Not necissarily. In Astral projection you tend to be no solid capable of even walking through walls and such. To affect anything in Astral form would require much concentration. This case however might be a form of bilocation, a simialar thing as Astral projecti0on but more... substantial.
Needles it could also be a case of simple feedback from the dream. your mind was convinced it happened and your body injured itself as a result. Think of it as a Freddy krueger movie. Except in your case no boogie man.
I agree completely with this arguement. I have experienced this myself in a quite violent dream I had involving demons, if I remember correctly.
In my dream, I was stabbed in my right arm towards the shoulder where the trapezius muscle is (if my source here is correct).
After I woke, for a couple days later my arm felt bruised, but occasionaly I would feel a pins and needles sensation at the location and spreading through my arm. Since the source to me seemed astral, it only seemed fitting to find someone who could treat the part of the astral body that was manifesting such an injury. In any case, the pain departed and has not returned, and probably would have done so regardless of my action.
What was important is what I learned from the experience. Like I said in my previous post, what is it that you need to learn from? Analyze your dream more thoroughly, and include all present circumstances that might be related. I think you'll find your answer then.
