This thread was made for the sole purpose of electing 10 cadidates as to who will be in the Government Council. Five of the ten candidates will make it to office.
The rules of the voting are simple, no voting for yourself, and since accounts aren't allowed to vote if they aren't part of the guild don't try it, not saying any of you would.
You have to elect a person which you think would be best suited for position. If the person you would of wanted to elect is already elected, just vote for them.
Current Candidates are as follows: Tutsumi Elected by: V.H. Griffin Chan Votes: 1
V.H. Griffin Elected by: Kenosha Votes: 3
This page will be deleted after the elections are over.

Important thing to note, we might not GET 10 candidates anytime soon.
Maybe first five nominated and approved by the majority are in with um like elections or something next time if more want to be on the board?

I say we go ahead and officially make Tutsumi and V.H. Griffin council members.
Requirements: Active member of the GG, decent RP, blah blah blah.
Since we don't have many active members at the time being, Im still pushing that we take 5 people and wrap this up. (Hoping for someone from MSRF and GN.)
1. Tutsumi (representing Gaian Army? *checking*) 2. V.H. Griffin (representing ASDF) 3. 4. 5.

I agree, Kenosha, and I vote for V.H.Griffin. Look at the trouble we're having just to get 3 council members. Imagine the trouble to get 10 of them. Besides, 5 is an odd number and therefore they will not get a tie.

Tanasha Concerning reps: Each major part of the GG should be assured one seat on the council, so as to insure that nothing goes completely unrepresented. One for the ASDF, one for the GA, one for the GN, one for the GPD, and three for the rest of the non-millitary government. That's seven, the one for each of the three millitary branches, three for the non-millitary branches, and one for the grey area between the two that is the GPD. Civilians can vote for whoever they like to fill other seats, the number of which should be a multiple of 7, most likely 14. That's 21 total seats, of which however many you like can be filled by named NPCs. For millitary or millitary-style organizations, these assured reps are "officially" the person of highest rank, but as it would be hard to do thier job if they spent all thier time being a rep, they are allowed to appoint a subordinate to represent thier intrests whenever they are not present. So basically we'll have 3-4 actual reps and some 17-18 NPCs of which most likely will not be RPed much... sorry, dont like it. That goes the same for 'appointing' reps. It'd be much better if the members of each organization had a say in who they should represent them. GPD needs a forum or at least a thread, link, something here to interact with the rest of us. Civilians? Are these actual groups or more like all extra people on Gaia who are welcome to be a part? Lastly, for us to have started this in early November then all of a sudden have it knocked down is a slap in the face.

First: This allows the groups here to appoint representatives, which further allows us to say "You, you, you, and you are the new reps. Go to it." There are only two people chosen so far, and as you said it was started in november. Second: It's really only a minor change. Third: It's unreasonable to have the council be only 5 people, all of which are from millitary organizations. Aside from making the GG a millitary-run state by definition. Just trying to help <.<;;

Tanasha First: This allows the groups here to appoint representatives, which further allows us to say "You, you, you, and you are the new reps. Go to it." There are only two people chosen so far, and as you said it was started in november. And how will adding seats to the council help? There's only two out of five! I've already stated my opinion of filling gaps with NPCs. You're building a city without enough residents to run the services. Quote: Second: It's really only a minor change. Giving every organization a seat sounds 'nice', but really... will they all be used? Having a limited number of seats makes each seat even more valuable and (hopefully) generates conflict (ie RP). Will some groups be left out? Yes. Will they do something to make a change? Depends. I had also assumed that the representatives would be relatively free from any 'direct' pressure from their organization which is why it would be fine that peers just nominate anyone. Quote: Third: It's unreasonable to have the council be only 5 people, all of which are from millitary organizations. Aside from making the GG a millitary-run state by definition. The council can be expanded to whatever number is needed, that's not an issue. Also, I nor anyone else I can remember has said as fact that the five seats would be help by military orgs. Since GG is ONLY military orgs at this point its pretty obvious what will happen. Until I actually see some other, non-military groups (excluding the GPD) appear Im going to assume the GG is nothing more than a place where military groups can interact and RP on a mutual field. Quote: Just trying to help <.<;; If you want to help, help get things moving. If you would of brought this up even as late as December, I wouldnt be ranting now and people would have a definite idea of how things are developing.
