After meeting with Dharba, Ivie had considerably brightened. She moved with a slight trot to her step and her eyes shone with a new life. She was back with her family had a new friend and had beautiful surroundings to keep her occupied. Life was perfect.

She hummed peacefully to herself as she moved across the sandy ground, enjoying the feel of it between her toes.

The air here smelt nice too, salty and thick as if it cleansed her lungs of dirt. She loved it here, yes, but she had no idea whether she'd ever be able to stay.

"Oh!" She gave a small exclamation as she came across a small crab scuttling across the ground. "Hello!" She bounded after it, moving to block it's path and watched as it edged sideways, trying to get around her.

Ivie giggled.

“Are you talking to a crab?”

Ausi asked with a soft smile. The lean lioness had been resting just a few feet away, studying the other’s movements and step with bright eyes. She seemed so happy- Ausi just loved seeing that... happy. Happy was such a good emotion to show!

“Oh! Sorry- that was rude. I’m Ausi! I was just sun bathing and then you came into my view so… I deiced to say something! I meant to say hello, I think but it came out wrong.”

Oh she was rambling. She did this a lot when she was trying to explain herself.

“Haha, forgive me!”

She gave another weak smile and rolled herself up onto her paws. Her eyes were light blue and her pelt was a mixture between dark and light and a bright red color masked her face and back side. Asui was a sight for sore eyes that was for sure. Not too many others carried her mixture of colors… well, other then her blood line.

A sudden voice caused Ivie's head to snap up. Her eyes widened a little anxiously. Who was there? It was then that she spotted the odd coloured lioness. For most definately Ivie had never seen one of her colours before. She look striking indeed with a pelt that she wouldn't forget in a long time. It was so bright and colourful that it almost had her entranced.

Beautiful, this other lioness was, exotic perhaps.

Almost instantly Ivie found herself liking this other, her tone so carefree and happy. She trotted over, forgetting the crab, and paused a few strides away.

"Oh that's okay!" She beamed, watching as the other girl got to her paws. "I'm Ivie'lingwa. Are you another pride member?" She sighed, wishing that she was back at the Pridelands where she belonged. Here she was just hanging around, waiting to see if someone noticed her and liked her enough to allow her to join. Why would anyone like her? She had no idea...

"I'm glad you called. That crab didn't talk much anyway. I think I upset it..." She flicked her ears.

“No, no. Crabs don’t normally talk back, I don’t think you upset it any.”

She smiled at Ivie and nodded. Ivie Was so soft color wise and Ausi had never seen such a color before… it was like a soft green, like soft green grass. She has odd but very beautiful. Ausi giggled to herself. Everyone she had spoken to here was in one way or another… beautiful to her though she didn’t understand why.

Her eyes shifted as she spoke again.

“I live here- Pride member… I don’t really know yet, my father and myself have lived here for a while now.”

Her red toed paws pushed back and forth as she shifted in place.

“It’s lovely, isn’t it? Or do you not come from here?”

"Oh? They don't...talk?" She turned back to try and locate the little creature but found to her dismay that it was gone. "That's a shame...I'm pretty sure if he had been able tot alk he would have been very interesting." She nodded, thinking of all the wonderful underwater stories she could have heard.

"I don't come from here, no. I'm a pridelander." Ivie'lingwa spoke, though her ears drooped slightly. "Well...I was." She adored that pride with all of her heart and the only reason she was here now was because her family was here.

"My mother left so I followed." It sounded silly for an adult to say something like that, but she was still very dependant and clingy. "I didn't want to live without her close by..." Yet this lioness had said her father was here? Then she wasn't the only one!

She flicked her tail. "But yes, it is lovely here. It's very, very different and it's nice to see new places. Where did you come from originally?"

“I come from…”

How would Ausi explain this- she couldn’t even explain it to herself a lot of the time. She hated thinking about it.

“My old home was covered with waterfalls that had all dried up. It was once a lovely place to live but it isn’t any longer. This is my home now; this place makes me feel safe.”

She did enjoy thinking about the better times in her past but when she really thought about things it was all sad stories and memories. Her mother left with one of her sisters, her father was always alone or worried and she had made It so hard for him to get by.

She was so out of hand back then, always wanting to get away.

Well, she finally did and here she was. Free and on her own… she had even made a family all of her own. She wondered where her cubs where now- Maybe out with Fedha?

“Mmm. Mother.”

She repeated to herself. Oh how she missed her own mother… would she ever see her again? With a deep sight Ausi gave her new friend a weak smile and spoke.

“Well, you are more then welcome to stay with me if you want, you know… it’s easier when you know others and I could show you around, maybe even introduce you to my family?”

Her tail waved lazily from side to side as she listened to the other adult speak. It was strange how this one also seemed to be...hmm...like herself? Most adults she met were similar to her mother, wise and mature and quite serious. She had been worried about growing up to be a bit of a bore, but now she could see that she didn't have to be.

She could just be herself. Forever young at heart and in mind.

"That's so sad." Ivie whispered and her black-rimmed ears dipped. "Atleast you found a new home, right? This place is very lovely and there is plenty of water all around...though you can't drink it..."

"I would love it if you could show me around. I got terribly lost a while back." She gave an almost sheepish expression and pawed at the ground. "And if I'm going to be living here I'd love to make some friends and such...you know? I don't like to be lonely and I've only really got one proper friend and he can't be around all the time." She wished Dharba was here now but knew he would not leave his mother.

"Oh you have a family?" Her eyes brightened. "That's so nice! I'd love to meet them very much." She adored cubs.

