"Dark Light" was mixed at New York's Electric Lady studios with producer Tim Palmer (David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne). Frontman Ville Valo said the band was inspired by the works of film composer Angelo Badalamenti. "Our approach on 'Dark Light' was to work on key words to make the music more cinematic, epic, and close to the listeners," he told Billboard.com.

The new CD is due out 9/26 internationally and 9/27 in the US

Oooh. Ville said that 'Dark Light' will be their Fifth album, I am sure, unless And Love Said No was something else, it is their Sixth???

And Love Said No was more of a "Greatest Hits", I think Ville means that this is their 5th original album.

I was wondering if anybody knew if the special addition version of the cd that is only available from the website came out the same date or if you got it earlier or something. Because I know you can order it now but I was wondering when it will come and if you have to wait all the way till its official release date. Does anybody know?

The special limited edition version of Dark Light can be purchased through Heartagram.com. If you can't, then you have to wait for the regular and offical release of the CD in September. I'm not sure when the cd actually gets delivered to your house if you pre-order it though. sad

The name 'Dark Light' disapoints me a little, the other albums have far more creative names.

Why should it dissapoint you? I mean yeah, Dark Light sounds a lil' too mundane, but when you think how Ville said the Light part comes from his last name which means light in Finnish and then you add the meaning of the heartagram, it's a perfect title for this album.

Why should it dissapoint you? I mean yeah, Dark Light sounds a lil' too mundane, but when you think how Ville said the Light part comes from his last name which means light in Finnish and then you add the meaning of the heartagram, it's a perfect title for this album.

you certindly know your stuff, i dident even tink o that, but the heartagram dosent really represent dark so mutch its a play on the pentagram with the heart added to show the love parts of him it is in some ways a visual oxymoron as it shows love and evil together, or at least thats how i see it
