Okay here's the thing, I've pretty much just gotten the oppertunity for my dream job. It's a game store, not like EBgames though, one of those awesome local gamestores that have everything from NES, yo Sega Saturn, to imported japanese games (they even just got the complete Earthbound collection with manual, box and player's guide O_O)
The pay is better than my current job, the oppurtunities are greater as well. But, here's the thing.....I've never actually quit a job before. gonk I'm not saying that I've been fired, but I'm still at the first true job I've had, washing dishes at the back of a local resturant.
I know the choice seems obvious, but let me add this, the people there have always been nice to me and enjoy having me around. When I told my boss about my interview, he actually looked a bit worried that I could be leaving, like sad almost.
So now I'm scared to quit, because I feel like I'd be betraying my current boss somehow. What the hell do I do? gonk I need help here people!

If you boss really cared he would understand you leaving to work at the game store. It's a job you'd enjoy doing, you get payed better, and get an employee discount. Sure, he'd be losing an employee he likes, but he should understand.

2 weeks notice is the way to go. Tell them you've found a better job, and you'll stay with them for 2 more weeks before moving on. It's the standard thing to do. For teenagers though, it's actually more impressive... <__<
Out of the 3 of us that quit my last job, I was the only one that put in 2 weeks notice. My other two friends decided together one day that they were done. They called in and said "We quit". Our boss was so pissed. lol

They're called "Voluntary Termination Forms" for a reason.

That's funny. I sort of felt the same way when I quit my job, and I hated working at Target. But I said it was for "school reasons," but mostly because my parents thought I would study more or something. I got a form for Barnes & Noble tonight. I think a book store is a better branch of retail. Plus, I picked up a bit of Arthur C. Clarke while I was there.
I dunno what to tell you, Turbo. Just say you are terminating your position and the rest of the pieces will fall into place. It's a shame, but it's your opportunity.

Thanks you guys, I feel better now. I hope my current confidence stays when I tell my boss I'm quitting.

Be sure to get the job at the new place before you quit your current one.
