((Take a guess as to what this is. If you want to RP here go ahead, just have a good reason for how and why your character would be where Arlen is. Which will change from time to time and be rather ill defined for the most part.))
"Good," Mao, the female monk Arlen was currently training under, said. "Now touch into the Azure Glare again, but don't draw it into yourself."
In his mind Arlen was in the circle of flame again. Carefully he reached out and laid his hand so it was barely touching the brilliant blue flame.
"Feel the pulse of the flame. The Azure Glare is the flame of brilliance and knowledge. With it you can reveal that which is hidden and view that which is far away."
Arlen could feel as if the flame he was touching was filled with untold secrets it yearned to share with him.
"One of the most useful techniques the Azure Glare is used in is the Eye of Flame. With it you can see through any Azure Glare you have touched. Now reach out to a fire you are familiar with like we practiced earlier. Lay your free hand upon it in your mind and let the Azure Glare flow through you and into that fire."
Arlen nodded and reached to the most familiar flame he knew, the fireplace at the Muffin.

"Now focus," Mao instructed Arlen. "See not with your eyes, but with the Eye of the Flame that burns in the center of your forehead.
Arlen nodded as he felt the Glare congregate on his forehead. Suddenly he could see the inside of the Muffin. It took a while for it to focus properly and for the color to be corrected, but there it was, and there Lily was too.

Arlen's heart was filled with longing for Lily as he focused on her. Unfortunately, the pang of emotion shattered his concentration and he lost his hold on the fire. In his mind the Azure Glare temporarily flared up, blinding him. "Aagh!" he cried out as he fell backwards, bringing his hand to his eyes.
"You lost your focus," Mao said disappointedly, shaking her head at Arlen.
