*The rain fell, it fell hard that day everything and everyone that had a brain in their head would have sought shelter from the life giving rains that pelted the ground with the brutality of the gods above. Puddles formed and hid themselves amongst the clumps of grass that fought to remain upright against the rains. One solemn soul remained out in the wet and muck, her white tuft hooves growing even more muddy with every step she took, not minding it at all. White and black patched wings fluttered at her sides as she stopped and looked blinking up at the skies, feeling the rain falling upon her face, her mane clung to her neck as her bangs dropped annoyingly into her rust colored eyes.*
"Rain all you like, punish me for not flying. I don't care!" The young Jala shouted toward the cloud covered skies as if it mattered. "I don't care." She muttered again looking back toward the soggy ground beneath her hooves.
*Eyes looking about the open area she wondered if anyone else was out in the rain. If anyone else was walking in the mud and having a blast like she was, not. It was down tight miserable, but it fit her current mood, she hadn't seen anyone else for a long time and she wasn't really liking it, it was too quite, too dull, too everything for one mind to handle. She wondered if just standing there would make everything better... But that was something she didn't really wish to try as she sunk into the water logged ground every moment she stood idle.*
"Have to keep moving." She muttered to herself walking forward again, her wings flapping a moment at her sides before folding again. "I wonder if there IS anyone out here..." the pondered leaving the end open as if someone were going to answer her.

A sigh escaped slightly parted lips as the stallion glowered beneath the shelter of a fruitless tree. Sky hued orbs stared desperately upward, searching for even the smallest hints of blue. Shifting his weight he debated within his mind whether or not to venture out. Close by shouting muffled the sounds of rain drops drenching everything insight. Tossing his head up in slight surprise he searches for the source of the disturbance.
Not too far away a jala mare argued with an unseen force. Chuckling to himself he ruffled his feathered bird limbs and stepped out into the rain. His white pelt now soaked gave off a pinkish hue from the skin beneath as he made his way toward the mare. Careful steps moved him quietly through the waterlogged field. Coming up behind her, he clears his throat loud enough to be heard.
"Is there anyone you want me to beat up for you? It seems from all the shouting I heard that your having some troubles." Lips curved in a slight grin as he shifted to stand before the mare. Sky hue orbs gazed at her with curiousty from behind a matte forelock.

*White ears twisted back at the sound of the ground squishing under the hooves of another as apparently someone had heard her shouting and self arguments. She didn't turn around as the squishing came closer and the sound of another speaking behind her made her stop in her tracks once more. This time her black and white colored face turned toward the stallion that came up beside her. She said nothing at first, but watched him with rust colored eyes as her own white bangs threatened to blind her.*
"No, there's no one else besides the skies that seem to punish me for not being up there." She said turning her gaze toward the skies above. "I hope my self arguments didn't drag you out into this mess and muck." she gigged lightly, "Also my name's Aldora."
*Pawing at the mud beneath her hooves she watched the black and white stallion for a moment, wondering of his intentions of coming out into the rain. Was it because of her shouting? Or was it something else, Aldora shook her head freeing her mind from the thoughts that clouded it. A shivery sigh escaped her as the cold had started to sink into her hard exterior, her wings fluffing out a little at her sides in an attempt to warm her back up a little.*

Shifting his weight as one leg threatened to relieve him of his current upright position as the rain turned the ground to slippery muck. Cocking his head to the left he met the mare's gaze with that of his own.
"Quite frankly it was your shouting that caused me to leave my dry place of solitude." Tossing his head his now soaked mane flopped lifelessly on his neck. Moving, he began to circle her. Heavy limbs stepping carefully on the slick terrian. "I thought perhaps a fair maiden was in trouble." Halting before her once more he somewhat shrugs. "But now that I am wet, I see no reason to return to my past place of rest." Sky hued eyes glow with amusement as he watches the mare momentarily. In a quick snap of his head he recalls he hadn't mentioned his name. "I am Aiden."

