Being grown up wasn't easy for the young stallion. His mother was still so protective over him and his siblings it wasn't even funny. Though it only seemed like they had just come out of their baskets.
Yiska had spent most of his day lounging near the river close to where his family had been living for most of his life. The bright sun warming his dark coat as his curly tail flopped against the ground he lay upon.
Occasionally he'd lean forward and gaze at his own reflection in the cool waters of the river. He looked so bulky and felt so awkward now that he was a young adult. His thoughts soon moved on to all the others that he had met as a foal. Were they grown as well? What about Raum? He had to be grown up by now too. Perhaps later he'd go insearch of his childhood friend, just to catch up on things.
Giving a small sigh, Yiska flopped his head back so that he was laying on his side. Eyes closed as he let the warm sunlight beat against his body. It was a lazy day, or so it seemed.

Takoda sighed and wandered about. She had met a few others but none ever stayed, none she could call a friend. Her father was the only stable figure in her life and sometimes she wondered if something was wrong with her? Was she doomed to wander these lands alone until she grew old.
the amre however found delight in the nature around her and she enjoyed the warm sun shining on her back. She found her throat was a bit dry and a drink seemed to be in order. Sniffing at the air she scented a river or stream nearby and set out at a trot towards it.
She came out into the open area and spotted the river ahead. As she approached however, she noticed a large black stallion laying by the water witht he oddest green markings on his front legs and rump, a white face, and a two tone mane and tail. Was he sleeping? or was something wrong? She didn't want to disturb the stallion and he seemed to have no injuries so she decided he was more then likely basking in the sun.
Moving forward she came to the riverbank a few feet from the stallion and dipped her head into the cool waters, refreshing herself and quenching her thirst.

The sound of hoof beats nearby made Yiska's ears twitch forward, but he really didn't pay much attention to them at the time. His eyes were still clenched shut as he lay there, his tail giving a few lazy flicks back and forth.
But as soon as the hoof beats got closer, his eyes snapped open and he quickly rolled onto his belly. His head twisting around to see who had come nearby. Eyes settling upon the winged mare who had to him it seemed come out of no where. Of course, he realized then that he hadn't really been paying much attention to his surroundings.
Yiska felt odd. Still getting used to his adult size was taking a bit longer than he had thought it would. Had the mare seen him there as he lulled in the sun? He must of had looked odd and that made the stallion a bit nervous. Ever since he was a foal, the girls always seemed odd to him and for one of them to see him bumbling about felt a bit worse than getting your head stuck in a hole in a tree.
Swallowing a large lump in his throat, he clambered to his hooves. Shaking off any leaves or dirt that clung to his body. His father always told him that appearances were everything and he should be proud of how he looked. But right now that wasn't the case. A small knot formed in his stomach as he stood there. But he tried to put off an air of confidance as he moved closer to the water and lowered his head to drink. Pieces of his mane falling forward to cover his white face.

Takoda drank deeply and watched as the stallion seemed to flick his tail as if laying contently, bathing in the sunlight. But his sudden movements caught her attention and so she smiled as she raised her muzzle from the water. "Hello there, I hope I didn't scare or disturb you." She took a few steps towards the stallion who was now on his belly. "Enjoying the sun yes? I love to bask in the sun myself on warm afternoons. Its rays feel so warm and soothing."
She tilted her head as the stallion remained silent and even looked a bit nervous....she must have startled him. She watched as he quickly got to his feet and shook himself off. She smiled in her usual friendly manner, swishing her long tail back and forth, watching as he too took a drink. "My name is Takoda. Would the dark stranger by6 chance have a name?" She grinned and decided to wait for him to speak when he felt more comfortable. Lowering her head she grabbed a mouthful of grass and chewed thoughtfully as she watched him.

Light blue eyes watched the mare for a second before he lifted his head, licking the water around his lips away with his tounge. "No. You didn't disturb me. I was just thinking about how lazy it seemed today. The sun is quite nice...as long as you don't stay in it too long."
He gave another quick flick of his curly hair as his large hooves fidgeted slightly as he tried to gain a more composed stance. Small curls from his mane fell into his eyes as he tried to blow a breath of air to move them away. "It's nice to meet you Takoda. My name is Yiska." Yiska watched as she took a mouthful of grass. Ok, just stay calm. It's just a girl, he told himself. But from the time he was a foal, him and Raum had come to the conclusion that girls had some strange disease. Well, except maybe his sister. But from what he had experianced from watching they all seemed to be boy crazy for some odd reason. And that in itself made him a bit nervous around them.

Takoda smiled as the stallion finally spoke and she giggled at his comment. "But sometimes its nice to have a lazy day, doing nothing but basking in the sun. " She had inherited her mother's eyes, a sky blue and dancing with laughter.
She chuckled softly to herself as she watched his nervous compusure, although he tried to seem confident and proud. You'd think he had never been around a mare before with how nervous he was. "Well Yiska, its my pleasure to meet you. I've met many others but generally they don't tend to stick around. I suppose they are wanderers at heart like myself. " She moved a bit closer, wondering how he would react to that.
She tossed her long black mane so it was out of her face and drapping off to one side. "So Yiska, what is it you like to do then? I take it you must be from around here. Perhaps with family nearby? My father lives over by the lake so I usually go visit him there. I haven't really seen my mother or brother and sister in a long time. I suppose they could never really stay in one place. " she missed them though. She mieed the whole family feeling, but at least she had her father.
She lowered her head to take another mouthful of grass, but this time she playfully blew the blades at Yiska and giggled softly. It was a game her father and her had played all the time as she grew up and they still played it. She wasn;t sure what the point was but it was fun nonetheless.

