Ruffian limped toward the cave she shared with her friend, tired from the events that had developed earlier in that day. A limp slowed her to the far walk where the two of them lived, the left forepaw stinging as she put weight on it. Her face hid most of the pain, but a bit shined through as she noticed the cave. Home! It felt nice to attach that word to something again.
She slipped inside the cave, keeping to her designated side as she plopped herself down. She didn't actually pay attention to see of Daemon was around, but she was sure that he'd show up sometime soon. Hopefully with some food, but if not, she'd go find herself something to munch on for a while. Gods, her paw hurt.

Daemon's mouth was currently occupied by a gazelle, a smaller one, but he could only get that one and the smaller one he caught before this one. He figured, he'd eat the smaller one, bring Ruffian the larger one, maybe she'd like it, maybe it would get himself closer to actually telling her what he wanted to say but...he wondered if he could say it.
Wondered what she would do in response.
He sighed, some blood coating his lips. God, sometimes he hated the taste of too much blood, he really did despise it a lot, reminded him of death, which reminded him or his mother, sister. Seems things weren't so bright all the time.
As he got closer, he sped up his pace, head held high, gazelle held up as well, though one foot dragged along, the legs were dangley, what else could he do? When he got to the entrance of the den, he peered inside, he couldn't tell if Ruffian was home, until he saw her white paw, he smiled, placed the gazelle at the entrance of the den and padded inside slightly.
"Ruff, you hungry at all?" he asked with a smile/smirk on his maw, he waited a moment, then nudged her shoulder slightly with his paw, "come on..." with that, he went outside to sit by the gazelle, and clean his paws off, and to also try to lick the blood off his lips...he didn't need to look like he was trying to be pretty with blood on his lips!
Surely Ruffian could make fun of him for that.

"Oh?" She said softly, not really wanting to get up. She had just gotten herself comfortable, and a few moments later Daemon had to show up. Oh well, food would be worth it. She clawed at the ground, keeping her left foot off of any weight as she pulled herself up. It was quite obvious that something was wrong with her, but she didn't show it in her face.
As she slowly made her way towards Daemon, her black face peered out into the golden light of evening, her brown eyes picking up bits of the gold that reflected in her eyes, giving them a bit of a different, deeper colour. "Aaaah, gazelle, I see." She couldn't think of a witty comment to throw at him, so instead gave off a chuckle as she glance over to the white male.
"Quite a catch on your own, I must say," she said teasingly as she plopped closer to the carcass, nosing it as she decided where to snip at the skin and open up the flesh. Mmmn, just thinking about it made her hungry.

"Yes gazelle, only thing I could get near enough...I swear, the zebra are getting smarter.." he said with a huff as he moved to clean his right paw, left was cleaner, right had to be done, then his mouth. How to hell was he going to get blood off his mouth without water? Damn it, he hadn't thought of that before.
He raised an eyebrow at her, "Least I gave you the bigger one..." he said with a grin. Though, she wouldn't know that for sure, only he did. He sighed, perhaps he shouldn't have said that at all. But while he was cleaning his paw, he couldn't help but raise his eyes to stare her her, and her eyes.
He was getting sidetracked.
Try to stay focused man...

She found a particularly good spot, or so it seemed, and snipped at the skin until it tore open, the flesh exposed for her teeth, and for the world to see. She didn't hesitate to take a bite, and she did just that, the blood from the muscles seeping down the edges off her mouth and dripping down onto the ground. Her black cloat hid most of the blood, and the fur only looked a bit damp. She chewed softly as she glanced back over at Daemon, gulping down her mouthful before speaking to him again.
"Well, I think it's better then eating the same damned thing everyday." She turned her attention back to the meal, taking a smaller bite as her tail swished behind her, content. What she said, she meant, and anything tasted good when you were hungry enough, anyway. She didn't read into his words too much, just thankful that she wouldn't have to go hunting with her injured foot.

Something was...off. Daemon arched a brow at Ruffian, watched her eat, something was different. He peered over at Ruffian rather quickly, seeing if he could catch anything different, any scratches or makes or scents from something else...or someone else.
Ooo, he growled internally. If any male had even thought of getting near Ruffian, he would be all over the male with claws and fangs beared. No, he wouldn't lose Ruffian to some other wannabe, he was the real deal. He flicked his tail, watched his, after cleaning his paw he tried to lick his lips, still tasted like blood...eh.
"So...hows everything..."

The black mistweaver silently went along eating another mouthful of meat, her mind wandering off aimlessly at the disaster that happened earlier in the day. She wasn't sure just what made her fall, but it bothered her so. What was it? She was normally so calm, and always balanced....it was hard for her to think that she slipped, or something of the like. Best not to worry too much about things like that, though. More to focus on food, and letting her paw heal. She certainly would be humored at what Daemon was thinking at the moment, though.
She flicked her tail and glanced back at Daemon mildly, wondering why he seemed a little quite tonight. Perhaps he was more tired then she initially though he was, so she wrote it off as fatigue and replied to his light question.
"Boring day today," she started, tearing off another piece of meat. She chewed on it between words as she continued. "Cubs are tricky little things, don't know how I feel about 'em." She didn't really want to mention how she hurt herself, because she found it very embarassing. "Anyway, met a couple, but one was a sneaky brat, faking just to get pity out of me." She flicked her tail in annoyance as she rambled on. "Ended up coolin' her off, but that scared her a bit too much. Though that was a couple days ago, I think." The days seemed to melt together out here, and she could barely remember what happened when.