Ausi’s soft blue eyes went wide as she smiled brightly at Ivie.

“Well, I can be your friend!”

She wanted that badly! Really Ausi only knew her family here, she hadn’t gone out of her way to make friends just yet, when she was smaller she had played with a cub from this place and had even spoken to the king but as she got older she became more inverted and spent less time with others and kept to herself.

Well, that was also because back then she was heavy with cubs at a young age and crying over the loss of a loved one. Back then things were harder… but it had all worked itself out. Her mate was alive and her cubs had a home with a caring mother and father. Her life with her cubs and Fedha meant everything to her and without then she wouldn’t be here today.

“I would love if you could see them. I have four, three boys and one girl… they are all blessings to me. They all shine so brightly in my life and keep my mind settled when I am in worry.. they make me so happy.”

She beamed happily and moved a little closer. "Yay, that's good! Then I won't be lonely and neither will you!" She sighed with slight relief at this. "It'll make this pride easier to live with if I have a friend alongside my family."

Ivie had been too afraid to make friends when she had been younger, driven to solitude by her seer powers. Only Fedha had truly been there for her, awakening her to what she truly was. Now with her age she was beginning to learn that if she was happy then she would not be haunted by those frightening images. All she had to do was smile.

"They sound so lovely! I thought I would have cubs someday too, but the only male I ever loved...well...he didn't love me so I've decided that males aren't worth it. I'm glad you found yourself the right lion though. It's nice to see someone happy in this world." She sighed. "What is it like? Being a mother, I mean." She wondered how it felt to have little lives depending on you, needing you. She imagined it to be wonderful.

“It’s hard and stressful a lot of the time because I worry so much about them. I worry every time they leave my sight that something bad will happen to them because I am not there with him. I worry when I do not hear from them every hour, and I worry about them when they are right beside me but even though I spend a good deal of my time stressing over the safety of my cubs… I wouldn’t change it for the world. They bring me such joy and they teach me things no one else could.”

She paused for a moment and gave her new friend a soft nuzzle before adding.

“Do not think that way... maybe things didn’t work out back then but you have your whole life ahead of you and if one male couldn’t see what a wonderful heart you have then he really isn’t worth your time or tears. You are so very kind, I can see it now and your heart is huge, Never let anyone or thing keep you from doing the things in life that you long to do. Never let anyone keep you from your dreams.”

Her father had told her this a while ago and it had helped her so much, she just had to say it to Ivie. Nothing was worth killing a dream. Nothing.

She listened with ears drawn forwards and an expression of awe on her face. To have little minature versions of yourself. To have your heart and soul take a form of its own. It must be wonderful and scary all at once. She closed her eyes and tried to picture that little cub she had seen in her vision.

A mix of grey and green.

Dharba and herself?

No. No she could not do that, not to him and not to herself. Being with him would be like using him, having him because he reminded her of his brother. It would be pasting another's face onto Dharba's own.

No. No. No.

Yet she had to admit that she was already fond of Dharba. She missed him even now, perhaps more than she missed Fedha. Or maybe she was just desperate, trying to throw herself at any other male so she could try and forget. Forget the pain and the betrayal.

She never, ever would have guessed that she was speaking with Fedha's mate. Never.

"They give you a purpose," she continued cheerfully. "They complete that gap in life." Ivie could almost imagine what it was like...but not quite.

"But what if chasing a dream means hurting others in the process?" She asked quietly. For though she longed to chase after Fedha, make him hers, she knew she could not. For all she knew he had a dear little mate and cubs of his own. Could she hurt them just to satisfy her broken heart? Was she that cruel? She didn't think so...
PostPosted: Sun Apr 29, 2007 7:50 am

“But if the dream hurt you so... would you really want to chase it? Really?”

Ausi questioned with soft eyes. She knew her pain in a way, she too had once been so lost within fear and pain and though she didn’t know Ivie’s story Ausi felt for her all the same. Love was never easy, even now she struggled with her mate; Fedha.

“When the time is right… you will know because nothing else at that time will matter, only you and the one you love; and then you will know. The world could be in flames… and you wouldn’t care, just so long as he is beside you, with you when it all goes down.”

"Thank you Ausi." She whispered and yet again she was extremely thankful they had met. It was like having a great weight lifted from her soul. To meet someone who seemed to truly understand her.

She purred.

"You're right. I think...I think I'll just stop fighting the current. I'll let myself be taken downstream and hope that I end up somewhere nice. I'm tired of battling, of feeling sad. I just want to look forward to the unknown future and hope it brings some light to my life."

She smiled then an puckered out her whiskers. "I think it already has."

Then she gave another smile and turned to the exotic lioness, who had become her newfound friend. "Do you and your family live close by?"

Ausi smiled softly and purred back in return.

“Oh yes! We do live close by, come with me, I am sure my father would love some company! He has been looking after my little ones all afternoon, haha.”

Her blue eyes narrowed as she gave her new friend a wide grin and stood up right. She would take her to see the family; Ausi was a proud mother after all.

(( sorry dear! I completely missed that you replied to this. Shall we finish this one and set up a new RP for the next part?))

"Your father sounds lovely! Especially if he babysits!" Ivie giggled and trotted up to walk alongside her. "I wish my father was still here but I think he and mother had a fight, though she never mentioned it. One day he just....he just wasn't there anymore." She gave a small shrug of her shoulders and followed Ausi to the den.

"Anyways, enough about that! Let's go and see your cublings!" Her tail twisted in excitement and as she walked a gentle purr rumbled from her throat.

Yes things were looking up....

But no vision could ever have prepared her for the turn of events that lay ahead.
