Great news for any dot hack fan(followed by some bad news but thats just the way life is... Eh what can ya do?.... any ways back to the topic). Incase you haven't heard yet, as of saturday Jack Stacko has announced the official release date of The World R:2. Thats right The World R:2 will be released sometime around August and it will be free for everyone to play.  wash_away: Thought I better post this too biggrin

Not only that, but the rumor is that R:1 will be going offline when R:2 comes out. So if you have an R:1 character, better start planning a funeral.

Bad news is it's going to be a pay to play game. gonk the reason they r making it pay to play is because its gonna be 3d and costs a lot. and they are hoping to regainsome of the money by doing this

Current updates on the P2P, or F2P issue:
The game is now going to be F2P(free to play), however the release date has been pushed back by another two months.

Aww man, I just got the game too redface sweatdrop Oh well, better stick to other games then, like Gaia or maplestory, my parents will never let get a pay to play game.

Jack hasn't said anything about that yet, but yeah we probably are going to have to download the new version.

Quick Update:
The servers for "The World" are currently down. No known info as to when the servers will be back up. Current rumors state that the servers will be restored when people stop asking "When will the servers return?"

Servers have been restored. And a quick update if you haven't been keeping up.
AIDA now deletes its user if they die with it equipped. A new form of AIDA has been handed out, by the character called ouroboros. Rumors state that a surprise is in store for those who possess an AIDA from this character. Oh, and as a reminder. The game has been made F2P(Free to play), and will be released sooner due to a merger between CC Corp. and TG Corp(Cyberconnects and Twilight Gaming). Still no official announcement on when it'll be released. Estimated time of release is early 2008(That's just my guess).

New Update: The game has been said to be release by around December. Also all fields that were made after May 31st, were deleted due to an admin having a "Bad day". Most of the ruined fields though have now been restored but all of the May 31st ones are still gone. Servers are back up too.

So it's now early 2008, any more updates on the game?
(note: I try to find updates, but I can't seem to get anything, so that's why I'm asking)

Oh yeah, updates. Let's see. Supposedly, the secondary project "Project Vs." Is nearing completion. As for what it is, it's supposedly going to be a card game based on Crimson VS. from the GU discs.

Been a few months since an update was given. Due to current financial difficulties faced by Joseph Stacko, the game and everything related to it has been taken down. There is no designation as to when the game will return, if at all. Indications point to a site shutdown in the coming months.