Oooo kay...so Ruff didn't like cubs? Well, that wasn't the first thing he would've liked to hear. Perhaps now wasn't the best time to talk about what he wanted to talk about...no, maybe another day. Hopefully, hopefully a day that Ruff wouldn't run away because of what he would say. "I met a couple too...ones I met were alright, though they called me a cloud," he said with a huff, flicking his tail, watching her intently.
"Taught one of them how to stalk a bug...she wanted to hunt but she was too small for it yet, she was an enthusiatic little thing...also met a lion who wants to be a warrior or somehting, I don't really get it but...so it goes eh?" he watched her, tilted his head, was she hiding something.
"You sure today was boring?" he asked raising a brow. he stood up and sat himself next to her, see if she would yell at him, or let him sit their...a test maybe? This might be a good idea...unless he got whacked in the nose.

Ruffian grinned to herself as Daemon mentioned the word 'cloud'. It silently pleased her when Daemon got teased, but he obviously took it well. If he didn't, he'd of probably been a bit more violent about it. Maybe? She let the smirk fall off her face though, because she didn't want to get caught with one.
"Oh? Sounds like a busy day for you, babysittin' the kids, eh?" She laughed at the concept, because she couldn't really see Daemon with kids. He was always too grumpy. Perhaps she'd follow him one day and see what he was really up to when he was with the cubs. THAT would be some fun times to tease him about, and she was sure of it.
"I am quite sure," she started, so absorbed in her mind that she didn't really notice he was so close to her. "It's hard to do something when....well, when there's nothing to do." She didn't want to mention her leg to him, for she was more worried about her own personal ego being bruised then anything, even his concern for her. It embarassed her, no way was she going to tell him about it. She shoved her face full of another helping of gazelle, using that as an excuse to stop talking....for the moment, anyway.

Daemon gave her a smirk, "I wasn't babysitting, I was meeting others, seems if I'm babysitting, so're you..." he flicked his tail, watched her. Something was still up, he could feel it, that..or the gazelle he had eaten before was sick or something and it was making him feel strange. When she said she was alright, he shrugged it off, if she needed him, he hoped she would ask. He didn't need her hiding things because she didn't want him to know certain things.
Nothing to do? Well, Daemon had stuff to do, least his mind did...many,many things, BUT he wouldn't say anything now, not now, didn't seem like a good time. But when would be the right time, when would he know? He huffed and lay his head on his paws, hopefully he would know when the time came.

"Hah. A scout's duty sure seems like babysitting. Nothing better to do then watch the little runts and make sure they don't get into too much trouble. A hassle, I tell you, Daemon." Her words softened at the end, meaning that she probably didn't mean them as harshly as the words were. Cubs could be cubs, and she just hoped that they would enjoy it. She had to grow up way too fast in her homeland.
"Thanks for the meal, though. I would of rather had this then hare." She was certainly telling the truth, and was grateful for the free meal. Even though it was a bit too much for her to eat. What was it with him overfeeding her, anyway?
She motioned to get up, to pull the carcass a bit more out so it wouldn't stink up the cave. Her legs were a bit wobbly, but she got up okay. When she moved to drag the carcass, though, it was quite apparent that she was favoring her left forepaw.
"Nnnng, stupid things are always so heavy," she mentioned as she was in the middle of moving it, bit by bit, trying to act cool, collected, and normal.

He chuckled a bit, sounded like she wasn't fond of them, not a lot, but perhaps she liked it somewhat? He'd never be sure though, well, less he asked...better not think about it, Ruffian could always mostly tell if he was thinking something, and not saying it. When Ruffian went to move the carcass of the gazelle, he smiled, "Anytime you want something different, I'll try and get it for ya," he said with a nod.
He really would, anything to make her even a slight bit happier.
Daemon watched her, and when she moved, he tilted his head...she was favoring a leg. Hmmm, "You sure ya got it alright?" he padded closer to her, tried to take it from her so he could do it...see how she would react. Probably get a slap, but he was just...testing something.

Ruffian was doing okay with the carcass, focusing on just moving it as well as making sure that she didn't put too much weight on her leg. When she felt Daemon brush up against her though, she all but lost that concentration.
Slipping, she crashed into Daemon as she lost her footing. It would of been alright, but she put a lot of weight on her sore foot, trying to stop her fall. A surge of pain shot up her leg, and she couldn't help but gasp from the pain.
"Aaah!" Was all that came out of her black maw, but it was enough to show that there was something wrong with her. And damn it, Daemon would know now, wouldn't he? She was still leaning on him, though most of her body had landed on the ground. A bit lightheaded from the pain, she tried to push herself up, but with no luck.

Daemon still tried to get it and move it himself, but when she slipped, leaned against him, and made a sound that seemed filled with pain, he dropped it, let her lean against him as she fell somewhat more, he didn't want her getting hurt anymore thens he already seemed to be. "Shh its alright, give it a minute or two," he lowered himself to the ground so that she could be comfortable as well.
Soon as he figured she was situated alright, he got up slowly so she wouldn't hurt or ache, and he dragged the carcass far enough away it would not smell up the area. He padded over to her, looked at her legs, one seemed more tense then the others. She had hurt her paw and still tried to do things?! Women and their want to hide pain.
"Why didn't you just tell me?" he asked in his rough voice, but he wasn't speaking rough, it was gentler, softer, she'd probably think of him as a sissy for sounding that way, but he was worried. If only he knew of a god of goddess with healing abilities.

The black lioness laid on the ground, irritated as her tail lashed behind her. Gods, damn it. She wanted to act like nothing was fine, because it wasn't worth the trouble....this trouble....to deal with telling him. Her brown eyes squinted as she turned to him, the pain making her a bit...irritable.
"Why?" She hissed, obviously upset. "Because it is nothing to worry about, that's why." She shifted her weight again in her anger, and ended up hurting her foot again. Gods bless it! It felt like, to her, everything was falling apart. SHe shifted her weight around for her back to face Daemon, embarassment turning into shame.
