((This is a private RP between Bubblegum Flavored Pandy and myself. Please do not post unless asked. ))  ------------------------------------------ Azariel breathed deeply, chest and sides heaving as she slowed from her morning run through the forest paths. She was smiling this time, a rare occurence until lately. She had finally met some of her old friends after months of solitude. Her happy mood was interrupted by the sudden gust of wind which promptly shoved her mass of white hair directly into her face and mouth. Spluttering up a storm she spat out the white mass, glaring at it balefully. She still hadn't cut it; she hadn't had the chance. Panting from both the excersion of running and the small fight with her body she stepped toward the small pool of water nearby, planning to wtake a bit of a drink before heading toward home.

Kiefer drank deeply from the pool of water he had stumbled upon, hidden a bit behind the bushes. He had been out exploring, visiting his old stomping ground as a colt, hoping to run into some friends. He had certainly grown himself...maybe they had too?
He was a bit nervous about running into one, though. So much had changed with him, physically and mentally. He wasn't a wirey little colt, he was a strong, fully grown stallion, capable of everything that an adult could do.
He had matured too. He wasn't as ignorant as he had been, nor as impacient. He still was completely reckless, that would never change. If anything, he had gotten worst in that front, because he was no longer strapped down by his parents constently keeping him in check.

Azariel gently pressed through the fauna that hid the pool of cool water, it was always a nice treat to go to this little spot because hardly anyone knew about it and therefore no one was likely to disturb her during this little bit of time she had to herself before going back to work. Mashki was clearly a believer in working for one's food, so Az was always busy at one point or another.
Finally breaking through she quickly stepped forward, bending down to drink, not even noticing if there was another near her, she was too thirsty to care at the moment. Her long white til swayed in the light breeze that cooled the sweat which had beaded on her black coat. Mashki would have to brush later if Az would let her.
Drinking her fill, or as much as she could without going within the danger of a stomachache, she raised her head, muzzles glistening slightly and long hair partially wet from it's sudden soak. Light green-blue eyes widened as she caught sight of the yellow and brown stallion which stood nearby. How could she have been so blind as not to see?

Kiefer watched silently as suddenly, he saw a mare. Such a farmiliar mare... her great white mane consumed most of her face, and for a moment he could not make out her face at all in the flurry of white.
Then he saw it, and he knew it. It was Azariel. It had to be. She had the same markings, her mane and tail grew significantly, and she was a full grown mare, but it was definetly her. He let a little smile play across his face, remembering the promise he made to see her again. Well, it looked like he was definetly keeping his promise.
"Azariel" he said, a bit softly, not sure how to act around her. He was not the colt she would remember. "It is nice to see you again. I guess we both have grown quite a bit" he said, looking at her intently.
She wasn't the most well groomed mare in the world, she had been doing some running, he could see sweat glisten on her coat. But he expected nothing more then that from her, he never imagined any of the fillys he had met to grow up being prim and proper, they were, for the most part, all the type that could care less about appearence.

She recognized him after a moment, she hadn't seen him in a long while either. Months perhaps, days began to blend together when everything about them was the same. It helped that he said her name.
"Kiefer...?" It was! Who could mistake that yellow coat with brown stripes? Granted, her was older and his mane had grown a bit (not nearly as much as hers, but why would any stallion allow otherwise?) but he was still the same colt she had shown not all fillies were prim and proper, "It has been a while, hasn't it?" She mused softly, pleasantly surprised to see another friend,
"Indeed we have, though..." She gave him a sardonic smile, "I'd kill for your hair." She laughed and shook her head, allowing a few more strands to frame her face, "How have you been, Kiefer? Still getting into trouble?" Green-blue eyes surveyed her old friend, taking in his older form. He was certainly more muscular then before, taller as well, he had grown up quite nicely.

He let a low chuckle escape and a smile play across this face. Same old Azariel, just bigger and a bit more mature.
"Yes, quite a while. But hey, we still met again, so that counts for something. Kept my promise!" he said jokingly, whipping his long stripped tail back and fourth. It was weird to meet her again, it was if they both expected eachother to be the same colt or filly, but they were clearly much different now.
"I like your hair" he said, whipping his mane arond a bit. It was semi long, just like his father's. He wondered how he would look if he just let his mane be long. Very funny, he guessed. "Plus, it reminds that world that you are a girl" he joked, not meaning to imply that she looked like a boy, but simply that she didn't act like one.
"Haha, more then you know" he said, thinking about how much harder it seemed to be to stay out of trouble as he got older. He always thought that it would stop when he was older, but really, it had just gotten worst.
"What about you? Still protesting the generalization of fillys..and er, mares now?" It was weird calling her a mare, in his mind, she was still the crazy little filly that he had slid down the big ravine with.

Azariel chuckled, "You sure did, eh? Though it's been ages." She shook her head, not caring very much about the lapse of time inbetween, at least they had found each other again, right?
She looked at him strangely, why was it that stallions did seem to understand the hinderance such long hair caused? It was nothing but trouble and she couldn't do anything about it. She laughed at his statement, "Ha! I suppose, not that I want it to." She shook her head again, not really helping the situation again.
"Kief," She chuckled, "What have you been doing? Being a terror to the world?" She laughed, "You're certainly capable of it." She cocked her head to the side, "Me? Oh, no, I gave up on that long ago. No sense beating something like that into another's brain when the opposite occurs so much more often." She shrugged, "I prefer for them to learn about me now, not compare me to others." She shook her head again, reaffirming the decision in her mind. To do otherwise was simply pointless.

