high stress of the situation get to her. "Are you just gonna stand out here forever?"
Knowing full-well that it wasn't right to take it all out on her sister, she took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "I...just don't thing she's worth it Zaggy." Vinya had a habit of refering to others by nicknames she thought up herself. Her head tilted slightly as she looked at her sister. "Know what I mean?"

A sigh escaped the maw of the oldest. She shook her head in defeat before she finally spoke again. "She isn't coming back, at least not in time to find us alive....." She mumbled remembering her conversations with her other sisters. "I know she won't come back, but I....well I just can't help but hope that I'm wrong, that she will come back, that she'll show up in the morning one day and take us from this horrid place..." Despite herself she was growing emotional, a bit too much for her liking. "I know that is probably isn't worth waiting here, waiting here with viturally nothing to survive off of. But she's still my mother and I can't help it....."
Another sigh escaped Zagaa's maw as she hung her head in slight shame. "I just don't really know what to do." She paused for a moment taking a shaky breath and regaining her composure. "All of the other adults have already left, I'm not sure if any remain and I don't think we'll survive if we leave but at the same time.....we won't survive if we remain here..." Another pause as her mind scrambled to find the right words. "Our food supply is running dangerously low, I'm not sure how much longer it will last us.....I....I just don't know what to do."
It was hard for the green striped juvenile to admitt that, especially since she didn't want the others to know that she was scared. Scared that she wouldn't be able to keep them alive, scared that they would never escape the hell hole they were currently living in, and most of all scared that she was going to let them all down, that she wouldn't be able to fufill her duties as the oldest.

Vinya breifly rolled her eyes. "There's no 'probably' about it. She isn't coming back, and the longer we stay here, the more likely it is that we'll end up food for the vultures!" Usually it was difficult to tell that Vinya'nyota was one of the younger sisters, as she tended to keep her emotions in check. But seeing her sister in the same spot day after day annoyed her to no end, and it was about time she showed her age.
"Grrr!" She let out a frustrated shriek and smacked the ground with one of her front paws. "I'm fed up of this place Zaggy!" Again she smacked the ground, kicking up an even bigger cloud of sand than the first time. "My throat is constantly dry, there's nothing to do, and it's too frickin' hot!"
Feeling a bit better after her mini-rant, she again turned back to her sister, waiting for her response.

Zagaa'Tamanio moved closer to her pink sibling. "I know, I know, I want to leave too but, I'm not sure -how- we're going to leave, there isn't anyone here that could take us out safely, this place right now is the only place where we are remotely safe, at least there's some food and water here....." A sigh escaped the juve's maw as she shook her head before raising a paw and brushing her bangs out of her yellow eyes.
"We need to talk to the others, as a collective, I know that everyone wants to leave, the only thing we need to settle is how......" A pause followed as the green striped lion fell deep into thought. Finally she spoke again. "The desert is a cruel place Vinya, we could spend days, weeks, our life time searching for the ends of the desert and never finding it....If only....If only" She shook her head at the 'If only' part of her sentence. "If only's won't help us..." She then mumbled.

What her sister said made sense. Most of what Zagaa'Tamanio said made sense. "You're right...but then, we're gonna die out here anyway aren't we? I'd rather take my chances in the desert than wait here and die. A chance is better than no chance at all."
Vinya rolled her eyes at the mention of her other siblings. Zagaa was the only one she could ever really make time for. The rest just annoyed her in their own unique ways. So did her oldest sister, but not to the extent that the rest of them did. "Whatever. The sooner we get out of here though the better."

"I understand." Zagaa'Tamanio replied to her younger sister. "The sooner we talk with the others, the sooner we leave." Silence then followed her words as she gazed out into the seemingly endless sea of sand. Eventually after a few minutes she turned back to Vinya.
"If you'll excuse me, I have some....errands to run." She nodded to her pink marked sister before turning and trotting off into the shadows of the trees that littered the oasis.

Vinya'nyota tilted her head as Zagaa went to leave. "What errands?" She quickly got to her feet and trotted after her sister, walking just a little bit behind her. "You don't have to be all secretive you know." She said with a slight frown.
(( xd We should at least reach the 2nd page, so the RP is long enough to be used if either of us decide to breed our girl. ))

At the sound of her sisters call Zagaa'Tamanio stopped and turned around padding back silently to Vinya. "Just the usual." The green marked female replied simply thinking it was obvious to her sister what 'the usual' was. "Secretive? I'm not being secretive." Tama simply stated with a shake of her head. "What makes you say that?" She asked with a tilt of her head and a furrow of her brow.

Vinya'nyota stopped and shrugged her shoulders slightly. "I don't know...you've always seemed kinda guarded..." She trailed off as she thought carefully about how to word what she was saying. "I know you're the oldest, so you feel a sort of responsibility for the rest of us...but seriously, you're our sister, not our mother...you don't have to be all up-tight, and keep stuff hidden..."
Although Zagaa had opened up to her today, that was a rather rare occurance. Her sister almost always remained strong, probably in an effort to protect Vinya and her other sister from unneeded heartache.

Zagaa'Tamanio listened rather carefully to her siblings words and thoughts on the matter. The green marked cub shook her head and let out a light laugh, her white tuff of hair falling into one of her yellow colored eyes.
"I'm not hiding anything." She stated with a slight nod of her head. "I do what I have to. That's all." She finished with a straight face, no laughter,humor or happiness could be found upon her features then, it was really sadness and determination "I do what I have to..." She repeated once more before turning away.

Vinya's eyes flickered with concern as she looked over her sister. She was laughing one minute and looking sad the next, which definatly wasn't a good thing. "You don't HAVE to do anything." She frowned. "No one's asking you to." She didn't mean that in a nasty way, as she knew that she and her other sisters may have been dead by now if not for Zagaa. But they were older now, and not as needy.
"You deserve a break sis, seriously."

Zagaa shook her head. "I fear that you are mistaken Vinya. Event though no one is asking me to do anything, I have things that I must do." The green striped juvenile knew that sher sister wanted to help, was trying to help but nothing the pink and white juve could do to sway her in any way, shape or form. She did smile at her attempts though.
They were older, but Zagaa was the only one who really knew how to hunt, at least as far as she knew, having taught herself as best she could when her mother disappeared and had no one to teach her. "I can't take a break until I can be completely sure of our survival and the safety of my siblings." She stated with nod. "I do thank you for caring." She paused for a brief moment before finishing "I'll be fine, you don't need to worry about me."
No one had forced her to take on the responsibilities, she had taken them all upon herself.
