I am in shock of that episode. Brilliant. And I felt like I HAD to write SOMETHING... So here it is.
“You...”
The ancient voice resounded throughout his senses, becoming tangible as it spoke.
“... Are not...”
An old, old whisper spoke behind him ‘Doctor...’ and faded away into nothing.
“... alone.”
It lasted less than a second. The brief touch of a ghost, gliding gently across his mind... He recognized the phantom sensation, a feeling he had been longing for ever since that burnt orange sky really had burned.
And the Face Of Boe exhaled his last breath.
What'dya think?

Short, but poignant. You have an excellent way with words.
Hopefully you feel inspired to write another full-length fanfic again soon.

Roobarb I love 'He recognized the phantom sensation, a feeling he had been longing for ever since that burnt orange sky really had burned.' Really nice. Good piece. I second that. Short, but amazing.
I think if the lines from New Earth and the following storyline from Gridlock were put together.. it's really quite beautiful.. I wrote a poem after seeing New Earth and I think it captures some of the Doctor in it.
But anyways. Great piece, and I'd love to see anything else you've written. 3nodding