"Haven't really been doing much lately at all. I was getting bored, which is bad. I cause trouble when I am bored" he joked,watching her have trouble with her hair. Ah, it was funny to watch. Both his sisters had relativly short hair, and didn't care much about it.
"Well, that makes sense. Of course, by this age, they probubly have learned not to judge one immedietly when they meet eachother" he said with a nod. It was true, through his experience as a colt, he knew that he couldn't just take a look at someone and decide how they were, he had to wait and see.
"And what about you? Anything interesting happen since we last met?" he said, curious if his old friend had been doing anything more interesting then he had. Certainly she had...his life seemed quite boring for now.

Azariel laughed, shaking her head, " I can imagine," She replied, grinning over at him. She had no doubt he would cause trouble if he was bored, he probably caused trouble when he wasn't bored, he was just the type of person to do that sort of thing.
Azariel snorted, both from his statement and the fact her long hair was about to make her sneeze, "Right, not many think that," See shamrock green stallion to the left, "But I'm glad at least you've kept the sensibility." She grinned at him, "It's something you should always keep. Or do I need to teach you that lesson again?" She was merely joking...not that she would mind doing such.
"Me?" She pondered for a moment, "I've been...busy. Avoiding my father, meeting some old friends...fighting with this infernal hair..." She shrugged hel-plessly, "Nothing superbly interesting, if I do say so myself." She stamped a back hoof absently, wondering if she should ask him to take a walk with her; just standing next to a pool of water was getting a bit boring.

"Naw, I don't think that is a lesson that I will keep for quite a while" he said, quite truthfully. It was a good thing to know, he would be stupid to forget such a thing.
He motioned with his head away from the pool "Shall we take a walk to catch up on things, or just talk? I feel stupid just standing here" he said with a laugh. Who knows, maybe they could visit the old ravine. Or maybe just go around a bit, but he liked to be moving while talking, other wise he easily got bored.
"Avoiding your father?" he said, tilting his head to the side "May I ask why, or would that be too rude of me?" he said, curious. Kiefer didn't have a great understanding of family problums. Well, sure, his extended family, particularly his Aunt Aruna, had it's issues, but his own direct family hadn't had any problums, other then his father yelling at him quite a bit.

Azariel nodded at the invitation, wondering jokingly if Kiefer had somehow heard her thoughts, but she dismissed the notions. Telepathy wasn't an ability either of them (or at least she hoped) possessed. She stepped around the water and stopped as she stood almost next to him, "Of course," She answered smiling, "I'll cool off while we chat."
She sighed softly, wondering why she always blabbed such things out everytime she met an old friend, "You may ask," She answered, giving him a wane smile, "I've been avoiding my father for...family reasons," She shook her head, "It's...complicated," She finished lamely, unsure if she should even continue. Family issues weren't something one normally brought up with friends.

He walked out into the open area from where the pool was. The sun cracked through the white fluffy clouds that hung in the skyk , it was such a nice day outside.
"Ah, well, that is too bad" he said, nodding, even though she hadn't even answered the question. "Hopefully you won't run into him, then" he said, thinking of how akward it would be for her father to show up. He didn't want to be around if a confrontation ever happened.
"Family life for me has been...good. I feel weird letting my sisters go off alone, I feel like I should be by there side, making sure nothing happens to him" he said with a laugh. "It is weird to exept the fact that they can take care of themselves now."

Azariel shrugged, unsure, "I don't know..." She answered finally, white hair shadowing her face, "I want to see him, but it's just..." She made a soft noise, "...difficult, I suppose." She looked up at him and smiled brightly, "But, I'll deal with it, no problem," She assured him, dismissing the problem. One that festered quietly beneath the surface.
She laughed at his comments, "Ah, the protective brother, I see!" She shook her head, "You're sisters are lucky, my siblings have been away for a long time." She shook her head, "Ha, but at least you're there for them, right?" She laughed again, "Kiefer the protective brother..." She looked up at him sideways, "It fits you...somehow."

"Well, sometimes you just need to go for it, you know? Of course...I don't really know the circumstances, so I doubt I can give you the best advice" he said, trying not to imply he wanted to hear more.
"Yup, that's me. Very protective, sometimes they yell at me because of it. My father...well, his sister was wronged. It wasn't his fault, but I feel like that if that had happened to one of my sisters, I think I would feel like it was my fault. I can't stand thinking of either of them being hurt" he said.
It was true. If any stallion, or other horse ever hurt his sister...well he wouldn't hold back. Kiefer had developed quite the temper. He was calm most of the time, but once he got angry...well, it was very hard to stop that anger.

Azariel shook her head, "No, that wouldn't be good," She frowned, staring off for a moment, "It hurts him..." She shook her head, stamping a hoof, "Enough of these depressing thoughts!" She grinned up at him, "Must be rather trying to deal with something like this, let's just forget it."
She tilted her head up to him, "Being protective is not bad at all," She smiled, "I like being protective, though I haven't had much to be protective over lately." She shrugged, "Sounds like you have your hands full though, with two sisters."
It must be different with the situation reversed. Kiefer was the only stallion, with two sisters. Azariel was the only mare, with two brothers. What a strange twist of fate.
