In case you didn't know, apparently some people in the Queen thread are dissing our guild because we have an admission test, saying that we're pretentious farts because we're weeding out others and only inviting exclusive jackasses.
So I ask you, fellow members, what do you think of the test? Are we snobs for having it? Is it that bad? Do you think those who oppose it are righteous and true?

I kinda like the test. It ensures that this guild isnt full of weirdos that post randomly for gold, spam, and stuff like that. It's Popo's guild, and Popo's choice. If she wants it, then we have it. Its a good idea to have a test like this. Like it says on the front of the guild.... Quote: Hello there! The original Queen guild was supposed to be a sort of Utopia-- there were promises of intellectual discussions and zero spamming. Those promises were not met, and that's how this place came to be. At the time, the four of us creators could only imagine a brief quiz as the most logical way to weed out serious folks from spammers. You know what? i'm proud that we have an admission test. Not only does it show that we are capable of having an active discussion without stupid spam and unreadable posts, it shows that we care enough about our shared passion to sit down and actually be sane about it. The test shows that we have standards, and we're not some "OMG FREDDY MERCURY ROGGER FANCLUB LOL!!1!" It's not about pretention; some grammar can be ignored for the sake of an idea, like my never capitalizing my i's when referring to myself. We're not Nazis, just true fans. And besides, i, for one, have yet to meet a single jackass here.

I've honestly never seen what the guild's application questions are, so I can't really say much about it. Could someone post it for my perusal, per chance? I got invited to the guild just for posting something in the Official Queen thread, and I must say I'm still kinda surprised that I got in here. xd Given... I have heard almost every album Queen put out (thank goodness for my Rhapsody subscription!), but I'm not an authority by any means. razz

Well, this is stupid. wink They're obviously doing this to get a rise out of us, so I do believe that it's time to close down this topic and have a good laugh-- at their expense.
