A shrill chirp of the birds overhead broke into Mia's sleep. They seemed to be bickering about something or other. Not that she really cared. At another time maybe, but they just woke her up from a nice bit of shut eye, so she felt nothing but annoyance for them. She sigh "pesky birds she though as she finally opened her eyes and squinted into the morning sky. It seemed to be mid morning now. Not a cloud to be seen, just clear skys everywhere. She slowly got up and stared at the birds high up in the tree, snorting at them for waking her up. She shoke herself, getting all the leaves and dirt off of her that had once clung to her as she had slept. It was a nice day, and what would make it even better would be to have a nice drink of water. She slowly trotted down the little hill with the tree she had slept under and made her way across the fields, in the hopes of finding a watering hole or something close to it.

Running as fast as her legs would carry her Del'nal laughed as she stretched out her wings in hopes that maybe she'll at least get an inch off the ground. She paid no mind to her mother at all when she had last heard her what seemed like forever ago when she was told to stay close by. Why stay close by when there was so much to explore? Plus she wanted to go try out her wings but she hadn't gotten the flying lesson yet so she really had no clue what to do. She paid no attention to where she was going so she didn't realize that she was about to run head on into the mare.
'Del! Del! Where did you get off to now?' Adelle asked out loud to no one in particular as no one was about. Not even her daughter was around who she had told to stay close by but she was once again gone. 'I'm such a horrible parent. I can't even manage to keep her near without her wandering off.' she muttered as she went off in search of her daughter. She did know that she was going to have a nice long talk with Del about staying close once she found her.

Mia still being a little tired, yawned and continued exploring for water. She was to much in her own world to realize fast enough that something was headed straight for her. She spotted it a little to late and naughed in surprise as she got push to the side. She was to startled by the impact and just kind of stared around dizzily, trying to find what smashed into her. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a little heap of black and silver hide. SHe slowly trotted over to inspect it. Upon closer approach, she began to see it was a little foal. Alarmed that it may be hurt she gendly bent down and nudged the little thing "are you all right dear?" She asked, in the most gently, soothing voice she could muster for the situation.

Del had run smack dab into the mare and she tumbled backwards. She lay there for a few moments with her eyes close as she felt slightly dizzy. Though feeling something nudge her her eyes shot open and she quickly got up on all fours though a bit clumsy about it. 'I'm...I'm fine.' she said as she looked up at the mare. 'I'm sorry for running into you. I didn't see you. I was just trying to get these stupid wings to work.' She stretched out her wings to show them off before tucking them back in. 'My name is Del'nal though you can call me Del for short. That's what my family calls me.'

Mia looked down at the little foal and chuckled goodnaturedly. " Don't sweat it. I admit you caught be by suprise but it was partially my fault for being a slow a** and not getting out of the way." Oh shot. Did she just say a** in front of this little one?OH well, to late to take back her words now. "wow, thats cool that you have wings. I would try to help you in the flying department but sadly i dont have any wings." SHe looked at her back and flutter her wings of imagination. "oh" she said looking back, forgetting her manners. "Im Mialu by the way. Mia for short. Its nice to meet you. Im quite new around here so I don't really know anyone. Your the first Soquili I've run into." She giggle a little and changed back to a serious face since she felt she wasnt funny enough "no pun intended." She looked around, trying to figure out something to say. Then she noticed that this foal was all on her own. "Hey Del, where are your parents." she asked , concerned about Del being all alone

Smiling Del couldn't help but take a liking to this mare she ran into...literally. 'Perhaps you'll get wings of your own one day.' the foal said with a nod. She knew that her parents and brother had wings and she hadn't met anyone other then this mare so she thought that anyone could get wings. 'Your the first one outside of my family that I've met. Your nice and you've got a pretty name.' She flapped her wings a couple times just for fun before answering Mia's question about her parents. 'I don't know where my parents are. I wandered off to practice my flying. I was with my mommy. My brother is with my daddy somewheres probably practicing flying.'
Looking into the distance Adelle thought she could see a small dark thing. As she got closer she realized that it was her daughter that she had been searching for and she was with another soquili. 'Del!' she called out as she took off running towards her daughter. She had found her daughter and she wasn't going to lose her again.

