OK, here's one for you. I have a HP with half a meg memory, run under WindowsXP, use Firefox (latest version) and IE (latest version).
I have ZoneAlarm, AVG free edition, SpySweeper, and Ad-Aware as my security software.
I also have a problem. I cannot see certain things on this site. The areas are the trade window, where I cannot see the other person's trade item unless it is a game item, in which case I can see the numbers and mouse over them to see what the item is. Mousing around their side in general will not show me any other item, even if one is there.
The links above our name on each page, for Announcement, Quest, event, f/r, trade, and mail do not show at all. However, I can mouse over these and a tag comes up telling me what it is, and if there is activity.
I have gone nuts trying to get these problems solved. I have them on another site as well.
I have shut down all of my security software and still have the problem. Of course, I activated all security software after experimenting.
I don't know if those items are JavaScript, Java, or what.
Help?

I couldn't hold a good disccusion about computers.. sweatdrop To make your computer run faster and better: For Windows: (Sorry I don't use apple computers so I don't know much about them redface ) Start arrow All Programs arrow Accessories arrow System Tools arrow Disk Defragmenter. This tool will arrange your files so they aren't fragmented, The cause of the computer being slow. It also could be a virus. Try scanning your computer for viruses if you haven't in the past month. Also it could be how old the computer is. How much RAM does your computer have? To find RAM: Start--Right click my computer--Properties--RAM will be on the bottom window.

Help? This could be two things: One, Sometimes if you have more than one virus software on the computer, They could interfere with each other and clog up your system. The second thing could be: Depending if you are using firefox or IE... Firefox: Tools--Options--Content tab--make sure Java script and Java are checked and that you have the latest version. Click Privacy Tab--Private Data section--Clear now--check all boxes--Clear Now (NOTE: This will clear all saved passwords) IE: Tools--Internet Options-- Go to Temp. Internet files section--Click Delete Files--Un-check, Delete all offline content--Click OK.(NOTE: WILL DELETE SAVED PASSWORDS) Then Go to Security--Internet section--Custom--Scroll down to Scripting(Near bottom) Enable Scripting of Java Appletts if not already. Tell me if this works or not and I can help you more

Is there any way I can save those passwords? Download them or copy and paste?
I use a lot of different pw's and I'd hate to lose them all.

MustangDragon Is there any way I can save those passwords? Download them or copy and paste? I use a lot of different pw's and I'd hate to lose them all. OK, I found a way to save off the pw's. I downloaded and installed the latest Java. Now I'm having trouble finding the latest version of JavaScript. Meanwhile, neither clearing the pw's nor updating the Java have helped. I suspected all along it was JavaScript, since when I view source, that is what I am seeing. However, there seem to be many sites that Gaia uses for these buttons and things, so it may be I have to give permission for those sites to be accessed. I'll check that out too. Thanks for your advice!

thanks. I have checked a lot of places, including that one, and it seems that your browser has to have the update. So, when your browser needs updating, you get the latest javascript update. My browsers don't need updating. I give up. I will try to check page sources and make sure all of the URL's in them are cleared in my security thing. All I can think of at this point. I can't even see the design or background of my own profile, let alone anyone elses.

I use Firefox most of the time, and I still havent solved the problem. sad My next approach is to find in the source code of various pages exactly what other sites are referenced, and check if my browser has blocked those sites. I think there is a yahoo site referenced in at least one of the pages.
