Techie L closed the door to the playroom quickly behind her and at once glanced up at the clock. Good, she was still on time. Thanks to a small run-in and a bowl of soup, she had nearly forgotten to bring the file labeled GOLDFUR while transporting the boy who was the subject of said file into the playroom. Well, she hadn't actually been late, so that was that. L seated herself on a bench to wait for the prospective mentor while giving Caleb an opportunity to get acclimated to his surroundings.

Caleb did a quick check of the room for any and all exits. Though he was giving up on the possiblity of ever escaping from this prison, he did have the chance to end up with an unsuspecting parent and run away from there. So it was back to his orphanage techniques.
Down the hallway walked the two prospective parents, Reese being held firmly between the two men. It had been rather vague on who should come and if they could bring Reese along or not, but the boy would have to meet the kid who could be his brother eventually.
Kaden glanced at his watch before looking at Riordan. The second man took a firm hold upon Reese's hand while Kaden knocked lightly on the door and poked his head in to make sure they were in the right place.

Technician L stood up quickly. Keeping a wary eye on Caleb (there was a detailed account of each one of his previous escape attempts in that file after all), she greeted the man at the door.
"Mr. Riordan Briggs?" she looked puzzled for a moment and rechecked the smaller file attatched her her clipboard. Nope, that didn't look like him. A quick turn to the next page and she recognized his likeness in another photograph. "Oh, Mr. Kaden Williams." She smiled and opened the door wider, stepping out of the way to admit him. Only then did she notice the two people standing behind him. "You must be Mr. Briggs." she remarked somwhat belatedly, "And.." -she checked the file again "Reese."
She held out a thick file labeled GOLDFUR for him to take, still looking over her shoulder once in a while to keep track of Caleb. "This is yours, I suggest you read it slowly and thoroughly after today's visit. He answers to the name of Caleb."

Kaden started to shake his head at the tech's question, but she soon corrected herself so he didn't have to worry. He stepped on into the room as she opened the door wider, glancing back at Riordan as the other man carefully guided Reese into the room, maintaining a firm grip on the Magikarp boy's hand. Only when the door was firmly shut was Reese released from the grasp of his father.
Kaden took the thick file, opening it to glance at the pages inside. "Thank you." He told the lady, then looked over to where Caleb was carefully advancing towards them.
The door was closed, but the boy was curious about the three that had just entered. All of the other times it had just been one person that came in. But this time there were three of them. And they brought another kid along. Caleb was confused. What was going on?
Riordan took a slow step towards Caleb, which caused the boy to halt. The man knelt to be more at the boy's level. "Hello, Caleb."
Reese clung tightly to Kaden's leg, unsure of this other boy. Was this the one that was going to invade his home and take over his family? He didn't want what Uncle had called a brother. He just wanted Daddy and Uncle.
Caleb remained where he was, his eyes flicking over to the door before settling on Reese. He quickly dashed past Riordan and halted beside Reese, which caused the pokemon boy to jump in surprise. Caleb reached out to touch Reese's fins.
"Noah! Noah tut-ch!" Reese swatted Caleb's hand away, frowning at the boy.
Kaden gently rested one hand on Reese's head. "Reese... be nice to Caleb."
Caleb, however, was surprised at the boy's reaction. "You talk funny," he commented.

In truth, Techie L hadn’t been expecting the whole family to come along until the second visit, provided that there was a second visit. It was usually easier on the kids because most of them already had pretty severe abandonment issues. She didn’t want them to feel threatened or potentially displaced by the presence of other family members. GOLDFUR, however, didn’t seem to have shown any signs of this yet, though, so she supposed it was all right.
Following Caleb’s first interaction with Reese, she rapidly jotted something down on her clipboard and retreated back to her chair to observe.

Reese's frown deepened at Caleb's comment. Was this boy making fun of him? "Doo noh-tuh! He crossed his arms and started to pout.
Riordan didn't like where this was heading. What could he do to distract Caleb? Perhaps there were some toys in here that the boy would be interested in? Maybe something that was more interesting than Reese?
Caleb, however, was starting to lose interest in this strange boy. "Do too," he said before looking around once again, confused about something. "Where's your mommy?"
It was now Reese's turn to look confused. "Mah... me? Noh Mah... me. Ha-vuh Dah... dee," here the boy pointed to Riordan, "an' Unh... cule." Now Reese pointed to Kaden, who blushed just a bit.
Caleb decided to think this over for a few long moments. Which seemed plenty long enough for him to be thinking. He gave a shrug and turned his attention towards Riordan, running over to his side. "What's that?" He asked, poking the wristwatch on the man's arm.
Kaden gave a mental groan. Another one with a short attention span? Well, at least he seemed bright.