*A laugh erupted from her throat as she listened to Aiden speak of her being the one that dragged him from his shelter. Her wings fanning out some she watched him the best she could as he walked around her. Her short tail twitched like a soaking wet flag in the wind, this was amusing to her mind. What really took the cake was him thinking she was a damsel in distress from all her shouting to the skies above.*
"One could say that, 'Sir' Aiden" She giggled thinking back to stories she had heard from the human camps, of knights and stuff. "I seem to be in trouble with the skies that know not to stop drenching me for not flying in a while."
*Shaking her head the termer ran down her spine, shaking off a large amount of water from her coat, her wings beating a couple of times to shake what water from them she could. The last thing to move was her stubby tail that sounded much like a whip or wet towel. Her mane stuck in places along her neck that was most annoying.*
"But I refuse to give into their wants for me to soar again, as I'm keeping all four hooves upon the ground." She snorted stomping a muddy hoof into a puddle splashing the water about some. "Lightening could hit me and I won't budge."
*Speaking of lightening, as the rain still poured a wind came up and blew across the field, followed by a loud crack of thunder that shook the ground. Wings opening at each side, Aldora looked up at the sky as lightening started to snake its way through the clouds. Like great serpents they slithered hissing at each other before clashing sending one energy serpent to the ground below. Jumping, Aldora looked more scared of the lightening then one would think an adult Jala would be.*
"Aiden, shelter sounds good to my mind, what do you think?" she asked looking a bit wild eyed as she soon looked around for somewhere to at the very least lay without drowning.

Tensing his body Aiden stood proudly, ebon and ivory wings flare out half opened. Arching his neck, his heavy mane stuck strong against it. Blue orbs gazed at the mare playfully.
"Thats right, Sir Aiden. Fighter of the skies and protector of innocent maidens."
Bobbing his head he lifts a mud laidened hoof and paws the ground. Done with his dramatic episode he shifts his wings into a confortable position on his back. His gaze shifts to the skies above and then back to the mare.
"Are you saying you are the cause for this rain? What have the skies done to thee that you refuse to take flight?"
Cocking his head to the left he eyes her with curiousity, never before had he met anyone that prefered not to fly. It was understandable under these current weather conditions, but why have wings and deny them of the free winds above. Lips curve in bemusement at Aldora's youthful reaction to the lightning.
"Fear not dear Aldora, I will not allow the skies to do you harm for not flying. But I shall not follow you to shelter til you answer my questions about your dislike for flight.

*Aldora had to laugh to herself as she watched him take a heroic stand before her as she had called him, 'sir'. Still a little shaky from the lightening from over head she tried not to show her amusement that danced in her eyes. Turning her rump to the side as the ground where she had been standing was dented with deep ridges and marks. Her head hung a little as she thought back to someone else she had met a long time ago...*
"Lets just say that someone kinda made me guilty of flying because of some promise he had made. It made me start thinking that maybe there was a life that didn't have to do with the skies?" she said asking in question.
*eyes looking back at the skies, her hide shivering from the cold of walking in the rain so long was starting to skin in. Her eyes narrowed against the sting of the rain to her eyes and her ears falling back against her head as to not let anymore water drop inside. Wings fluffing out against her sides she turned away from Aiden as it he weren't going to be of any help.*
"Happy now? I regret restricting myself to solid ground, but I get sick out here it won't matter." She shivered looking back as her bangs stuck to her eyelid in such a way it kept the eye closed. "So we going to get out of this weather or not? I would like to see the sun rise again."

A quiet calm fell over the stallion as words danced uselessly on his tounge. Lobes flicker as a confict of interests came into play. Though his personality came off as sarcastic and playful, he knew this was no time for that. Sky blue orbs gaze at the troubled mare, upset at himself for bringing back a troubled memory. Outstretching his wing closest to her he moves closer, using his wing to cover some of her back.
"I am sorry for bringing up a troubling memory. You answered my questions, and as my word goes, let us retreat to a sheltering tree or cave."
Tossing his head to the side he fights with his forelock, to keep the mare within his sights. Shifting his weight back to all for of his limbs he makes sure to cover the mare the best he could without intruding on her personal space. Every now and then his muscles twitched at the light tickling touch of a determine rain drop. The rain had not done anything but turn his white pelt an off pink hue, but as he observed the mare he could see it was affecting her quite differently. Nudging her neck softly with his muzzle he whickers in reassurance before his streak of gentleness died. Blue orbs gain back their youthful play as a decent comment slides off his lips.
"Anyway, I do not want to be the one to blame for if your health deterates."