Mia smiled and played along. "Yeah, maybe i will get them some day. That would be flipping awesome!" She ran around Del in a circle jumping up and down, pretending she was flying. "We'll your the coolist first foal i ever met." Mia said nodding. It was the she hear something in the distance calling Del's name. She looked and squinted, trying to make out the figure. It was a Mare running full speed their way. " well speaking of your parents, it looks as if your mom is here to crash the party. In saying that I hope she doesnt crash into me to." she chuckle as she watched the mare approaching

Del couldn't help but laugh as she watched the mare jump about around her. Just then she heard her mother calling. 'Darn it all I was hoping she wouldn't find me.' she turned and watched her mother come towards them. 'She's really nice and perhaps she can tell you where to get wings.' she said with a nod as she continued watching her mother get close.
Stretching her wings out to slow herself down Adelle went back into a walk once she got close to the pair. 'Del you've worried me so. I thought I told you to stay near me?' she scolded before nuzzling her daughter lovingly. 'I hope you'll listen to me next time.' Looking up at the mare that was near her daughter she smiled. 'I hope she wasn't to much trouble. I do apologize if she was a bother. I didn't think she would run off or run that quickly.' Her voice was apologetic as she spoke and if one were to look in her eyes they could tell that she was being sincere about it.

Mia nodded to the approaching mare in greeting. "Its no problem. She wasn't a bother at all. I actually enjoyed talking with her. Your fortunate to have a sweet daughter." she nodded again "Oh, my names Mialu by the way, Mia for short. Its nice meeting you."

'I'm sorry mommy. I was just trying to learn how to use my wings.' Del explained as she looked between her mother and Mia. Speaking of wings there was something she wanted to ask her mother but it escaped her mind as of now. 'I didn't get myself into any trouble though and oh! Mommy do you think you can help her get wings? Pretty please?' she asked with a hopeful look in her eyes.
A look of relief came over her face as she heard that Del wasn't a bother. 'It's nice meeting you as well. I'm Adelle.' she smiled but ended up laughing gently as she listened to Del ask about the wings. 'I wish I could hon but not everyone can have wings. You have to be born with wings like you and your brother were.' she explained. 'Or I would help her get some.'

Mia watched the two exchange banter and beamed. She could feel the love Adelle felt for her daughter and it made her a little jealous since she didn't have a family. Mia laughted "Yeah, I like to think I have imaginary wings though. I have dreams that I meet my prince charming who has wings and he takes me up and flies me around." She blushed when she realized she let that slip. She giggled it off nervously "Sorry, my imagination can get the best of me sometimes."

Del listened to her mother her eyes wide as she heard that Mia couldn't get wings. 'She can't get wings? That's not fair though mommy. Everyone should have wings and then everyone would be able to 'dance' in the skies as daddy puts it.' she said with an affirmitive nod. Looking up at Mia she frowned as she thought for a few minutes but then the frown turned into a smile as an idea came to mind. 'I'll get you some wings! You may not be able to fly with them but they'd still be wings and then you could really pretend you could fly.' she bounced in place happily with the thought of her new idea.
Adelle smiled when Mia said what she did about meeting her prince charming. 'It's allowed to let your imagination fly. There's no need to apologize for it. I do believe though that you'll meet your prince charming one day though and I'm sure he'll fly you quite high.' she said with a gentle nod before looking down at Del as she started speaking. Though before she could get a word in her daughter had come up with the idea to get Mia some wings and she had no idea what to say to that as of yet so she just blinked and then looked up at Mia to see what her reaction would be.

Mia looked down at Del. "I appreciate you caring, but you don't need to worry about me. Im quite alright the way i am. No need to go through so much trouble" she nodded and nudged Del affectionatly hoping her mother wouldnt mind. She looked up at Adelle "Thanks, Im glad you think so. Now if i could only be so confident."she chuckled and the cleared her throat, which was getting quite dry. "Hey, I was on my way to get a drink since im so parched. Care to join me?" she asked the two.

Del smiled as she merely let what Mia say go in one ear and out the other. She was already planning on how to get these 'wings' for Mia. Perhaps this two-legger she heard her parents talk about could help her with her mission. Though hearing the talk of water she looked up excitedly. 'Can we mommy? Can we pleeeeeeeease?' she pleaded.
Watching Mia as she talked to Del Adelle felt quite at ease and knew that she could trust this mare and it made her quite happy. Perhaps having Del wander off like this she too would get to meet others. 'Water does sound nice and I think I would have many a problem with Del if I said no. So I would l love to join you if you still care to have us.' she smiled and gave a small nod.

"Awesome! I don't always have a lot of company. I'm glad i meet you two today. Makes my life a little more exciting." She chuckled as she lead the way through the fields, looking around for water. "So...what your family like"? Mia asked curiously since she was forgetting what family was like. She didn't remember her parents or if she had any brothers or sister. As long as she can remember she'd been mostly alone. The thought puzzled her, she couldnt never figure out why she had fogotten. Had she gotten amnesia or something? She furrowed her brow, annoyed that such sad thoughts had crossed her head. She liked mostly happy things. She didnt like being upset. SO she brushed the thought aside and soon forgot anything she thought because she spotted some water in the distance "I see some. we're almost there!"