She jotted down a few more notes, then her head snapped up. L couldn't remember whether or not she had remembered to lock the door. It seemed like she had, but she wasn't 100% sure. Normally, she didn't bother. It made it easier to get things and people in and out of the room, but normally, Handler Candidates didn't try to bolt. She waited until Caleb seemed to have his attention on Riordan's watch and made her way slowly over to the door, trying not to attract his attention, just in case she had left it unlocked.

Luckily for L, Caleb didn't possess the enhanced hearing of a canine. And he was fascinated by this ticking thing on Riordan's wrist, so he didn't notice her moving towards the door.
Riordan smiled at the boy. "A watch. It shows the time."
"Time?" The boy had no idea what that meant, but shrugged it off. Apparently something that was important to him. He scurried over towards the last family member, gazing up at Kaden for a moment before spotting the man's sunglasses.
Fascinated, Caleb jumped up and started to climb up Kaden to reach them. The man was startled by this sudden movement and Reese reached up to tug on Caleb's tail. "Noh clu-eye..... me-ing Un-cul!" He scolded.
Caleb paused to look down at Reese and Kaden reached up to take the sunglass from the top of his head and held them out to the boy. "If you want to look at them, you just have to ask."

L managed to get to the door and rattled the handle quietly. She breathed a sigh of releif as it resisted her. Good, she had remembered to lock it after all. She stole back to her clipboard, mildly amused at what had just transpired, and jotted down another few sentances mentioning Kaden’s patience with touchie-grabby-ness, which was necessary, considering Caleb’s enhanced agility. Though he rarely got it right on the first try, it looked like Technician R had made a good choice this time.

Kaden had learned to be extremely patient, seeing how he homeschooled Reese. But the man was looking at Caleb. "Can you say 'May I please look at your sunglasses?'"
Caleb grinned back at Kaden. "Yeah." He reached out to grab the sunglasses, but Kaden maintained his firm grip and stern gaze until finally Caleb mumbled "Can I look at them?" A short pause. "Please?"
Smiling, Kaden let go. "Yes, you may. Could you please get down?"
"Okay..." Caleb muttered, having gotten what he had been going for. He opened the sunglasses and stuck them on his face. "Whoa!" He pulled them off and stared at them. "Cool!"
Kaden held out his hand. "May I have my sunglasses back please?" Caleb put them on again and looked up at Kaden for a moment. Then took them off and plopped them into Kaden's hand.
"Thank you," the man said, placing his sunglasses back upon the top of his head.
Caleb ran around the group a couple of times, apparently having some built-up energy that he had to burn off. His tail was wagging so fast it was almost a blur.

The visit seemed to be going well enough, but Caleb tended to be a pretty likeable kid in general, in the opinion of the technicians in her department at least. She scribbled down a few more things making note of Caleb's excitability. As according to protocol, she would give them an hour, or until Caleb lost interest. Technician L checked her watch. 10 minutes had passed.

Reese frowned at the other boy's energy and clung tightly to Kaden's pants. He looked up at the man. "Ca' whee goh nah...wuh?"
Kaden stroked the boy's hair. "Not yet, Reese. We haven't been here for all that long yet." The magikarp boy frowned, then looked around the room to see if there were any toys to play with. This was boring.
Riordan smiled at Caleb as the boy came to a halt, panting a bit. The boy was starting to get tired of acting nice and cute. Not that he wasn't usually, but he was being overly so in hopes of getting out of this place. He wanted to go outside and play. Or, more likely, run off, but just go outside. Inside wasn't good. There were walls.
"Go outside?" Caleb asked Riordan, whose smile fell a bit. He wasn't sure if they could go outside.
"Maybe later... we should probably stay inside right now..." The man answered.

((You can make up whatever toys you like in the playroom as long as they're age appropriate.))
Seeing that the meeting was going well enough, Techie L dug a raquet ball out of her pocket and tossed it gently in Caleb's direction. "We'll play outside later, okay?" in a secure enclosure to keep you from trying to run away again. she added mentally. She checked her watch again. 15 minutes had passed.

Caleb frowned, but cheered up as the ball was tossed towards him. He managed to catch it, then threw it at Kaden. The man managed to catch the ball and carefully bounced it to Riordan. 'Dan caught onto the hint and bounced it to Caleb, who happily caught it and threw it back at Riordan.
Reese, meanwhile, had found some cars to play with and was happily making them race on the floor while his parents and Caleb continued to play ball with Caleb happily chasing after any missed ball.

Techie L jotted down something barely legible involving the words 'patience' and 'attention' as she watched the small family. Reese seemed to be occupied by himself, an indicator that he was secure enough to adjust to Caleb's prescence..or if they needed to, Caleb could always continue living at Faction S as long as one of the adults visited often to interact with him. She pondered the nostalgic feeling for a few moments, then checked her watch again. 45 minutes had passed.
