A bright red form padded through grass that was fast becoming familiar. A body bowed with the weight of its past was slowly straightening, the steps taking on more strength.
Kiuma wasn't happy, not by any stretch of the imagination, but it felt good to be home. Her sons must have grown so much while she was away... she was eager to find them and some how make up for missing half their lives. Nothing in her own life seemed to have gone right... she could atleast try to make it up to her children.
Red eyes flickered, sweeping the grass for any movement. There was a gnawing hunger in her belly, and despite her hurry to get to Priderock, Kiuma wasn't against stopping for a bite to eat. That thought brought on another though... one of the adolescent that was following in her path. Where had Baala gotten to? If she caught some prey, she wanted to share it with the young lioness. Being on her own had left her thin and ragged, but since joining Kiuma, the older lioness had made sure to provide as much food as the younger one would take.

Tiah was resting beside a large rock; her form lay coiled into a small circle like shape as she rested her eyes from the sun. She was in no shape to move about; being heavy with cubs and all... and apart of her didn’t even want to move. She felt her bones itch every time she thought about the tiny lives inside of her belly. She ached all over.
They were not her mate’s offspring, they were alien and unwanted, not a gift but a sad reminder of another male’s anger and will power to seek revenge. She hated it; she hated disliking her own cubs... but apart of her did. It wasn’t the fault of the life within her... no, but the male that did this to her. She hated the father.
Would she be able to love the outcome though- she pondered as she opened one large green eye, gazing at the golden grass before her. The scent of another passed her nose though as a bright red colored pierced her sight. In slight wander the orange lioness stood up slowly and gazed about, keeping herself still long enough to get a good look at the new comer.
“Hello?”

Rounded ears twitched at the sound of a voice nearby, and red eyes turned to find the source. Who was it...?
She blinked in suprise as her eyes swept the paler form, her head tilting. She'd never seen that lioness before... must be one of the new ones to come to the pridelands. She sighed as she rolled her shoulders, putting on a polite face for what must be a fellow pridemember. "Hello." She said simply, her voice as neutral as it got for her. "Who are you?" Yeah... cut straight to the piercing questions...
Her red eyes scanned the lioness again, taking in the signs of pregnancy and the strange familiarity. How she knew this lioness... she didn't really know. Just something about her touched something in Kiuma, making her wonder.

“I am Tiah.”
She replied without any hesitation. She must have been asked that many times, no one ever knew who she was. Tiah spent a lot of time alone. Her green eyes narrowed as she gazed at the red lioness for a moment. Her colors were very alluring and reminded her of stories her mother once told her about her father. He was a red color too, with a dark mane.
“And you are?”
She questioned back with a soft smile, though it was forced it wasn’t rude. She was not in a place to be rude and in her current condition she didn’t want to start anything. She just wanted to fade away.

Kiuma's head lifted as she studied the other lioness, eyes narrowing slightly. Green eyes... the sight made her heart ache, but she pushed it down. There was no time for tears over him, and there never would be. Better to concentrate on the here and now than on things she couldn't change.
"Tiah? That tells me your name, but not who you are. My name is Kiuma, daughter of Sarabi and Mufasa. I find it odd that someone I've never seen before is in my homeland... I certainly hope my sister hasn't been giving the rogues free reign in my absence..." The words and manner were caustic and challenging, but she would be hard put to make them anything else. It was her nature, especially around those she considered beneith her, namely rogues.
"I don't suppose the father of those cubs is a Pridelander... are you looking for sanctuary untill the birth then?" Reminded her, again, of coming home with a full belly herself, though she'd been ready to drop any moment by that time. Cubs... sweet little bundles by her side, and a large, protective white form with a green gaze that had held what she'd stupidly taken for love... Fool. Her eyes hardened, her stance unconciously becoming threatening.

“Tiah, daughter of Maylea and…Taka.”
Tiah spoke with regret laced in her tone. It had been ages… not many had asked her about her mother or father before, or implied to know.
“I have lived here for a while now, actually. I returned from my travels not too long ago; this was the home to my father and mother, so I came back to find my roots again, and my half brother.”
She spoke dully, she didn’t feel any kind of worry as the lioness before her seemed to grow in irritability, if anything the female could only attack her and rid her of the life she carried, rid her of this curse. Cubs. Her cubs.
“Sarabi and Mufasa…”
Tiah spoke out softly, repeating the words the red lioness had spoken before. It hit her then that she knew the names, she knew the father’s name… but she couldn’t recall from where. A story perhaps. She knew he was the late king, but that was all.
“The father? I don’t know he got what he wanted and left me here with this pain inside my stomach.”
She snarled at bit at herself, a bitter taste grew in her mouth as she gazed down at her paws for a moment.
“My mate doesn’t know.”

Kiuma lifted her head and narrowed her eyes, rounded ears pressing back an suspicious thought.
"Taka? Sounds like a fairly common name..." Not really, was her thought, but she didn't say it. "Did you find your 'roots' and your half brother then? Was he a pridemember, or a rogue like you?" Curious to see this lioness here, heavy with cubs yet lacking any sort of joy a new mother normally has.
Red eyes studied her, powerful paws kneeding the soil absently. Ah, that last part was a suprise... "You have cubs by a male not your mate?" Her voice had dropped some, taking on a certain edge that was both brittle and sharp.
"Lousy males... they are good for nothing but making cubs, and they aren't always that skilled at that either. Never put your trust fully in them, nor depend on them for anything you can't get yourself." She huffed, speaking from her own expierience. Males had proven themselfs as little better than the prey she hunted down, and a lot less useful too, since you couldn't eat them.
