SUUUPER SORRY. i really haven't posted much in the guild as i know i should and i'm really being crappy with responsibility ;w; (autumn ftw)

So now i make up for it with a thread |D [/crappy reasoning]

but anyway, i was thinking it would be interesting to hear everyone's backstory.

i'll start with mine xD;;

i was talking on AIM with my friend and she said that gaia was her favorite website and showed it to me. i signed up for it and stuff, back in the days when peasant clothing was all you started with, and i left for a while because i didn't understand gaia at all LOL.

seriously the first thing i did was go to the world map and try to see if there was anything to kill LOL. like i was playing maple story or something. rofl.

the first item i ever bought was User Image

the second was The Gift from (back then) Ian's store. (now it's rufus' i guess) i no longer have those items, sold them a long time ago xD;;

Lol, interesting backstory.

My friend just told me, "Amanda look, it's like neopets!!?! Join join join!" Then after I got an email adress to work with I made my first real account. I don't remember my first item. xD

My friend and I were working on our science fair project in 8th grade and she went to check up on Gaia on my laptop. That's the first time I knew about it, but forgot about it once we got back on task. XD

The following summer, my brother came over to my room and showed me Gaia (yes, he has an account but hasn't logged on since he made it). I was hesitant, but I wanted to make an avatar. >__> So I did.
First item I bought was my Castaway Wash Jacket, which I still have to this day. It's the only item I have from my very first avatar. XD;;
First donation item was Ninja Headband for like.. 3.2k. Sold it like 2 years later ( crying ) and then my friend donated another one to me <3.

I began Gaia through a friend I had on LiveJournal. She had posted a link in one of her entries and I checked it out and signed up. Didn't really do much when i first joined, bumped, chatted, and voted in the Art Arena tons XD first item bought were Hand Wraps/Foot Wraps, first item quested for were a Fox Ear and Fox Tail set (like 2k back then total XD), and first ever donation item acquired was Bear Pajamas (4k I think) domokun and geeze, back then getting 1k required a lot of effort for some reason whee

This was when I didn't have a computer (Yes, I'm serious.) and I didn't have the chance to go on frequently. But I was kinda addicted right away. It's really funny. The first time I saw threads, I didn't look at the username. I kinda just looked at the avatars 'cause my friend was looking through this one thread and trying to find something funny for me to read. And I was thinking, "Wow. There are a lot of the exact same avatars here!" 'Cause I was looking at the same person posting. xDDD

I remember a friend e-mailed me this link, and was like check it out. you can make your own avatar and dress it up. so I did. and back then I was using a 56k, and a crappy computer and ended up making myself a guy.
I was so frustrated I just gave up for that day... low and behold if I had stayed and chatted that day I would've owned my very own red rose corsage... sweatdrop
so... that was the only time I was a guy. I didn't start with any clothes or gold. I spent 3 weeks earning enough just to get a flame set, and then was completely heart broken when (after a while the e-mail I sent to an admin went through and I finally got my female character, there was no edit your hair/eyes/gender/name without getting a new one, or contacting an admin) I couldn't wear the flame set cause it was for guys only!!! gonk

barton boutique was the only store. barton town was the only map square. there was a gaia chat. (like IRC). a link library.
and the first female outfit I bought consisted of the red shirt, baggy coal jeans, purple shoes with socks.
then... about a 2 weeks later I got two rare giftboxes right in a row (cause I quadruple clicked... 56k remember?) a nitemare headband, and a gas mask... making my character look like this...

and it was super awesome back in the day... the only items that matched were sets... so yeah... xd

I joined because I was a little Neopets fangirl back in the day ;D I was on Soup-Faerie.com looking for backgrounds or something for my profile and there were one of those little animals that you could click to feed. I ended up here and signed up, but pretty much abandoned my account for like three months.
When I got it back... gosh... what was my first outfit? I'm pretty sure it included a dried grass skirt. The first thing I quested for was I think the flashion shirt and skirt... I did a lot of rping and was a total n00b in all possible ways.
Met Claireh during her birthday giveaway, ended up staying and chatting for a while and won her banis, which I still have ;D -points to avatar-

And then my brother and I got banned on 4 different accounts. lol botting
And his highest ranked one- which surpassed even the banned accounts- was sold for cash. rofl
