Amaroq felt pretty good about himself.
He was getting stronger, he just knew it. Each day, each week, he could run longer, push aside bigger logs. He still wasn't as fast as his siblings, but he was getting a little faster too. Giving a little self-satisfied flick of his tail and a toss of his head he sped up from a walk into a trot, admiring how his white socks moved in sync.

The little filly had traveled far away from her daddy this time. She had been wanting to leave, and he gave her the option.. Actually, he was a wanderer himself, and he never sat in one place long, and she 'sposed he knew what she went through then.
Naina shook her head, letting her little braid fly. How she wished she was all grown. Then she could beat her daddy in a race.. Then she could get away from anyone, and most would leave her alone. Smiling, she pounced a butterfly.

A rustle of grass sent Amaroq's eyes and ears scanning for the source. As they laid upon the cause, the charcoal-grey colt let out a loud, disbelieving snort. It was a girl...and not just that, it was a girl with some sort of odd...thing...on her.
He paused, shaking his head with another snort as he pawed at the grass. Icy blue eyes kept staring at this oddity, trying to make sense of it. There were girls in his herd, sure. Mom, Miri, Akila. He knew other girls too. But none of them had weird things on them. Not knowing what the thing on this filly was irritated him, but so did asking questions. So he just looked, trying to give off an air of coolness.
This attempt wasn't very successful, given that his ears were pricked and he was staring. But he tried anyways.