"I suppose. Though it can get a bit boring after a while." He looked upwards thoughtfully for a moment before looking back at her, blowing another puff of air to clear the curls out of his eyes. Damn mane. Sometimes it was so annoying.
As she moved closer, he tried to keep himself planted in one spot instead of moving away. That might be rude or something. His body shifted uncomfortably as he gave his tail a few nervous flicks side to side. "I haven't really met anyone else really. I mean...there are a few that I've met but that was when I was younger."
A flick of the ear and a quick gaze around the area just to make sure no one was watching. If his brother saw him like this there would be no end to it, he was sure of that. "I dunno. I spend most of my time around here. My parents don't live too far away from here and my brother stays with them most of the time. Though my sister wanders. We all pretty much stay near my mom and dad." Now he was rambling.
Yiska blinked as she blew the blades of grass towards him. His tail twitched as did an ear but he stood his ground. A curious look came across his white face as he raised a single eyebrow. Ok? Was this some other weird thing girls did?

Takoda nodded in agreement. "I suppose thats true but it tends to be alot more fun when you have someone to talk to. " She watched as he still tried blowing the mane from in his eyes and noticed as his feet moved nervously as well as the swishing tail. Did she really make him feel like that? Whatever could cause a stallion to be nervous around a mare? This was indeed interesting but also confusing.
"I've met most as an adult although it seemed to be one time meetings. No one really stuck around as a friend. "She tried to smile although it was a asaddening thought. "Its ok though. I like to meet new soquilis. It kinda makes life a bit more interesting I think. " She stayed put where she was, deciding she was close enough to him. If he was getting nervous, then she did not want to make him feel uncomfortable by getting closer.
"ahhh well thats a nice thing though. I wish my family had stayed close like yours has. You sure are lucky to have that. Hold onto it." She flexed her wings a bit. They needed a little bit of stretching.
An amused grin however crossed her face as he raised an eyebrow at her. Perhaps he did not know this game? She chuckled softly. "I take it you never played that game as a foal? My father used to play it with my siblings and I. I'm not sure what the point was but its alot of fun..we kinda just blow grass at each other, covering our manes and coats." She grinned impishly and maybe a bit sheepish in expression, " Its rather silly but it can be fun when the other is running away. Kinda like tag but with grass blades. "
She took a few steps to the side and gave him a playful look, as if daring him to try and catch her. "If you're up to having some fun, lets see if you can catch me with the grass blades!"

"And sometimes you just don't want to talk to anyone and be by yourself. Though it really only gets like that if you're around others a lot I would suppose. Sometimes I just need a bit of time to myself. But...I haven't seen much of my siblings today so it's just been pretty slow as I said." And now he was repeating himself. Better just move on and stop sticking with that.
He gave a slight nod of his head. "Well, I guess it just means you know quite a few others then. Even if you don't know them too well, you can at least talk with them more later on if you ever come across them." His mind wandered back to Raum. He really did need to go find his friend sometime soon. Catch up with him maybe.
"Yea. It's ok having family around sometimes. But my mom's a bit over protective and my dad...well...he's one of those kinds of stallions that has a pretty big ego. Not to mention the fact that he likes showing us off for some strange reason." His lips puckered slightly as they shifted to the side a bit to scrunch up the corner of his mouth.
As she moved away and gave him that playful look, his eyebrow raised again. He had never played that kind of game before. Most of the games were usually tag or hide and go seek that he remembered. "Hmmm..." Looking down at the grass, he gave a shrug before looking back at her and giving a small smirk. He had played games before with a filly but how would his bigger body work to move as quickly as he could when smaller? Guess he'd just have to figure it out sooner or later.

Takoda pranced in place as she listened to him speak, waiting to see if he would play a game with her. "I suppose being around others too much can be a bother at times so I would understand the need for some time alone, although I think I spend too much time alone."
She flexed her wings some more as she loosened up her muscles. She tossed her head a few times, mischief twinkling in her skye blue eyes. "I would rather have one good friend to spend time with though then know dozens of others. Perhaps its a perspective or preference but its nice to have someone constant in one's life."
She watched the stallion look form her to the grass and back again. And then the smirk. So was he going to play or just stand there? She grabbed another mouthful and darted forwards quickly, blowing the blades into his mane and then cantering a few feet off before whirling around and standing there, waiting for him to chase her.

Yiska raised a curious eyebrow at the mare and tilted his head. "Why do you think that?" His eyebrows furrowed slightly in pondering. Did he himself spend too much time alone? It didn't seem that way. Perhaps some days he met more Soquili then others and other days very few, but he figured he had a decent balance of time alone and meeting others. Though only few who he could call true friends.
"I suppose. It is nice to have a few true friends really. As you'd never know if those who weren't that close to you would be there for you when you needed them." Eyeing the grass again, his smirk deepened a bit.
As she blew the grass blades into his mane, he shook his head, trying to keep the thin grass from sticking into his curls. Giving a quick flick of his tail, he lent his head down and scooped up a mouthful of grass before leaping towards her.
