Ray=Out is LATE! WTF are you guys doing?!
Well, by now everyone know that Ray=Out Flash! Issue 04 was delayed for almost a week and a half. During this time, many people complained....more people than we even thought READ this magazine! eek
But contrary to popular belief, the delay was NOT caused by us! No, it wasn't the insane number of people vouching for Kayako's attention in various rpgs....it wasn't the fact that we had no media and therefore had to turn to Soren for entertaining stuff. It wasn't the fact that certain people's sisters won't leave them the heck alone when they've made it perfectly clear they're busy working on a webzine. And, of course, it was NOT caused by us being lazy shmoes.
No, my friends, the delay in Ray=Out happened because....our headquarters was ATTACKED!!! eek Yes, that's right! No, I'm not making it up! ....Shaddup, I mean it! We were all sitting in the office Monday morning, getting ready to post Ray=Out #4, and Soren was telling us about this fungus in his basement.
But just then, as we were about to tell him once and for all that we do NOT care what grows in his house...
They attacked us, and made off with 57 dollars, a shoe, and Rekka's pants!!! gonk
It's taken us all this time just to rid the office of that weird gunpowder-type smell that ninjas leave behind....

Joxcab's banning: He's innocent, we swear!!
Okay, so we can't exactly prove anything, but we would all like to think that our dear ole captain Joxcab would NOT be able to do what it is the Gaia Online mods accused him of!
Everyone knows by now I'm sure that recently, our guild's own Captain Joxcab's main account was banned completely from the site. Shortly afterwards, Kayako 99 contacted Jox and discussed this, and she was able to get some information on the matter. The message the mods sent him when this happened stated that they were banning him for....buying porn with gaia gold. No explanation as to where they get their information, no elaboration on what exactly this alleged activity entailed, that was all they gave him.
We say: "WTF?!"
While we cannot vouch for all of our Captain's activities, as we are not him, we at Ray=Out Flash!, as well as many guilders, stand by the belief that there is no way Joxcab would ever do such a thing. He told us the same thing himself from his mule account that day it happened, and so far we have found no supporting evidence proving otherwise. In fact, we've found more evidence pointing to his innocence. However it was nothing the Gaia mods would except, unfortunately. When faced with this information we put forth a variety of questions to him, including whether or not he'd been trying to 'trick' anyone recently. (This would mean pretending to be interested in someone who is offering some manner of nasty deal so you could gain evidence to report them. It is a common practice these days, most commonly used in Towns to report cybering.) This would be the only way to explain how the Gaia mods had gotten a report about him that wasn't falsified completely. While his answer to Kayako was that he wasn't sure, we think this may in fact be the case after seeing a certain reply from a member who shall remain anonymous.
We did not have alot of time to investigate this incident further the day it started, because with this banning the guild was put into a crisis. There was no leader! We NEEDED a captain, and we couldn't very well get a new one with the old one unable to step down because of a banned account!
Since it was a time of day when no one was really around, those members that were in contact with Jox tried their best to come up with some way to get Joxcab's other account up to captain status while the real captain account was unaccessible and unable to step down. It was a real problem, and one that the mods and vice captain's DIDN'T need, thank you.
Luckily, an hour or so into the panic, Olorin, a prominent guild member, finally showed up and gave us a plan of action. He informed that "Captain's Guild", (which for the record Kayako didn't think of as she's not IN it) of the situation, and they effectively disappointed the banned account, and Sir Joxcab was (re)instated. A nice ending, though the panic and head banging was something most of use could do without, and we hope we will never have to deal with again.
Recently, a petition to un-ban Joxcab's regular account has been formed, and it rests at the top of the guild's Main Page as an announcement. Though it is not certain, or very hopeful, that the Gaia administrators will un-ban it without proof of his innocence, we will all keep trying. We hope to get signatures from everyone in the guild, and maybe the admins will finally listen if 500+ people call a foul. After all, without members Gaia is just another waste of web space.
On a happier note, Kayako is currently working Joxcab's case, and at this time is trying to uncover the material that may have gotten him banned. Though most likely the material has been moved or disposed of, she will still try and hopefully succeed.

Eureka Streaming: A little special
Recently, many of you have become aware of yet ANOTHER new addition to our little guild of happiness, strawberry jam, giant robots and crazy people. This would be, of course, the YouTube stream started by captain Joxcab!
Now, many of you probably don't know what a YouTube "stream" is, and to some it probably sounds like some sort of very dangerous virus. And if it so happens that you DO know.....well, good for you! Because I sure didn't get what the heck a video stream was before I was introduced to this one.
The stream works a little like this. You enter through a link or a click, and are met with a nice light-colored setup with the background being the Control Cluster from episode 50. The first thing you might do is check out the Stream Library, where all the uploaded movies are stored. Anyone can add videos to the "Stream Library", but only the creator can delete vids. There is a form for submitting a video easily available, though it may take a minute to understand how the drop-down menus work. Newly added vids will be added to the current playlist automatically, but users can choose what's being played at any given time. I would though like to state that changing the video while someone's watching an AMV is very, very rude, and will be met with a pipe to the head. There is a volume switch on all YouTube videos, use it please, or control your videos separately. (The options allow you to watch something different while others watch a vid, but if you click the wrong button, it'll be broadcasted on everyone's screen and people may get mad.)
This brings us to an important note. The rules of the Eureka Seven Guild Stream are: ONLY videos related to Eureka Seven can be added, AND you CANNOT POST EPISODES. Violating either rule will result in trouble.
It should also be noted that the stream is public, meaning anyone, even those not affiliated with the guild, can view it and add videos. This causes some problems, however since some guilders do not have YouTube accounts we cannot make it private. If you happen to see anyone posting inappropriate vids, you need to contact Joxcab at once. Though Kayako is a stream moderator, she has found that she cannot delete vids, only keep them from being played while she's there. If the video is VERY inappropriate however (i.e, sexual content) you may click the video and open it in a separate tab/window, where you can flag it for abuse. That should effectively shut it down. Once a vid is flagged, it will not play. Joxcab can then remove it.
If you would like to join in the stream, you can find it HERE. Please follow the rules. Even if no one is on, you can browse the library where there are many great Eureka AMV's and even a special or two.

Due to some disatisfaction with the ending to Eureka Seven, websites and forums have been in an uproar (probably), demanding a follow-up movie or even another season. There is only one way to quell this raging mob's anger: an ending that answers all questions, inconsistencies, and various other questions no one wanted to know the answers to.

More Rekka Randomness, yay!
Today I shall ramble at you about… beans. You’ve heard the song, “Beans, beans, the magical fruit. The more you eat, the more you toot.” Some others may know it as “Beans, beans, they’re good for your heart. The more you eat the more you fart.” However, some of you may not know this part of it that I have learned from my brother. “The more you eat, the more you feel, so eat your beans at every meal!”
Beans truly are an interesting vegetable. They grow on stalks. They’re the seeds in the pods of those stalks and come from the flower on the stalks, like how fruit come from flowers. The stalks need to be supported on a trelace because they’re that kind of plant.
There are many kinds of beans. Garbanzo beans, pinto beans, green beans, lima beans, kidney beans, black beans, red beans, butter beans, and many other kinds of beans.
Speaking of butter beans, there was this security dude at my school who was a rather hefty man and his name was Chris, but all the kids called him Butterbean. Even though it was mean, it was still hilarious! And then last year after summer (or this year, I can’t remember) when we all came back he was thin. Obviously he got some kind of surgery. Now he doesn’t work at our school anymore. I don’t know where he went.
And that, my children, is why you should never eat asparagus.
