If anyone lives in NYC I'd like to point out a few McDojo's:

1) Silent Thunder of Coney Island, Brooklyn.
2) NY Budokan of Brooklyn (According to a few people who went there, and a close friend who sparred the sensais there.)

There are a few others that I want to see before making any assumptions.
Some friends and I usually go to a few dojo's and go "undercover" so to speak. One of joins and then tests out the place.

Usually we end up with a teacher that if challenged to a sparring match replies with "I've got too many moves that might kill you" or some crap like that.

our Sensei told us about McDojos. We are on the west coast over here, and our sensei said if a style isn't effective on the street don't take it. An associate and I once wandered down one of the highways and stopped by to watch 'elite martial arts" dojo. There were a bunch of kids running about like power rangers with real Sai.
We watched for perhaps 30 minutes trying to keep a straight face as they were taught "ninja pinch" and screamed really loud chanting their dojo anthem like some 1980s 'tweener B movie.
We then went ot a Tae Kwon Do building and watched from outside through a giant pane glass window. The person who was with me trained under some Freeman Gracie (i think thats' what he called his teacher) and spent some time in winter teaching the police officers after spending time at our Aikido dojo.

I've found that asside from Ninja-itsu the most prolific Mcdojos are Tae Kwon Do. Karate variants including self proclaimed shotokan and variants following in 3rd place.

I've heard Tiger Schullman's school is rather... shady.