*Shaking the water from her hide as if trying to rid herself of it she snorted watching him as he tried to cover her back with his own wing. Rust colored eyes watched him as she started forward, not quite trusting this one, even after the sputter that had happened not more then a few moments ago. Only brought back to her senses as another snake of lightening struck the ground just off to her side. Leaping, almost, to the side she brought herself closer to Aiden to where she could feel his warmth against her cold side. It was almost a comfort, it would have been better if the rain would stop to show the time of day.*
"So you live around here?" she asked trying to get her mind off of other... Conflicting thoughts. "I live further away, where it's much warmer."

Pulling his head back in alarm as she leaped closer to him in reply to another bolt of lightning. Prancing a few steps he regains his composer and returns to walking beside her quietly. Lobes flicker in with uncertianty he really began to feel her presence beside him. Keeping stride with her he pondered the last time he had had any communication with another nequus. How long it had been since he had even spoken to another.
"To be honest I don't really live anywhere, I suppose you could say I have a gypsy's soul...."
Staring off ahead discomfort threatened to overwhelm him, it had been way too long since he had been so close to another. His outgoing personality danced around him alluding him, causing him to tense up next to the mare. Tossing his head he turns his concentration to finding shelter for the two of them.
"What caused you to venture so far from home?"

*Aldora looked at Aiden the best she could without hitting him as she sensed him tense up beside her as she stepped away from him as she looked forward again sighting a tree that looked like more sheltering them the open. It looked like a willow, much like her own back home. Prancing forward she vanished into the thick branches where it was really dry, as if the cruel rains couldn't break through. Shaking off again she looked back toward Aiden whom she had pulled away from and into the shelter.*
"It's warmer in here Aiden, a lot warmer." She noticed as she shook the water from her coat and wings that beat twice to free themselves up a bit. "A gypsy soul? Sounds fun." She smiled watching him, moving out of the way to make room for him in the shelter. "As for me being so far from home, lets just say I'm an adventurer at heart and can't help, but be foalish at times."

Ducking his head slightly Aiden pushes through the willow branches. Blue orbs adjusting to the darkness he moves in along side Aldora. Side stepping away from her, he shakes off his drenched pelt. Beating his own wings free of access water weight, he wiggles them back into a comfortable position. Sighing happy to be rid of the extra weight he returns his attention to Aldora.
"I suppose its fun, I don't have very many relationships with others, part of the price of continuously traveling." Shrugging off his bleak past his curiousity got the best of him. "Where else have you been? Anyone else worth meeting out there other then yourself?" Blue orbs dance with playfulness at the mare. His words were in play, but meeting her hand turned out to be a pleasent experience, exceedingly better then talking to himself at least.

"Been?" That was a question to ask, she hadn't really 'been' anywhere. "I haven't been to too many places, And I've only met one other besides you." She pointed out.
*Thinking back, she had nearly forgotten the strange Aeri that she had come across. Dressed in clothing he was and refused to fly other wise, wouldn't even open his wings at all. A sigh escaped her as her still shivering legs crumpled under her and she was forced to lay on the ground. Wings adjusting to fit more like a soggy blanket over her back and sides. She wondered if she looked completely like a fool to Aiden, she certainly felt like one at least.*
"I'm sure you will meet many others that can share your freedom of adventure. When this rain stops, I'm bound to return to my warm home and stay there. At least at the heated mountains there's very little rain, but a lot of heat and ash."
*Now she did feel a bit foolish, never traveling again? What was that about? Of course she would travel again, but surely not to this place perhaps. Maybe other places, searching for that Strange Aeri again, she did want to see Howl again. To see how is was doing after all this time. Many thoughts clouded Aldora's mind as her head sank to the ground and her rust colored eyes hid behind eyelids. She seemed more tired then cold at the moment.*
